[Q] battery calibration help !!! - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

hey i saw this thread abt battery calibration .. but i'm stuck on the first very step
1. Before flashing a new rom, use root explorer (with read/write set) to delete the file "batterystats.bin" stored in /data/system/.
I CANT FIND THE FILE !!! .. has it been deleted by mistake or wht ? .. im using the file manager to search for it on the sd card cnt find it ???
help !!!

That's because it's not on the SD card.
Do you know how to get a root prompt with the on-phone terminal or ADB? If you can, it's simply a matter of issuing:
Code:
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin

no i dnt knw how to ? .. can u plz temme step by step ..

If you can get your file manager to that location (/data/system) the file will be there. Like I said, it's not on the SD card. That's mounted on /mnt/sdcard.
What file manager are you using? I'm using ES File Explorer. It starts in the SD card directory but can be switched to the root file system by tapping the SD card icon.

use Root Explorer

thnx guys .. got it

[Q] Isn't batterystats.bin dynamic thus making it pointless to delete?

they have an app nw for this

important help

my question is how would i extract a file and place it into the ext3 partition of my sdcard
would i have to push the file with adb and is so,where
if not please tell me how would u extract a file to the 3rd partition of sdcard
I'm guessing it's an app...Just put the apks on the sd card and install them. If you have apps2sd on your rom then your fine. If you don't and have amon-ra's recovery just use his apps2sd option in the "other" category.
not an app
its not an app its a file im tryin to extract a file to third partition im testing out this thread right here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624392
install 'astro' from the market, dump the file (any apk really) onto your FAT32 partition from your computer, and ASTRO will ask you if you want to install that file when you long press it.
works very well.
im tryin to follow this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624392 scroll down a little bit and u will see dis guy posted his instructions please help me

since you have an ext like you said data/app is the partition i push files to
k
so if i push it to data/app it will be the third partition cause i do not want to mess up this phone

[Q] how can i move files from sd card to emmc(no pc)

Can someone tell me how to move files to the internal memory without connecting to pc.
when i try doing it wth file manager it says file could not be moved
i cant pay for any app right now, need something free
notenoughspace is one app that can do it but i again i cant pay for it right now. If anyone has it plz post the apk.
What ROM do you use? Astro File Manager works fine with Nokie Froyo and rooted stock.
P.S. Are you aware that if you want to store files in eMMC, you should place them in /media folder, not in /,/system etc.?
I am using cm7 right now, i try to place files in my files and it fails
Edit: it working now, but only copy and paste, when i use move, it fails but thats not a problem anyway.
i think the place you are trying to put the files is mounted as read only. Try putting files in the /media/ folder using astro or esf
Root Explorer is best file/rights manager...
Good question. Once you have Root Explorer working, try emailing the files to your self then install to SD Card or eMMC.
Good luck m8.
I use Dropbox to port files to my Nook, Gtab, and Evo phone. Just open Dropbox and download the file on your device. Dropbox puts it on your SD card in the "Dropbox" directory. Then you just use Root Explorer to move and paste from there to your emmc memory folders.

[Q] directory of apps on sd card??

we can find the apps installed in the phone memory from the market in the folder data>apps but what is the directory of the apps installed on the sd card? plz can anyone help me????
First of all y do u need it????
Well u need to have root.
.then get an app like Root Explorer and in DATA/APP u see the apps installed...DATA/DALVIK CACHE shows the hmmm .....DALVIK CACHE (LMFAO ; ) ) ....well u can connect ur card to pc via card reader ...then ull see a folder called .ANDROID SECURE which also shows the apps on sd....
Hit the thanks button IF i helped...cheers...
Well anyways, I was looking for the apk files so that I could back them up if I reset my phone. I obviously don't want to go downloading them again. They are found in mnt/asec. I found out. But still, thanks.

[Q] Problem download file browser after root

Hi to all.
Yesterday I've rooted my Samsung SIII Mini N (Vodafone IT) with JB 4.1.2
Now I've root and 2 partition on SD and work well for app on external SD now.
But after rooting I've a strange problem, if I use any browser (chrome, firefox, dolphin, internet ecc.) and I want to save a file or picture in a folder of external SD I can't now. Before rooting I can. Now message is "not space to save file" but I've 3 GB free on phone and 10 GB fred on SD.
If i Save file or picture on phone folder download is ok, when I try to SD folder is bad.
I've try to set permission all on SD folder but not save my change (I use root folder and try other software but the same result).
How I can resolve? Thanks :good:
