Just received WiFI Tab and there a lot of apps missing from Android Market - Launcher Pro, ADW, Zeam, Swiftkey, Google Voice etc etc - all of which are on the Market Web Store of course.
Interestingly the Web Store will not install to the Samsung WiFi - it sees the device in the Install dialog but the device is grayed out.
Spoke to Samsung about this who BSd about this (missing apps) being a 'known Android Market issue' - so I told them that we have these missing apps on our Samsung Captivate, Archos Gen 8 Tabs etc etc.
wow. thanks for that was just checking on that now myself and wondering. would have wrote this from the tab but it keeps on crashing with xda app on tab

same problem that i have which i posted here.
i've emailed Samsung about and here's their reply:
Thank you for contacting Samsung Philippines.
We do apologize for the inconvenience. This is an Android Market issue. Please try doing a system restore or
factory data reset to register your google account again. This might solve the problem. We are expecting for
patch or update from Google as well to resolve this issue. We are so sorry for the inconvenience.

i hope someone can do a fix for this. changing the locale via MoreLocale (or Market Enabler) doesn't solve the issue
actually the Android market works based on the operator number to show you the avalaible apps for that operator in that country
in the case of wifi-only android devices, only apps that have no country or operator restriction would appear on the market.
I had a chinese tablet before my Galaxy tab and that was a common issue.
What will hapen if you try to use Market Enabler? I know, you don't have gsm module, but who knows that will happen...

Can you just go to the Market via a PC, and download the app to the local PC, then move it over to the Tab, and launch it.?

You can't download apps to PC from Android Market
The web-based Market is only a bridge that sends an OTA command to your device

the other option is to download the app on a different android phone and transfer it via BT which kinda sucks though but it's better than nothing.

As soon as I got my phone today I rooted and removed all AT&T crap, now if we could just get past their censorship of the Android Market.
I have renamed all CSC files and references but no change at all.
Since it goes back to the stock Android Market with no SIM in it and WiFi only I figured it was APN settings triggering it so I removed the proxy but no go.
I setup a default APN with nothing in it and when I opened the market it showed me the Download tab.
So there is something referencing the apn before loading the market to tell it to add AT&T and block certain apps from showing up.
Anyone more experienced than I have a clue?
Have you enabled side-loading?? Have you installed AppBrain??
install the stock 2.1 market app...
I have enabled non-market apps but the problem is AT&T censors whet you see on Marketplace (easytether for example.)
I have tried installing the stock vending and marketupdater from Cyanogen 5 for the Nexus One but it still loads the AT&T information and shows no results for easytether.
I am fine with sideloading but at the same time I don't want to only see what AT&T deems acceptable, that defeats the principle of Android.
Here's how to bypass AT&T's censorship of the market. Turn on airplane mode, turn on wifi, then browse the market. Not so hard. Anyways, the only thing they seem to be censoring is tethering apps.
I know I can do it on WiFi but there has to be a way to do it over 3g.

Hi
I have Titanium backup to remove the AT&T Apps but because I don't want to screw up the system by removing an app thats needed for the system, can you please send me a list of all AT&T related applications that if removed won't affect the system?
I will be very thankful to you.

Holy crap. The biggest problem I've had with the device so far is that the Market ran slow as molasses. Now that I've changed it to T-Mobile, it's back to what it was on previous Android phones.
This is the longest I've been on an AT&T-branded ROM in almost 2 years and I forgot how much I hated AT&T's "helpful" changes...
I just tried out Market Enabler. +1 for that app. I switched to T-Mobile and now no more AT&T tab and can find all apps on the market. Did anyone else see a speed improvement in the market after switching?
I just rebooted the phone and it's back to AT&T, looks like it's a per-boot change but better than nothing.
market enabler
can sumone tell me how to install market enabler on the captivate please an thank u
So I sideloaded MarketEnabler and found an old friend on the market....PDANet lol. I still had the version installed on my laptop from way back when I had my Hero from Sprint. I'm not sure if the trial will run out or not since I do have the paid version on my laptop...but I am posting this tethered to my laptop now. Eat it AT&T!!!! Thanks for all the posts guys. I think our little phones are gonna turn out ok after all...its getting better everyday

I have been unable to find this app no matter which marketplace fix I try. Has anyone had any success finding this app? Is there any way of finding this app other than through the marketplace? I have been unable to find it on the mozilla website only links to the market place.
Hi, just google for file 40b3.apk and you will find what you want.
Still not in the marketplace but at least it can be downloaded directly from mozilla

the "fennec" is just the nightly releases its still firefox and functions exactly the same.
Firefox 4b3
Found it on the market while using CM7, before applying the market fix. Not able to attach it because of size limitations.
Firefox 4 Beta 4 - and the marketplace
Well we all hopefully know that the app is now visible to us in the market, and going through the mozilla website what do I see as a supported and tested device but our wonderful viewsonic gtablet .
The reason I bring this up is the market fixes we all know and love is really only are a fraction of the story. The application code and the market applications interaction with the device make up a majority of how the market appears to the device what apps show etc.
what makes me sad is that I thought I was fooling the market into showing me apps however that was only partially true if a device is coded in a specific way it can prevent itself from showing up on any device the coder wants.

The reason I use it is the ability to sync easily. I do not have to use multiple methods to get all my bookmarks synced to the tab. When you wipe install, wipe install over and over again it is nice to be able to punch in a password, wait a minute, and have all your bookmarks back.
On initial install, this hung on the first screen "looking for previous tabs" After shutdown and reboot works fine.
i recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab wifi version and I tried doing a search for Yahoo Messenger in the Market but it doesn't give any result, says that 'no application found'.
but on my mini pro, Yahoo messenger shows up so i end up downloading it in my mini pro and transfer it via BT on my SGT.
any idea why it's not showing in SGT's Market? is there a way for me to be able to fix it?
I'm running Overcome 1.4.2 with Globe as my carrier and it shows up fine in the Market. Didn't see it on stock though.
i've heard of Overcome but i'm not sure if i can use that on my SGT since mine is the Wifi version.
here's what's going on with the Market that I have on my SGT Wifi version.
At first i thought that Yahoo Messenger is the only app that I can't find but unfortunately, I can't locate GO Launcher as well. It shows the Go Launcher themes but not the app itself.
So I'm assuming that there might also be other known apps that might not show. Is there a way to fix or patch the Market so that it would show the apps?
i've tried MarketEnabler, MoreLocale2 but it's a no go .. i've seen someone post a copy of Market here. if i overwrite the existing Market app, won't that cause a problem or will that fix the problem?
anyone?

found a temporary solution .. i've installed Amazon's AppStore, AppBrain and Applanet.
Appbrain relies on Market so that's really a no-go. Applanet works since it shows the files that I need, like, Yahoo Messenger for instance. It even shows the plug-in.

I went into the market on my Xoom, went to the Featured Tablet Apps section, and it was right there at the bottom. It installed fine.
How are you not seeing it in the market? When you try to install it from the website (the tablet app linked by handshake87) it should show you your tablet as an option to install it to. If you can't install it to the tablet it should have a reason shown as to why you can't.
If you can't install it from the market or the website then you have another issue you should probably look into. Since I just installed it I can get the APK using titanium if you still need it.
I think the problem might be that I'm accessing the store from Germany and it's a branded T-Mobile device...
So how about anyone uploading the APK for me? Would really appreciate it!
The apk might not work since it's coming from a U.S. xoom versus your version.
I would love to try if anyone would upload the apk
Not responsible for what happens if you try using the file (e.g. soft/hard brick, bootloops, etc.), but here you go from a U.S. wifi version.

If you're getting the error in the market that says something about the app not being available for your carrier, you may want to try what i had to do on my x10. If you're on AT&T in the US and try searching for tethering apps they are not there. So what I ended up doing was putting my phone in airplane mode and using wifi (removing the sim card and working on wifi does the same thing) and once I did that, the apps would show.
So if the apk file posted doesn't work for you (i see no reason why it shouldn't) try removing the sim from your xoom, connect to the internet over wifi, and look in the market again.
So I updated my phone from an LG V30 to a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and AA no longer sees all the apps I used to be able to use with it.
For example, I can't use SiriusXM, or Blackplayer EX, or Audible.
These don't show up in the app list.
How can I get them back?
They're all on Playstore.
If you want that exact version...
You could also try using ApkExport to copy the app and try loading the copied LG phone version onto the Samsung.
It will either install/work or not.

Ok I see what you mean... I like my cars to be stupid. Haven't played with that.
I don't think it's the app, it's something misconfigured or missing on the phone.
I've seen something similar to this on the forum before but it was a while ago.
Try clearing the system cache and a network reset... can't hurt.
Try some Google searches. You might find the answer with an older Samsung model as there won't be much for the newest releases.
Try opening up Developer options>bluetooth properties
Make sure the proper bt protocols are enabled.
Double check bt settings.

I tried that and I did not see the apps I wanted in AA. It turns out you have to enable them first in the Play store. It's a very stupid and unclear process.
