I unlocked my phone with Galaxy unlocker from Market. In the SGS Tools secret codes menu, it showed Network Lock Off. But i need to return the phone for warranty and tried to lock it back. Now phone is asking me for Unlock code and does not recognize the sim card. Can anything be done or the phone is screwed? I restored it with Odin but the screen for unlock code still comes up.
Any help is appreciated. Thank You.
did you use the program by helroz?
you could just restore your backed up /efs folder if you did to relock the phone properly.
I have had to return two of ours so far and never bothered with locking.
I think one click can find the code f for you

Hi Guys,
New here so please be nice
I have read a load of the tutorials and threads here and have now attempted to CID unlock and SIM unlock my G4, I used the hard_SPL-G4 to CID unlock, which has worked well and I have managed to upgrade to WM6 THe problem that I have now is when I try to SIM unlock the phone, I am using Lokiwiz03 which runs and get the SIm unlock code, but I enter this into the phone and it seems to unlock ok as I get to the normal home page screen, now as soon as the phone tries to register onto the network it goes back to the Network is locked please enter unlock screen, if before the phone has tried to register I put it into flight mode, then everything is ok (except I cant make calls )
Does anyone have any ideas why this may be? SHould I have sim unlocked before CID unlocking?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I unlocked my phone today using a hack method, it worked but the IMEI had changed, I had backed up my original nv_data.bin file so put that back over to the phone. The IMEI is now correct but when I put any sim card into the phone and try to unlock it doesnt work. I did *#7465625# to check the lock status but it does not say ON or OFF for anything, it is all blank. Have a bricked my phone? Hope someone can help.
Its ok all now fixed thanks another section on this forum. Thanks Guys.
I'm on Eclair (2.1), rooted, got the unlock code for my phone. But since I didn't have another network sim card at the time, I tried the "re-lock" method to unlock. Seemed to work at the time. (Didn't know that this method just adds another "accepted" sim card to the internal list.)
Just got another carrier's sim card, and when I put it in and booted, it did not ask for the unlock code. Voice calls work, but the "Network Lock" is still "ON". I've tried "re-locking" to several other MCC/MNC codes, but I never get the unlock prompt.
Does anyone know how I can force my phone to ask for the unlock code?
Or, how do I turn the "Network Lock" off?

Use http://www.communityhosting.net/sgsunlock/
You don't need to use a different sim.. The Network Lock becomes OFF for any carrier.. After unlocking, check by *#7465625#.
Hope this helps.
Worked, thanks!
Worked like a charm.
One question though: If I load a new ROM on, will I need to do this again?
Or can I just re-copy the nv_data.bin file (if necessary)?

Once it is unlocked, u'll never need to unlock again! even after different ROMs
Hey everyone,
I recently wiped my captivate clean. I have used the Odin one click downloader to take it back to Eclair (JF6) and master clear to clear all the files.
I need advice at this point on. I leave for Spain in 5 days. I need this phone unlocked to use my international sim card. Do I upgrade to 2.2 and work with the fact that the unlock code on 2.2 has been erased? Should I stay with Eclair and use easy unlock and root methods?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
once you unlock your captivate it will be unlocked for good. Having the stock JF6 rom just makes things easier because the unlock code was in plain text in /efs/nv_data.bin and can be easily extracted. Any rom after JF6 had nv.data.bin file encrypted but there are other methods to get the code.
Try using the Galaxy_S Unlock in the app market first to see if that works if not there search the forums for another solution.

I unlocked it and successfully upgraded to 2.2 froyo without losing the lock. This is great news. My only concern is that when I insert the unaccepted sim card (international), won't it request a code or will it not?
Thanks for the help!
not sure about using a sim from spain but i've used and tested my captivate on:
US T-mobile sim
UK T-mobile sim
US Simple Mobile sim
and Hong Kong sims
without any problems.
open up your phones dialer and enter *#7465625#
if you see:
Network Lock [off]
Network Subset Lock [off]
SP Lock [off]
CP Lock [off]
you should be good to go.
Your best bet is to contact whatever provider you will be using while in spain and ask if them if your unlocked phone will work with their sims.
Thanks for your input. I contacted them and they said their sim card WILL work, just going to have a hard time unlocking it. The good thing is I have done that already!
My network lock is [off]. I thought I would still need the code? I suppose not.
Hi All,
Hi have the HTC One Locked to Rogers, I had previously unlocked the phone as Im with Koodo. I purchased an unlock code and everything worked just find I was using the phone on the Koodo network for several months, then one day it lock up at the quietly brilliant screen after several attempts I was able to reboot the phone and same thing happened, again after a reboot it finally wouldn't power up. Needless to say I had to send it in under warrantied repair. I got the phone back and the main-board had to be replaced. I attempted to unlock the phone again via code just as I did before using IMEI, each individual states that a code could not be generated. I have rooted devices before but I'm no seabiscuit if you know what I mean and am not entirely sure to what extent I need to go to root and unlock the phone. Before anyone says anything about the rooting/unlocking i know this wont immediately solve my problem but if I have this access can I not find the unlock code in the phone once rooted in addition to other alternatives?. I appreciate any help you guys and gals have to offer.
Thank you

Anyone??? I'm sure I can root this thing but don't know where to go from there.
You will need a new unlock code generated to sim unlock the phone. Has nothing to do with rooting the device. Unless you mean bootloader unlock??

I mentioned I had done this! Unlock code cannot be generated for this IMEI after repair. I am fully aware that rooting will not resolve this. However I will need to root in order to attempt an unlock of carrier via whatever methods are available once rooted such as using hex editor custom roms or whatever other methods are available. Again phone was unlocked via code previously after repair the main-board was replaced and an unlock code cant be generated apparently for the new IMEI.
Are you saying that you can't buy a SIM unlock code?

I bought an unlock code twice, both times I was told that my IMEI could not generate an unlock code. The codes were bought from a reputable source. I was refunded both times. This phone was sent for repair they replaced the main-board. Prior to this repair phone was unlocked via sim
There is no way to unlock via rooting currently.
Perhaps wait a few months and the code may come in to system
