I can't seem to install adwlauncher... it doesn't seem to be findable in the market and when I use a direct link to it, it pulls of up in the market, but when I try and install it, it says that it isn't for my device.

Anderwebs(the primary developer of ADW) has yet to release an updated ADW for tablets. He is working on one, but has not put any information forward as to a date for release.

if you have another android device, download it from the market.
using root explorer, go into the /data/app folder and find the ADW EX app... long press and click share... you should now be able to gmail it or dropbox it....
I use it on the xoom, I like it much better than launcher pro but it force closes a lot.
Yeah I side loaded it from dropbox it seems to run ok but if you use the 4D app drawer is lags at times
Anyone figure out how to get the wallpapers to align correctly or noticing that they arent aligned correctly versus stock launcher?

x2. i'm running adw launcher ex on the xoom and the app drawer some times freezes and doesn't load at all. for now, i'll be sticking with stock honeycomb or launcher pro (choose the keep-in-memory option to prevent force closures)
Yeah I LOVE adw launcher ex but the app drawer in 4D lags like it is cool other than that it works great. Hope the dev fixes

Just rooted my Nook and love it. One problem though, when I download apps from the Marketplace, they just stay in the Download area of the Market place and do not show up anywhere else. I can run the Apps from the Marketplace download area. What am I missing?

It sounds like you haven't installed a 3rd party launcher yet. launcher pro and adw are great choices in my opinion.
If you want to keep the Nook Color launcher as your default, reboot and your new apps will show up in extras.
Thereis an app called fast reboot in the marketplace that was suggested here on the forums. It works great for a very quick reboot so you can see your downloaded programs.
Interesting that after a couple of days. (I just got my nook on Christmas eve) i don't have to reboot anymore. My apps show up as soon as i download them.

Using Zeme as a launcher currently and it has an shortcut icons area where they automatically show up after installation, downloads are visible via "astro".

Anyway, I managed to download several apps from the Android Market but have no idea how to find/use them?
Did you install them, or just download them?
Did you install a launcher (ie. LauncherPro, ADW, etc)?
If you installed the apps, and you have a launcher, then they should be in your app drawer. You can get that by using the app drawer button on your launcher's home screen. Tapping the app drawer button should bring up all of your apps -- including both the market and stock nook apps.
I think I just downloaded the apps. You don't install them while in the market, right? If that's the case then I definitely just downloaded them. One of the apps I downloaded is a launcher that most everyone seems to like on this board, zeam I think it's called. Of course now I have no idea how to find it, or any of the other apps I got. Using it would be nice
Check your app drawer (the icon in the middle of the row of icon on your home screen). It is likely that, if you used the Android market, you installed the apps. That is the normal function when looking at market apps.

I tried about 9 different launchers and really felt most comfortable with LiveHome. Not only did it squash Bing it gave me options to make it as simple or complex as I wanted it. Instead of pissing and moaning about the long wait for Froyo .. I decided to make my Fascinate bearable until then.

No it is LiveHome .. I mean it works pretty much exactly like LauncherPro .. Better drawer options, built it task manager, icon manager and it will load ADW themes ..

It's alright :/ Animations aren't quite as smooth as they are on LP or ADW... but the desktop transition effects are pretty damn sweet. I'll stick with what I had before.
They just took ADW.Launcher and changed it a bit. ADW EX is much better than this. Me, I'll stick with LauncherPro Plus.

I installed the apk posted in another thread .. I think it tells the Google widget to route to Google in the browser .. not sure .. but it works ..

Um...huh? That's like saying the Ford assembly line is producing Chevys. Google search is Google search.
And btw, why did the OP need to use that specific launcher? As far as I know, any launcher other than the stock Touchwiz one will allow to put the Google search widget back on your homescreens, as soon as you remove the Bing apk file and install the Google Enhanced Search apk that was ripped from the Vibrant ROM. At that point, the search softkey and voice search is all Google again, with any launcher other than Touchwiz.
The only other problem is that the search function in the stock browser still uses Bing, which no launcher will change, but there is a de-binged browser apk available as well, or you can install a third party browser. There are many browsers that are infinitely better than the stock one, regardless of search engine preference.

Anyone know how to get launcher pro plus, I purchased it on my evo shift but it wont show up in the market by searching or by going to my apps. I have tried all the market fixes but nothing seems to work. Thanks in advanced.

Did you get an email with an unlock code?
You need to go to preferences, then, I think, unlock launcher pro plus, and enter the code. If you don't have it, there's an option to have it sent to you again.

It doesn't show up on mine either. Neither do some other Apps like ADW and such. Is this an issue with Vegan?
Could possibly be an issue with Vegan. I am running TNT Lite 4.2.4 and both ADW and Launcher Pro show up fine for me. have you tried clearing the market cache and restarting?
I had launcher pro show up on my tab when I first flashed it but it isn't in my market either now. On a side note, Angry Birds shows up now.
I have the problem of missing apps also on Vegan 5.1.1, but if I can't find the app I'm looking for on the Market then I can pretty much always find it on AppBrain. If you get an error when following the link from AppBrain into the Market I find that if you click the "retry" button twice it always connects.
And yeah, LauncherPro Plus isn't in the market, you install LauncherPro and input your activation code after purchasing it on Paypal.

I am running TnT lite and have the same problem with other apps Launcher Pro, ADW, Yahoo Messenger, and a few others.
So I don't think its just Vegan
Just go to the launcher pro site and download it from there. Should be at the top of the page but make sure your browser is in desktop mode.

Hmm. The first rom I ever flashed on gtablet was vegan 5.1.1 and launcher pro showed up the first time I launched the market. Haven't thought about it since because titanium restores all my apps when I flash a rom. Reccomend getting titanium backup and saving yourself the trouble of hunting down your favorite apps everytime you flash.

That's generally what I do. However, that's no good when you've never installed the app in question. Know what I mean?

I love this launcher very much but its giving me a headeg. When I used 2 times it deleted all setup and got back on default and when that hapend it also deleted some progres on app and games.
From then I used Nemus launcher and didnt have this sort of problem anymore.
Dose someone where the problem might be?

i also had go launcher but it's slow,laggy so i switched to zeam launcher and it's very fast and doesn't crashes,try it
I will try, but still hoping to make progres with Go launcher, they have very good themes that I want to use...
EDIT- strange but I cant find zeam launcher on market
Thats your choice,but zeam is faster and stabile. Find apk file on internet,but it should be on the market

I've been using GO Launcher EX with custom ROMs (Floyo 0.20, 0.25, 0.30 and FroyoBread now) and it never did anything like that on my X8, it's "laggier" than the others, but it's okay.
Did you get it from the real android market? You said that you like their themes... maybe it's, somehow, related to theme you've downloaded and installed?

Personally I love GO Launcher, and have never had any problems with it at all. Barely any lag either, but I will investigate Zeam.
There will be a bunch of files (cache, settings, etc.) created on the SD card from GO. You could uninstall it, clear these out, reboot your phone and then reinstall it.
Might solve your problem? Find it does for other apps (as it forces it to gather new data)

I am using unrooted 2.1 zeam launcher works only 2.2 and above -.-
when i installed Go LauncherEX, I stopped receiving SMS on my Stock 2.1 ROM, i don't know if it was GL EX or if it was coincidence.
But i don't like the Go LauncherEX, just try LauncherPRO, use only one homescreen, disable the homescreen caching, use only one dock page, do not use a lot of widgets, and with this, LauncherPRO will only use about 7MB of RAM, and it will be very smooth too.
