1 GB Dane-elec Xs work fine on my Qtek 2020i(XDA2i)
you may format card before use
I have you tried any other card in your XDA IIi.
I have a DANE-ELEC 1 GB SD card and a INOV8 512 MB cards
and both work well.
Sorry I can't be of more help
Muzza
Kingston 2 GB (30651-001.A00LF p799861x01)work as well,
maybe i should have purchase a 4 GB
Scandisk 1GB SD card working fine!
transcend 2gb 150x absolutely fine work =))
maybe you have bad card? or maybe format it via cardreader can help..
My Kingston 2GB works great on the device, might be a case of a bad card for you, tried it on any other devices?
Worked
I use Kingston 1Gb SD card... 50x and it works fine... maybe your battery is dying
I think theres still a 4gb SD card at work which I'll give a go tomorrow if I get a chance.
I work at CeX in Brighton, England, and we get a lot of different types of memory cards in. So far I'm just using a standard SanDisk 512mb card, but will eventually get a 2 or 4gb (the 4gb we have is £120 >.<)
Kingston SD Card 1GB works fine on my XDA IIi. What brand do you use anyway?
XDA IIi definately supports up to 4gb (150x) cards.
I just got a "Topram' 4gb 150X...despite formatting both via card reader and my device it will not read...
Does it show the card size in the Memory cp? Or can you just not transfer files to and from it?
neither...as soon as I insert it into the 2i I am asked to format it to make the card ledgible...so I agree...but it still does not show up at all. Neither in memory size menu or file explorer.
I have formatted it via card reader on the compeuer too...It accepts files via card redaer so the card itself is ok.
But every single time I insert it into the PDA it asks me to format it again and it never shows up.
bit off topic but as anyone else had a problem with SD/MMC cards working for a while (sometimes as little as 6 months other times over a year) then totaly stopping ie show as not being there in any card reader, only to come back to life after about 12 months stuck in a draw. I have had this with 2 cards so far and got 1GB card in the draw at the moment which stopped working just as I put some important files onto it
SD Cards
I have a 4GB Transcend, 2GB SanDisk and a 512MB Unbranded and they all work perfectly fine in my xdaIIi, maybe your card reader is a bit iffy?
EDIT: By card reader I mean the bit that you insert the card into the xdaIIi
It may simply be certain makes of cards that work, and certain that dont. All you can do is hope the retailers let you try before you buy

erm... u made sure u formated them as FAT not FAT32? i had no end of probs with my 2020 when i did that, and the 1gb unbranded card i have in my 2020i is FAT and works fine, as most hand helds and camera (i use it in my konica/minolta SLR digital, it hates FAT32 file systems too) format them as that and jobs a good one!
Hi all
when i bye my viva i used a 1GB micro sd card which was too slow
last week i bought a new one. a Toshiba 8GB Class 4 Micro SD.
its a class 4 micro SD but the speed is the same as my last 1GB MSD.
it takes so long time to copy heavy files using active sync, whats wrong? is that viva's problem? what should i do?
I'll be thankful for any help.
use the Disk Drive mode or use a card reader instead.
no diffrent disk drive mode is the same as active sync.
i used disk drive mode and copy a file to micro sd, it shows 460 kbps!!
a class 4 micro sd card should has at least 4 MBps write speed
and using a memory reader is hard cus everytime that i want to copy
a file i shoud turn off the phone remove the battery and ...
copy small chunks
Don't try to copy GBs together.. break the data into small peaces say 100MB..to copy..
My sandisk card halts copying if i try to copy a big bunch of data in one shot..
Give a try...
maybe the error not with ur sd card ... maybe with the usb port that u using ... use another port hehe try it

The card is class 4.
But the Touch Viva only supports upto class 2. So u will get class 2 speed nonetheless... :-(
sunk8 is right, it isn't a problem with your memory card. Even if you use it in disk drive mode, it's finally comes down to the lowest speed in the chain which is your phone.
Thanks to all
EDIT: Nevermind. I'm new to OSX and didn't realize that when I delete a file on the sd card it doesn't actually delete the file until I empty trash on mac.
I bought a 16GB Class 6 Adata micro sdhc card from Newegg several months ago. I never thought there was any issue with the card as it showed up as 16GB on my PC and in phone settings.
Yesterday the sd card memory was full which seemed weird since I knew I didn't have that much data on there. On my PC it said the sd card was 15.9GB full out of 16GB. I roughly added up the size of all the files on the SD card and it came out to slightly under 4GB. It appears my 16GB sd card is really a 4GB sd card.
Has anyone else had this experience with the Adata 16GB card from Newegg? I know it was a fairly popular buy.
Going to a 8GB from a 4GB. Currently on CM6/Froyo. I DO have a few apps installed to the SD card. If I have both cards plugged into the PC, one through my phone the other through a media slot, just copy and paste to the 8gb card. Shut the phone off, replaced the 4gb card with the 8gb card, am I good to go? Am I catching all my sd apps?

Just copy and paste from one SD to the other and replace..

Hi guys,
Have a brand new, shiny Galaxy Tab 7" from Telstra, Australia.
I have tried a 8Gb and 16Gb MicroSD card (formatted to Fat32 on my Win 7 laptop) and neither card is seen by the SGT.
When I check Settings/ SD Card..., for External SD Card shows Total Space unavailable, and Mount SD Card is dulled out, and says Insert SD Card
However when i physically eject the card, a Removed external SD card message is flashed in top bar.
I have a 2Gb micro SD card, formatted to Fat16, and it is recognised by the SGT no problems, and I can UNMOUNT it and format it.
Also, if I power off/on the SGT with the 8 or 16Gb card in the machine, I then 'lose' the internal 16Gb, and it shows as unavailable.
Remove the card, reboot, all is ok.
SGT stuffed or am I missing something???
Most probably SGT needs to be replaced. OR is unlikely that both your 8 or 16 gb cards corrupt (only time i haf your same issue when my nokia phone card broke).
I bought a 16gb from eBay and it didn't work so I bought another and that didn't work either.
Turns out they were fakes so I bought a decent 8gb and all is well.
What brand are the cards?
