Does anyone know if the SHIFT3R 2.2 rom update will come with a built in screen capture app? On CM7 you can hold down the power button for a moment and see multiple options (power down, reboot, screen capture, recovery, etc). SHIFT3R 2.1 has all but recovery and screen capture options. According to dhacker29, a trustworthy source, SHIFT3R 2.2 will have the recovery option.
I am posting this here because I havent posted enough to post in the Development subforum.
Im running the D3BLURR Pak and it is freaking flawless. Its seamless yet stupid fast! The only thing thats missing is the screen capture option.

for the ones that do not have the same speed like before, there are some things, everybody should consider:
1. go into recovery and delete "dalvik cache", "cache" and "battery stats" from time to time.
2. use fstrim
3. delete cache under ->settings->storage
4. delete all temorary apps -> press and hold home ->than delete all the running apps
5. set animation(s) at 0.5x
now you should feel a speed improvement.

Well, it seems that is not a priority for the devs, but they will do it (I believe on it)
A note for them:
You are making a fantastic job with your ROM for our Black, but as for usability a few notes.
- FM radio (no chance, that's acceptable, for me )
- GPS (come on, we had nice GPS with some JellyBean ROM's, Mackay ROM for ex. Thats indispensable for most users, and maybe not hard to fix as other things).
- Bluetooth (you have almost made the job, but bluetooth streaming has still problems, the music doesn't play flawless, impossible to listen a music).
For me, there are 2 things that keeping me out of this ROM (GPS and Bluetooth). But I'll keep trying every week.

black screen issue
After I install the firmware(2014-10-26) on the phone, run the phone, everything seems fine. But after when the screen is locked, I cannot unlock it , hardware button backlights is on, but there is no picture on the screen. I flash back the nightly 2014-4-13, everythings is working normally. so I confirm that' not the hardware problem .

GPS has always been causing problems on the p970. It was crap on stock and custom roms so don't get your hopes up on that one. I don't think that they will bother to try and make it work.

Oh.. Thanks. Then i keep on waiting for another OB like phone. I can't go back to ICS.. So far none of the companies made a similar phone. They either make giant phones or ugly phones ...etc. Z3 compact was a thrill when i first read about it. Amazing phone but it has a very serious problem. It can't be rooted unless bootloader unlocked. With cause phone to lose very important features....

Camera problem
It is the best ROM I have try for my P970 so far, everything work, except for the camera.
When I take a picture, the backgroud of the camera stay stock with the last picture I take. To be able to take another one, I need to close and open again the app.
Also, when I try to record, all my video have the extension .MP4.TMP and I'm unable to read it.
I try Google Camera and I got the same picture problem.
I use the nameless version : 4.4.4-20141215-p970

Camera: is working, more than 20 Pictures in a row, switch tu HDR an back is working, wow!
Bluetooth: is working, succescfully send a Picture to my Kubuntu Laptop
Phone: is working
First point - the Keys are little small, is it possible to make them bigger, just like in CM 12?
Second - the feture " Glove Mode" is missing, even in CM 12 it is visible, but not working
Thats a big Point for me, i work most of my time with GLoves...
So i switch bak to my old Firmaware CM11
- and try the next release

Fast forward today, every camera app (native camera and google camera) gives me the error message "cannot connect to camera", will the lib from the previous post work "http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/17-fixed-camera-app-lib-cm-aosp-roms-t2505973" ? has anyone tried that one - it says S3.

I test the camera APP and it show me, photocamera do not work. Videocemara doesent work in SD mode but in HD mode it work.
I have Probleme with mobile data mode. I am locked in Google. I can search provider and registred in but the ! stand. Wifi work.
I don't can tapatalk lock in with facebook the display go black.

I´ve been using this Rom since it came out and it works fine for me as a pretty stable daily. Camera crashes on occasion and Audio.fx crashes too but otherwise no major problems and good battery life.
This build is solid until I got calls or called someone, they can't hear me I deduced that because I can hear them clearly. Anyways, a reboot did the trick.

I cleared the cache and settings of Google Camera (Downloaded App) and disabled the default Camera App - to avoid multiple applications accessing the Camera.

Power and volume down
I installed last alpha, Some gps problem. i'm not able to use gps signal, no satellites fix.
Strange bug popped up all of the sudden! When setting the alarm clock in the custom clock, it crashes all of a sudden. Strange, because it has worked without problems until now?? I´ve tried uninstalling and installing again, but no help there.
Any chance this wil be revived?

Hey all, been a while since I've had any new discoveries because I have been busy with a move across the country, but I think this one was worth waiting for :good:
This post is a tough one to categorize, as its an "app" and its a "mod" but I also needed to include a little guide to help you all get it working. So I went with the Apps and Mods section, but if an Admin thinks this should go in the Guides section, I am totally cool with that.
Pre Install Notes:
This has been tested on my Rooted & Frankensteined LG V30 ThinQ LS-L998 on Sprint running US99827a software Security Patch Jan 1.19.
I do not know if this will work on non rooted devices simply because I haven't been able to test it on one. I do believe that this will work the same on a non-root V30 but I'll wait for confirmation from one of you... SOOOO if you have a non rooted device and you try this out, please let us know if its working.

I cant begin to list everyone, but if you are active in here, you know who the folks are that have been grinding away at this all this time.
Ok so lets get you CineShooting!
Step 1) Go to the following link...

Steo 1a) Download, and install the CineShot apk.
(Im hosting this on one of my drives, so if anyone has issues with the download, now or months from now, PM me and I'll fix it. If its a while from now and you just write "dead link" in this thread I prob won't see it, so that's why I am recommending a PM. )
(Since I have not yet figured out how to integrate this new app into our camera app, you will need to launch the CineShot main process using one of the programs I will mention in step 2. I am including some screenshots for those new to this. Hopefully this post will be updated in the future with how to integrate the cineshot capabilities into the regular camera section, but for now this is what we have)
Step 2) Once you have installed the CineShot apk to your device you will need a shortcut maker program to access it.
Personally I am partial to Shortcut Master, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite&hl=en but other apps like "QuicksShortcutMaker" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut&hl=en_US (tested and works) should word as well. So if you don't already have one, download one of those two or your own favorite.
Step 2a) Open your shortcut program and find CineShot by either scrolling to it or searching "Cine" or "CineShot". No matter which program you used you should see at least one option under the CineShot app ending with the words ".MainActivity ". Go ahead and favorite or create shortcut for this process, as you'll want to have a quick way to get back to CineShot mode. Now go ahead and click that option and your device should launch into cineshot mode.
Cine Shot Mode - How-To:
Pretty basic stuff here. Point and shoot at whatever you want (objects should be moving in your frame otherwise your just taking a normal picture). It will record 3 seconds. After it stabilizes your "video" it will then show you options to draw with your finger on the moving parts of the images that you still want to move. Do this, and then save. You now have a cineshot image with partial movement of the image.
That's it. Pretty easy stuff. If you followed the very simple steps you should be able to record using either your front or back camera, and cineshot should be fully working, or at least as fully as it can on our devices. Enjoy.
I don't have any fun stuff nearby to post a good example of a cool Cine Shot Pic, so if you guys and gals take any, please share so people can see what the fuss is about.

Side Note: From that same cache of G8 apks, I was able to get the My Avatar app partially working using the same steps as above but with that specific APK obviously. Unfortunately, while it will take my picture, it will not spit out an avatar, so some sort of framework or back end stuff is not enabled. Anyone that has access to the newer devices with this, if you can find the additional necessary files, we could prob get this working too.

Other apps that I got to install from the g8 are these: Humanavatar (My Avatar) LGContentsettings (Wallpaper and Theme. Not sure what this updates though) and an update to the Tasks app.
Be cautious installing things you don't know anything about. As always, its your phone, so beware, and there are no guarantees yada yada yada.
It doesn't integrate with the camera because only camera apps built for pie onwards have that functionality. Once enabled in camera config files it crashes the camera app immediately.

Any idea why it crashes it? I mean other than it wasnt meant to work. Since the actual mode is functional I wonder if anything is actually missing in the Oreos framework/camera that needs to be there.

The app doesn't have the shortcut built in. Only camera apps built for pie or newer have it. It's not framework. It's just the camera app.

I'm glad you commented, as I was going to message you to ask your opinion on the My Avatar creation feature I mentioned after the original post. I can get it to snap a pic of my face, and it recognize I'm a person and takes the pic, but when it goes to process and spit out an Avatar it fails.
Since you're a good bit more advanced than I am, maybe you had an idea about what's keeping it from working.

It'll likely be working on Pie. I've made a list things I'm not going to attempt till we get pie.

It installs normally but won't actually produce an Avatar. It trys to process the pic and then it fails.
