I think this is the link he was referring too, looks like it just removes them vice letting you change the text though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034536
the issue is that its not in the same place as it has always been in the eri.xml in framework its stored somewhere else we just have to find it!

i need help with this i think they best you can do it would be make the header box smaller but you have to becareful not to make it to small since the clean notification button is in there people say its requires a total re write to remove the header but im sure u can make the height 0 and then maybe move the clear button to the notification tool bar but this is over my head
but the simplest way would be make the clear button smaller and then make the height of the header box the same exact size and then just make the carrier transparency 0 its what ive been working on but wont be able to try again until next weekend so it would be nice if some1 jumped in. If needed i can give the location and file names that need to be changed just PM me

About various other apps/widgets being skinned, well basically you can take the apk that it is in the theme and put it on the root of your sdcard and do this in the recovery console
Code:
mount system
mount sdcard
ls /system/app (only if you need to find the exact name, skip if you don't need the exact name)
cp /sdcard/exactappnamecapsandall.apk /system/app/exactappnamecapsandall.apk
awesome! keep up the great work

you are actually having a massive fail (but its ok). there are 3 files edited. one .png, one .xml, one .dex.
literally all this is is a black notification with the clock and date and the text for the notifications white.

Oh I see...thanks.
I would prefer black bars too, but the problem is that app icons are designed for white background, so some of them can't even be seen when the bar is black.

I personally never cared about the app icons on main screen; I only look at the tray icon and notification bar colors and icons.
The icons I'm talking about are notification ones like the one for Swift, which is just a black flying bird. This would be a black bird on black bar background, making it invisible.

i could but then if some of the apps or paid then it would be an issue of warez and i would rather not get into that. also it would need to be done every time the app is updated.
true. too much work and trouble. well then, guys if you want a simple black bar, be ready to sacrifice some notifications. none of mine are black, except weatherbug, but thank god you can change that one to white its an option in the app!

just download it, put it on the ROOT of your sdcard(meaning NOT in any folder) then go into recovery and just flash it like you would flash a rom.
basically its exactly the same as flashing a rom.
That's wat I did but it said bad file and then it aborted the instalation

hmmm. which one are you trying, also what did it say , did it tell you it was a bad file (i had that one with a rom, and redownloading it fixed it) or did it say something about about verification or not being signed properly?
I was flashing it normally and it said the blackbar(bad) instalation aborted I was using cm 4.11.1 but I will redownload and try again
i think it might be the signing thing.. does the file name have anything to do with it? cause i see for 4.0.4 it says signed but 4.1.11.1 does not. might be that?
crap i gotta go back to work. be back later!

nawh man, (or else i probably would've heard something from the 15 or 16 that have got it so far).
i think that means that the download got corrupted, try to redownload it and flash it again, if that doesn't work i will resign it and upload it again.
ok i tried redownloading but its not working with 4.1.11.1 then i tried to download the other one to see if it was a problem with my conection it downloaded fine. i think i might need a mirror
Hello everyone, I am hoping some more developers will try to help out and keep this project alive. Hoping these issues might be figured out by someone.
Issues:
3G and 1X dormant icons are default HTC as well as USB
White clock text
Clear button is dark with black text
Some things worth noting. The stat_sys_data_usb.png icon and the stat_notify_sync_error.png icon are already in /system/framework/framework-res.apk but the weird problem is for some reason these icons are not showing up correctly, and instead they default to HTC. Other icons in framework-res and com.htc.resources are not doing this.

There is a TON of info on editing task bars and other theme elements in the cdma hero section mater of fact a good deal of their stuff works with various eris roms. Some of the roms running over there are legend or eris based now we have ports based off the Sprint roms so theyre themes and various add ons working also (ive tried a few) as far as text and icons I believe it has to do with the .9pngs etc...give it a read and there are a ton of helpful heroc fellas. chubz, vince just to name a few.
Yeah I've been waiting for someone to come up with a fix for the clock font color, but it seems to be fairly difficult to find? Or perhaps other things are being worked on by the limited amount of devs we've got on the Eris.
you forgot me the guy who was trying to finish it, and posted it for all!:d

I'm a super noob at this, but I spent part of the day yesterday trying to fix my title bar with the icons I wanted in the Aloysis ROM. It seemed like the text color and icon image files were referenced by xml files? Have you tried looking there for fixes to your issues?
For the record there is a hero theme the Aloysis 4.1 ROM is based off of which may be configured close to what u want. I wanted to configure mine to look more like yours but I got frustrated and gave up.

Ok, so I've been using that APK Manager to change the slider and unlock on the WidgetLocker screen, like that thread provides.
I thought I'd give it a try with my "SMS Unread Count" apk that I have. I changed the icon successfully and now I'm wondering if I can change the little red circle with the number in it? To another color. Where would that be?

Ah. That's way beyond my level for now. Thank you.
I have a sort of simular question... forgive me if i shouldnt post it here..
I was thinking of replacing the sms-unread icons for my lockscreen. And i wonder if it is even possible.
What i want is:
when there are no missed calls - no icon is visible
when there are missed calls - icon and number of missed calls are visible!
Same for sms (and mail)
Is this possible? If yes how? If someone could give me a little push in the right direction i will ofcorse try it myself and share it here!

when i pull the apk (i used apk-manager, should be ok i guess)
i can only see 1 png. so that is 1 png for both 0 and more missed calls.
since i want to see no icons when i have no missed calls i figured i needed 2 images: 1 "invisible" and 1 "normal".
Is this possible or should i get deep inside the code for that?
Uhm..
No. Use CMD to pull the apk.
Rename the .apk to .zip
res\drawable - There are all the images.
You need to edit the ones you wanna.

All pictures (pngs) are located in the drawable folders.

But that is not the problem!
i want the widget be invisible when there are no missed calls and visible when there is a missed call.

DUDE.
You obviously need to edit the images, something along the lines of:
- Make the NO MISSED CALLS image 100 % transparent
- Make the MISSED CALLS image .. whatever you want.

Use APKManager to decomplie the XML first.
It's basically binary if you don't decompile it.

Hey, just a heads up, I don't think the link with instructions for hiding status icons i sent you is accurate when it comes to hiding the GPS icon. I tried it but couldn't get it to work. Also, any chance of hiding the alarm clock too?
I also noticed that the trash can for removing apps/Widgets from the desktop is ick color. I haven't found any other remnants of wrong colors, which is quite impressive for a first theme. Kudos to you my friend.

You mean the plain colored quick pop up trash can or the red android at the top?
I Skipped over all the widgets and home screen long press menus cause I never used em, i'll take a look

Simply just making the icon all transparent with no logo would simply take it away but not sure if there'd still be a space in the status bar.
There will be, tried that already. lol
I'm trying to edit the status_bar.xml to remove/change the formating of space to even allow it to be drawn there, wich was easy enough but apk tools bein stubborn, i posted my log in general HERE.
Ok, I found out why the SystemUI.apk won't recompile for you. There are two files that need to be deleted, and you need to replace one other file that is corrupted.
Decompile your SystemUI.apk. All the relevant files are in res/drawable-hdpi/ First, delete:
status_bar_close_on.png
statusbar_background.png
Those files are redundant because they have .9 versions. Then you need to delete status_bar_close_on.9.png and replace it with a file of the same name. For some reason, this file is corrupt and is screwing things up.
You can then also just drop my statusbar.xml into the res/layout/ folder.
As proof of concept, here is the status_bar_close_on.9.png from ICK and my statusbar.xml (with appropriate color and 2.6dip for the top buffer) dropped into your theme:
https://www.box.com/s/796e172de222cba000b9
I don't remember if you had the date in the statusbar the same cyan color, but after flashing the above zip, the date, usb, and debugging icons in the status bar are white.

Hey guys. So one problem I've been trying to find a solution for is I like allot of information in my status bar but I have so much in it I keep running into the issue of the text and icons overlapping. For example when I use Wanams setting to center the clock allot of things overlap or when I try to add more and nothings overlapping it whatever is on the right side just runs off the screen. Is there a way to create maybe a marquee style where I could add as much I wanted and just have anything that runs off the screen in the status bar constantly scroll across? Currently running Firekat v6.

Bro I thing your font just sux... change the font or the size of it. See attachment.
Yeah man I know it is a little on the bold side but I kinda like it, other than changing the font I'm thinking there's gotta be another way because no matter what the font someone could have too much up there and be facing the same situation....

At least you could make the font smaller and honestly I don't know a mod to make the icons scrollable..

Hmm, well just noticing how when the network speed indicator changes everything to the right of it expands to the right and the contracts back, wondering if that could placed on the left and tweaked to pull everything on the right smoothly to the left, then repeat... Not trying to kang though
Lol like pac man in your status bar? That's a fun idea
