Manual PRL update failure (phone shut off instead of reboot) any solution? - Touch Diamond CDMA

I just flashed my wife's Sprint Diamond back to the eyecandy Gadget ROM. It's been a problem with this ROM that the PRL update/profile update is not functional. So I used the manual update.
I downloaded the PRL files from both Diamond sub forum and TP2 sub forum (newer), first of all, I assume PRL files are not device specific, is that right?
Anyways, then I dialed #775, input the code and get to the PRL update interface, I specified the file path that leads to the PRL files I put in Storage card, then hit "OK". A msg popped out asking if I want to update the device, I hit "OK", then the phone shut itself off instead of "rebooting" according to all the PRL manual update instructions. I had to press the power button to get the phone powered up, and then when I checked the PRL version, it remained unchanged.
I tried both the PRL from diamond and TP2, also tried putting the files in phone memory as well as strorage card. Results remained the same.
Can anyone help me out? TIA

Try with QPST

Me too,
Have you try to update PRL via QPST???
Note: I had problem find one QPST that pass my antivirus software and that works with HTC Touch Diamond from Sprint. I guess I'm missing something.

PRL changed to 26583 middle of the night!!

My PRL changed last night and no matter what I do, I can't get it back. I am constantly roaming now with 1x data. I've been running Damage-Trev 2.6 for several weeks with no issues up until now. Does it have something to do with 2.1 comming out. My PRI is still the same and just fine, it's only my PRL. Any help would be appreciated!

keep running that update PRL thing again, it will switch back.. It's a glitch. has happened to me like 5 times
I'll keep trying, thanks Daniel!!
had this happen to me as well I was using the verizon radio.....it wasnt exactly the same PRL but it was 27xxx and I was Roaming.
I flashed the newest Radio and then went back and updated the PRL and that put me back the xxx64 PRL that I had prior, no more roaming.
This happened to my wife. These instructions worked. Unzip the 60664 file and save just the prl file to your sd card. Do not try to flash the zip.
koricua74 said:
the same thing happened to me you'll have to flash the 60664 PRL manually.
1. Put the prl file on your SD
2. Enter ##775# then press Call
3. Enter your MSL (If you don't have it call Sprint tell them your trying to manually update your PRL and they should give it to you know problem)
4. Select the prl file
5. Press the menu button select commit and off you go.

[Q] Can't manually update prl?

Hi, all
I have the 60671.prl for Sprint put in my /sdcard/, ##775# located the file and committed the changed. Then my phone said "wait for ...." and never reboot. I have to adb reboot or pull battery reboot, and it is still the old prl. How to get the new one on my phone without OTA. Thanks!
why dont you use CDMA workshop to put the prl in it? or have you tried that method?
I think you are right, I should use cdma workshop to do this one.
And, it is done by workshop 2.7. Thanks!
Just wondering why I can't do the new prl file in ##775#? Thanks again!

[RESOLVED] No Service (Text, Data, Voice), PRL Version 1

My HTC One is with Ting, but before you scoff and turn away, Ting almost totally uses the Sprint network and standard Sprint troubleshooting should work for my phone.
My device cannot get any sort of service: voice, data, nor text. None of it works. I can update profile with no problem because that can be done over Wi-Fi. PRL cannot.
Though, I am a bit beyond what you would consider standard troubleshooting. I have:
Manually programmed by doing ##MYMSL# and I get "Commit failed" upon pressing "Commit modifications"
Attempted to manually update PRL and profile in Settings
I am on the latest OTA (3.05.651.6)
PRL version = 1 (if I do a factory or carrier reset, it is 00000)
Performed a carrier reset (##72786#)
Performed a factory reset (Settings, HBOOT, and recovery)
Performed a reset via ##786#
Attempted to push a PRL through both CDMA Workshop and QPST; both failed
RUU'd to stock and then updated back to latest OTA
It is possible that some NV data got messed up somewhere. Usually I would just get the device replaced, but in this case I can't as there is a minor crack in the top right part of my device's screen.

Yes, I have. I knew I was missing something in the list. I went all the way back to the original RUU and did each update since then.

As odd as it sounds, flashing CM11 fixed it.

No network connection stuck in airplane mode

I have a Note 8 N950U that was originally on ATT. It was bootlooping and I got it to work somewhat by flashing the ATT_N950USQS4CRE1_ODIN firmware using the moded odin file. The phone will boot and all seems to work but it will not work on a cellular network. It shows the "no network connection" error and the airplane mode switch is highlighted as if its on but it is not on. I've tried resetting the network settings, reboot with airplane mode on, etc. I also have tried several different working sim cards and all do the same. The phone does recognize the sim because it sees my phone number in the settings.
I recently reflashed the device using the N950USQS5CRG9 firmware, and still have the same issue. the device boots and all seems to work except the cellular network. I also tried different APN settings as well.
I seem to be having trouble with other firmwares because odin will just error out on me. These are the only 2 firmwares that I was able to get to flash. So is this a firmware issue or a hardware issue? I would really like to get this device to work if at all possible. So, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
TIA to all!!!

What version of the bootloader are you currently on now? And did you flash a CSC file from AT&T and then do a factory reset in recovery mode?

I am currently on N950USQS5CRG9 bootloader. And yes, i flashed this CSC file, CSC_OYN_N950UOYN5CRG9_CL13949550_QB19107689_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT, which I believe is an ATT file. I did not do a factory reset in recovery mode after the firmware flashing. The device was factory restored prior to flashing though. THanks for the help, I've been messing with this for a week now...Thanks again.

Try going from CRG9 to N950USQU5CRIA because that could fix the problems.. Download the update.zip from the website put it on your SD card and then boot into recovery mode and select flash update from SD card and let it do its thing after you select the update file.. You have CRG9 still and you'll be able to flash back to it too if you have to for some reason.. The website is here put your model of phone in from the dropdown menu(Note 8) and then the next dropdown menu select your CRG9 firmware and it will give you some updates but take the latest version that's N950USQU5CRIA not the old ones after it flashes try a factory reset again!! OK, went through and did exactly what you said do...the update went through and finished, the phone rebooted, and then I restarted phone and did factory reset, and I went thru the setup and the update did take, but still same issue. Tried 2 different sim cards that work in other devices and still no network connection and airplane mode is still highlighted as if its on. No signal bars just a 0 with a / slash through it.
Any other ideas? Really do appreciate the help. TIA!!

Try this.. From the home screen, tap the settings icon, scroll down until you see General and select it, scroll down until you see the reset option. Select reset. You will be taken to the reset screen. Select Reset Network Settings, if your phone is password protected, enter your code. You will be taken to a new screen confirming your selection.
And the last idea I have is that you have a hardware issue if the above didn't work and there's something broken internally and you need to go to AT&T immediately and have them either replace that phone or call Samsung because there is a 1 year warranty on the phone for free from Samsung and they'll fix it and return it so long as it's not from something you caused, like water or dropping it and breaking it.. Also, where did you get that phone from? Is the IMEI clear?

That's one of the 1st thing i've tried before anything else. It says it resets successfully, but does not fix issue.
Unfortunately, I got this second hand...It worked great until it started boot looping, so returning it, isn't an option. I guess the baseband chip
got messed up some how. Anyways, thanks a million for the help...it was much appreciated.
