Hi everyone!
I hope i'm in the right sub-forum here...
I'm trying to find out how they accessed the hdmi output on the optimus 2x in the videoplayer app to maybe push a second user-interface on the external display...
already tried to reverse engineer the videoplayer apk, but cannot fully decompile it
did any of you maybe stumble upon an hdmi lib or something when working on custom roms?
best regards

checked the source, couldn't find anything there :/
but thanks for the hint
There's some low level driver code:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=ke...ad97c6a90b011f08f8f4dbea6f1d37ea30ed6;hb=HEAD
It's not the media player but it is still interesting.
Have a look in the Atrix 4g development section, they've done the opposite of what you want. They replaced the webtop initializing through HDMI with mirroring instead. So if you moved things around you might be able to get what your after.

Picture please! Your dock or your dock icons not visible???
If, you dock icons not visible:
Go

presist.tablet.hiderecent=1
presist.tablet.hideback=1
All " 1 " to change " 0 "!
I'm having the same issue. I've been running CM9 on my Galaxy Tab (THE Galaxy Tab, not 7+, 8.9, or 10.1) and recently bought the desktop dock specifically for the audio out through the base station (looking to use it for a car PC application).
Sadly, no audio out through the dock :'( Have not tested HDMI as I don't really care about that. Anyone know if there is/will be a fix for this? I'd prefer not to have to go back to a TouchWiz based ROM.
I tried to report the problem on the bug treads, development treads and so on, but no one seems to care about this. I can understand that this is not a core functionality but it is part of the functions of the tablet. Maybe when the ICS rom will be stable someone will loose some time after this... I hope...
...BTW, even the HDMI does not work...
I think that CyanogeMod 9 will never work perfectly with the dock. It's just a random thing to have.
Is this dock referred to keyboard dock? I if yes, I I had the same concerns to having keyboard dock Samsung running on cm9(rc1)

No audio, I can understand. But are you saying that keyboard dock also doesn't work? Have you actually try this correctly?

Hi, I have no audio from the dock line-out which was working with the Overcome GB rom. I have searchedd the forums and tried the fixes suggested for the 10in Gal Tab, but no success. Anyone got any ideas for the 7in?
Thanks,

Hi!
I have the gt-p1000(gsm) with cm10.1 (android version 4.2.2) and still no audio from the dock port.
I use the tablet as a media source on my car, so I need audio out put from the dock port. I know, I could use the stock rom, but some my favorite apps work only on jellybeam and the bluetooth is'n working on android 2.3.6.
So if You are a guru, please look in to this.
Thanks.
I was disappointed, but not surprised to see that functions for dropping internal rendering and only render to the external screen were in-built into the media-player on the lg. I mean, having an overlay where you could switch context would have been just too easy, after all.
But is there a way to turn off the internal rendering and only render to hdmi? Since android has a composite manager on it's own, it seems strange it shouldn't be just a simply command for it, that would leave the phone context inactive, and the rendering context on hdmi. In the same way the media player works.
I.e., if playing netflix, you would just pick the source for the viewport, and leave the program just serving (while the view on the phone is inactive). Same with games.
Think it's possible to do that in an overlay? Or is it necessary to do it individually for each program. Or, more likely, that it's something that has to be implemented in Android at some point..?
I wonder how do you bring that content back to o4x to control the phone

I believe you can do that thru the secret menu. Dial 3845#*880# and go to HDMI settings and choose whether you want full phone mirroring or use as an extension of your screen so you can still use your phone to do whatever.

Oh, nice. Thank you. Doesn't seem to be any options to not run a mirror (see "full mirror" and "cinema" in the modes). And the changes don't do anything and don't stick.. But I'll look around some more. ..do you need to root the phone to change the options..?
update?

i know this is an old post i am responding to, but having searched all over i cannot find any update on the possibility of gaining a full 'mirror' display on my 4x hd.
did you have any luck getting the options on the 'hidden menu' to stick? it was the first thing i tried, but as stated no options stick once selected (i assumed it was going to be simple when i saw the option for 'full mirror' on the menu).
i have tried changing the options on 'hidden menu' pre and post root, to no avail. im gutted to find that this phone dosnt support 'full mirror' on the hdmi out, usb otg :crying:
if anyone knows how to do this on my rooted 4x hd PLEASE HELP!
cheers in advance!

but im still no further trying to gain fill mirroring of my phones screen on the tv.
although i just read some promising news for the development of features missing from the p880; mhl hdmi mirroring + usb otg, etc...

(i hope i linked it correctly, and doing so is within forum rules). regardless, massive thanx to user arnookie for contacting lg and giving the info.

i was wondering, is there anyway to port Smartshare to an installable APK for use in other roms?

Anything is possible, but it is highly unlikely as the LG apps require the underlying framework to function - which means they won't work on non-stock-based ROMs.
that sucks, so it's like some Samsung apps? Is smartshare the only app that can stream videos over wifi direct to a tv? is there any other app that can do this too? so far i have found none.

There not much widespread adoption of wifi direct in applications, but im sure there must be something out there to perform that function. Most modern tvs are capable of streaming for a upnp share, might be able to set one up on your phone.
something like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp&hl=en (i havnt tested it)
Various review have indicated that Quick Review for L90 works for TV, cable box, and blue ray. However, when I open the application on my Tmobile L90 D415, it only shows devices for TV and cable box, but nothing about other devices. Is this a limitation of the app on L90? Is there a way to add blue ray support?

This works another way paul. There are no infrared lights on your cell phone.
Um yes there is. Thats what the little ir bump on the top of the phone is for
Holy cow there IS!!!!! Well that's just the most fire thing I ever saw!!!!!! Its about time!? Sorry Paul, I'm going figure out all about how to use this and I will let you know! This is so cool!!

This may help you. It is stock Quick Remote of L90 (D-410) unlocked. Please ensure compatibility before installing the same. Thanks.
Thanks. Ima see if I can't make this thing work.
These fail to unzip. Its probably because I'm doing it with my phone (PC snt always available)
I put the for following in build prop:
ro. build.target_operator=TMO
ro.build.target_country=US
This doesn't make it work b t it only has TV and cable box settings. This is how it looks on stock so I'm getting closer!
on market, there are apps for remote but no support for our phone yet.
This quick remote app works with my sony TV.
But I wish the LG G2 remote app could be ported to our phone. I have d415 10e, stock rom, which unroots the phone.
I'm trying to make the app work with my zenith tv converter box, but no luck.
All the remote apps on google play suck big time. Flooded with ads and crap UI.
i try different versions too the last days, only one starts and show devices, but says no IR.... someone told me we have to change selinux mode . but our custom kernels have selinux disabled... maybe Shinobisoft or BigMajster could look at this....
it would be very nice if we got QR

Hi Mate,
I've got L90 D410 unlocked version with stock quick remote installed (that version 4.0.53).
The problem is that I can only program TV, DVD and Blu-ray devices... just that three kind, on the add device menu I can not see the rest of devices, so I cannot control cable box... ¿Any solution?
Thanks in advance,

Dear Bro,
This ir remote designed for TV, DVD and Bluray. It is not a Universal Remote, hence other devices like AC, Cable TV Box, Music Players are not supported.
Thanks
I'd settle for at least remote learning on D415. Can anyone confirm other variants of the L90 have this function?

Anything other tips or secrets I can do w/ the IR function w/ a rooted device?
Hi, why doesnt the L90 D410 support other devices like air conditioners, projectors etc.. Is there any way to make it work?
You can make the lg g2 app work on our phone it's just really buggy, I've managed to make it launch on marshmallow, no luck getting it to control the ir though.

If you are using stock ROM then just open the remote app, it supports a lot of devices. If you are using a custom ROM based on CM13 then you must flash a custom zip for the same functionality.
Be aware that the devices supported vary from region to region, and it's fixed by LG.
Help!, I am wanting to install Android 7 on my antiquated Nook HD that is running the original Android 4. My concern is that I am almost sure I loose the ability to use the HDMI adapter to my flat screen TV. This is a must. Is this an actual issue? If so is there a work around?

The last custom ROM that supported the HDMI out port is a version of CM13. It runs fine except for the idiot shutdown issue. If you want the ROM version and/or file, I can supply it.
Id like the Files and/or Tech info for the latest CM13 Builds/Roms for the Nook HD and HD+ (aka humingbird (HD) and ovation (HD+)) that Supported the HDMI adapter too. - direct download links to the actual files is preffered, though if that's tough to come by these days having the tech details of exactly which builds they are so I know which ones to look for and track down would help to.

This post contains working links for the HD+: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76449558&postcount=1
I'll upload the HD ROM to my mediafire account tomorrow.
Such a shame this feature fell by the wayside. No fussing about things that Chrome, etc. can't do. You just plug it in and go!
Edit:
Here is the link for the CM13 ROM for the HD: https://www.mediafire.com/file/8r4h4loinwm5zvn/cm_hummingbird-ota-MMB29T.160129.zip/file
You can flash with SD-based TWRP 2.8.x for Hummingbird. If, like me, you find the HDMI output orientation at odds with the tablet display, there is a way to tailor it to your preference: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-hd/help/solved-screen-orientation-vs-hdmi-t3701280
Thanks for the Info
Just wanted to say thanks for the info and the links. I just downloaded the files, and will try out the install this weekend. - I'll let you know how it works out for me. - TTigar
Quick Update: Just wanted to let you know the files worked for me, and i could use the HDMI adapter to send the screen of the nook to my TV via the HDMI inputs. The screen was flipped as you mentioned it might be, and the info in the other thread you pointed me to did help to fix that, thought it took a lot more work than expected to do it. (i may add more to this post later to document the lessons learned in the process, to help others.)
Thanks again for the files and the help.
