[Q] GPS fix from Captivate?

In this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881941 there is a nice GPS fix for samsung captivate. Do the captivate have the same chip for GPS than I9000? Can we flash that update to our i9000?
It would be very nice!
If the fix seems to not improve your phone's gps, here is an update.zip that restore the original settings (JPY)

Anyways, it did help me with my gps. I've been using it since Christmas.
I'm using the google version.

I've tried the google version and my gps isn't better... It seems very bad...
Anyone with jpy firmware can post his /data/gps/secgps.conf so I can make an update.zip to restore the original settings?

jpy already has most of those changes integrated.. ie it can use more than 8 satellites and ones under 20 signal which is basically what that fix did.. here is original file.
but i have changed mine to cold start mode.. i still get fixes in under 10 secs.

Gps not working on cm7 galaxy mini

Hi..i was using the original stock rom in mini..few days later i flashed cm7.. the problem is gps not works on any of the application while it was working when i was using stock rom.. any suggestion? Any solution?

try flashing gapps as it installs all google apps on cm7 and it may work..........

????????????he's asking about gps right???not gapps..btw,have u check on gps status?download it from market..then u can see if u got any satellite signal by using this app..find ur actual problem wether u can see satellite signal,but cannot lock or u cant even see any satellite signal..

i had the same problem...but I used some calibration software for gps i can't seem to recall the name now sorry gps toolbox or something like that

You have to flash fixgps.zip it should work then but i havent time yet to checkt it by myself if it realy works! And of course you need to have the older version of maps installed to navigate!

I have tried gps status and other apps.. the problem is it dont even see the satellite, locking the satellite is far away thing..
Before that, on stock froyo it worked very well.. but now messed up.. no gps signal or anything.. is it problem on cm7 or what else?

if u're using tj's rom,then just find fixgps.zip in his thread,flash it..if u're using squad's rom,try flash it again..btw,u're from stock froyo right?when u flash to gb,does the gps work?there some cases that when u flash wrong gb firmware like latin phone,flash europe firmware or vice versa,ur gps wont work..idk is it true or not..

[Q] Thrill mobile data not working !!

The mobile data on my thrill is not working, when i am connected to a wifi network the H+ icon and the signal strength bars are green but when turn wifi off or get disconnect the bars turn white and the H+ sometimes turns black and i cannot connect in the settings i have mobile data checked. Can someone please help me find out the problem? I am also rooted.

Check your access point names in mobile network settings you may have inadvertently changed them there are plenty of posts that can help you here

Yes the problem was my access point names but they are only working on the stock room can you tell me if this is a known problem with the cyanogenmod RCs.

CM nightlys and RCs are not worth flashing... something always goes wrong with them

ok thanks alot but one last question about them. I flashed the latest version for P920 and mobile data is only working when i turn on international roaming, should this be a problem?

Did you update your Thrill to the v20 baseband first?
If you flashed a late model O3D ROM on your stock Froyo Thrill, you will have no signal because of the incompatable basebands. You will need to either flash the baseband seperately to a US compatable GB one using LGFlash or similar, or reflash the stock ROM back on it and use the Lg Mobile Updater to load the official v20p Gingerbread update (which includes the currect baseband) before flashing a GB ROM.

same problem..
so, i bricked my Thrill.. i had help from The dark Lestat to recover it into working condition, but i try and use my data connection.. i get nothing? im using the v21.00b kdz stock rom.. and im from canada.

The other thread was closed due to use of Spanish I think...
I'm now suffering with this issue.. My city always had a good signal but from last days it started...
Happens every 5min ... Any tip?

Solved. Rooted (JB, finally!), installed Batakang ROM and *#*#4636#*#* (doesn't work at stock JB).. switched to WCDMA only..
Didn't have any disconnection again!

Yep but it worked great a few weeks!

is a problem with the quality of the phone network, to me was the same but only in places where the signal was not good, it is a problem of the radio that comes with JB

if we get root.. is it possible to change radio?

I think thats a boot loader thing? But if flashing via recovery can then yes.

I think this is not network fault..
I think that it happens only when the phone gets hot and the 3G is in use.. It won't happen while I'm at wifi

did I miss something, can you all say if it's the phone or network. Have a dual sim Huawei G500 works fine if both slots uses the same network.But once the other network is introduce, problems!!!

I installed the mexican retail and the fix radio but I no have good luck, my cellphone drop the signal, try install stock ICS

Hi, what i did to solve this is installing phone info and with it i can choose the network type. for some reasons when 4g signal isn't good enough it gives that error so i switch to gsm only and i never get that error in my house wich is mainly where it happens.

Gps help

Guys, i've been struggling trying to fix my gps problem on IZS or Marvel 11. it keeps looking for satellites and locks at an old home location...
there was a fix i tried in IZS and Marvel thread but none of them doesn't seems to work... do you guys know any other gps fixes?
im living in the cebu philippines. i just flashed v30c philippnes baseband. maybe it was one of the causes.... help me guys..

Download FasterGPS from the Play Store. You need a rooted phone, of course.
It just adds a /etc/gps.conf file with a single line pointing to a single nntp server.
It worked for me.
