hey guys, i'm selling my at&t tilt. the phone is unlocked and has hard spl on it, but still running the stock rom/radio. there are two issues with this phone:
1- the S key on the keyboard is missing (see picture). You can still press the button (takes a lil more effort) but the rubbery piece is missing. hasnt been an issue with me since i mostly use the onscreen keyboard anyway.
2- For some reason, when you put the phone to sleep (using the power button) it'll come back to life after a few secs, with the calender app open. it seems like the left soft key is being pressed even though its not (look at the keyboard pic and you'll see what i'm talking about). i've tried hard reseting and still does the same thing. the interesting thing is that when you leave the phone to go into sleep by itself (i have it set to 1 min) it doesnt come back on! so this also hasnt been a major issue, since you can just leave it for a min and it'll go to sleep and stay that way until you wake it back up with the power button.
other than that the phone is in great condition. there is a small scratch on the top left (see pic). The phone comes with:
-original box
-battery/charger
-carrying clip (see pic)
-extra stylus
-*MISSING* USB cable (you can get one for $5 online)
for those reasons i'm selling it cheap $200 shipped or $175 local pickup (i'm in south florida, ft. lauderdale) any questions PM me, thanks
omar
pictures of the carrying holster i'm including
just to be clear, the $200 shipped is only for US/Canada, it'll be a little bit extra for international shipping... and payment is by paypal only (or cash if local pickup)
i need this gone soon, so make offers! thanks
omar

Sadly, we recently had a case of a member who pretended to be selling Kaisers but was sending out "junk".
So -

hey mike,
i totally understand what your saying, and it sucks that you have to say it, but you definately have to. it sucks that a "respected" member of this community did what he did, and now theres a feeling of mistrust among the members.... thats why i would rather do local transaction
either way, thanks
Wanted good UK Kaiser repair shop/out of warranty repair & UK parts supplier - where?
Hi guys,
I have a working T-Mobilie Vario III (kaiser) and just had the warranty voided by HTC because the moisture sensor is activated (they say I have soaked it basically, I haven't).
The phone has had a long term (1 year) problem with the ear speaker not working and now my handsfree kit left speaker has broken so....
1) I need a parts supplier in the UK for a new handsfree kit
2) I need a decent, cheap, reliable independant repair shop who will fit a new ear speaker/fix the connection problem if a ribbon etc on this otherwise working Kaiser. Also my front and back covers are a bit scratched could do with new ones fitting while It's in bits.
I could fit a new ear speaker myself, but due to having to fully dissamble the whole phone to get to it and it possibly being a connection on the mainboard etc, I'm a touch reluctant. I have fitted a new screen to an xda exec and have tools, but little experiece with such small electronics.
Other option - if I put a new post on here and find someone with a bricked Kaiser with a good case/screen it looks easier to take out the mainboard/gubbins and replace them with mine and the 'under back cover' with my imei written on it. Am I right in saying this should be a good alternative?
Any help appreciated, this is a right saga and I really want it working again by xmas.
Greg.
Hi,
I managed to crack the screen of my Tytn2 a few months back, phone would turn on, screen go white, but no images were visible and a big crack was visible on the screen.
Luckily enough a quick search identified http://gsm-support.co.uk/ who are based in Barnet, London.
I found them via e-bay, not sure if they still advertise via ebay though.
I called them up explained by position and agreed an amount paid via paypal (£60, a little pricey, but I use my phone ALOT and couldn't be with out it for too long). I could have traveled to their place of business, where they would have conducted the works then and there, but was too busy so elected for postage.
Posted off my phone, (no battery, stylus, sim or sd card should be included while posting... their requirements not mine) and had it back, good as new within two days.
The phone had been hard reset, so I had to reinstall all my apps etc, but I keep back ups on my micro sd card, inconvenient but not a big issue.
Overall IMHO a very good service, quick, convenient and reliable.
Let us know how you get on.
I used Turn On Your Mobile in SW19
I had my USB port fail and to my delight found this firm near to where I live. They had the problem sorted in an hour and it only cost £40. I can thoroughly recommend.
Cheers,
Ashley
THanks for that! I got it fixed at Dr Unlock in Nottingham, £25 and it's fixed just fine.
Good to know HTC said it required a mobo, lcd, case and had water damage (no damage visable even under microscope, just a broken speaker).
Greg.
Hi Guys,
I have managed to pur two cups of tea on the screen of my vario 111. Screen will not responnd to touch any more, Plus I managed to hard rest forgeting that i had no touch screen so now locked phone as i cannot align my screen to continue with booting.
Does anyone know of a good repair shop in the portsmouth, including southampton Hampshire area who can repir my vario 111.
Kind Regards
Hi All
I'm about to sell my kaiser but my daughter dropped it outside recently and it damaged the casing, so does anyone know where to get a replacement outer case (& buttons) from?
I've seen kits on ebay for around £35 and although they have everything I need they include a keyboard which I don't!
Can anyone help??
Thanks in advance
Have a look at this link:
http://cnn.cn/shop/p4550-tytn-kaiser-c-277_447.html
I see the whole assembly on eBay for £35 including buttons & keyboard. if it has more parts than you need simply resell them on xda or feeBay & you'll recoup some of the initial costs too.
Thanks mister b but unfortunately only the keypad appears to be in stock so maybe I am looking at £35 on feebay!
Unless I can sell it as it is of course
I have a friend looking for a Kaiser.
Post or PM me photos showing current condition network lock status, price ect & I will pass it on to him.
yep ok will do, just so you know it is fully boxed with unused accessories that came in the box and is unlocked completely so it can be loaded with whatever rom you choose from here. At the moment it has a DUTTY rom on it, win 6.1 I think.
I'll take some photos as soon as I can!
Hi
Just sent you an email with piccys
I've just checked and the rom is exactly what it says on my sig. I thought I might have changed it since I put my sig up but I haven't!!
Hey guys,
I've been struggling with my N1 power button for a while now until in August it finally failed and my device wouldn't turn on anymore.
Since I bought my phone in Germany I hesitated to send it in. Not HTC is responsible for the warranty, but the seller himself. Anyway, I mailed them, sent it in, but they denied to repair it. They said some bull***t about me braking the camera. So I talked to legal protection insurance and they asked me whether I'd prefere to sue the trader or if I want to get 220 Euro back from them instead (because obviously suing would be much more cost intensiv for the insurance then paying 220 Euro). So I decided to take the money and either buy a new phone or try to fix the power button myself. And that's what I did.
I dissembled the phone and tried to solder the broken connections following this (http://youtu.be/k74D4dGGf4U) awesome guide myself. I do not have a lot of experience with stuff like this but I thought since I had already gotten the money "back" and the phone was not working I could at least try.
I did try and I did break the rest of the power button. So know I am not sure what to do. I see two options and very much would like other users comments on what I should do.
Try to sell the other components (screen, battery, logic board) and buy a new phone.
Replace the entire board with the camera, the led and the power button.
Ad 1.) Where would you sell the components? Ebay? Any other specific website?
And also, can you suggest phones to consider. I haven't followed the "android market" for a couple of months since it was not clear what would happen to my N1. I could buy a new N1 for about 210 Euro. Or a Nexus S for about 200. Are there any new phones that can compete with the nexus one in terms of openness, processing power, battery life & built quality? Or is the N1 still the best deal (especially for that price, I don't want to spend much more then the 220 Euro, I just got back).
Ad 2.) I've looked online, there are plenty of sources to replace the board with the flex cable ribbon. They range from 17 to about 70 Dollar. The difference seems to be that the ones are without camera, while the others come with a new camera.
Since my camera was working just fine I was wondering if it's possible to use my camera on another motherboard (I think that's the adequate name of the board I am talking about, right?). I couldn't find any reports online, but there is a spare part, which indicates, that it is very possible. Has anyone tried to replace a camera? Did it work? Is there a tutorial online?
Over all, I would very much prefere the second option. I have used my N1 only for roughly a year. I got the N1 dock. And over all, it would only cost about 30 bucks and a couple of hours. Also I would not have to buy a new phone and produce unnecessary technical waste.
So I'm very much looking forward to all your comments and help. For me that's a huge project. I haven't done hardware "hacking" before, so I will need all the help I can get.
Cheers, Armin
repair it.
Replacing the flex cable is not extremely difficult (medium diff.), and the chinese sellers in ebay will often bundle the tools required to open the N1's case.
By the way, the flex cable is not the mainboard, it's the cable that connects different modules (camera, led) and buttons (volume, power) to the mainboard, replace it, plug your camera and led modules to the new flex cable, make sure all connections are tight and your N1 will be as good as new!
I just repaired my N1, and I cannot tell you how awesome it felt when this little beast came back to life after months!
hey trschober,
thanx a lot for your reply. could you elaborate on how to switch the camera? it seems like it's only held in place by the bent metal. but i don't want to "force it out" since i dont want to break the camera (expensive).
does it come off easily?
also i didn't even know i could take off the led module. but now that i had a look at it it seems like i can just "pop off" the white rectangle.
awesome, i'm really excited right now!
well, i'll just order the part. we'll see how it goes.
I've never had to replace the camera, but from ifixit's pictures it is held in place by some sort of metal clip. There must be a place that you can push to get the camera module out without forcing it.
I can open my N1 on monday to check the proper way to unmount the camera module, but I doubt that you have to force it out, these electronic things don't work that way.
Yes, the led module just pops off, just be careful no to scratch the led itself, or the light will get blueish.
The hardest part of replacing the flex cable is popping off the bottom part of your N1, just use the proper _plastic_ tools to open it, or you will scratch the case. once you disconnect the connectors, the flex cable just slides upwards and out.
Recently I've reopened my HTC HD2 to glue the glass+digitizer better to the case since the replacement BUT I accidentally damaged the flex cable by cutting the UP/DOWN volume buttons flex....
...I've already ordered 3 from eBay and from different sellers and the symptons were:
1. Bad Sound through loudspeaker (static), Camera was flickering with pinkish tone
2. Bad Sound through loudspeaker (static), No Vibration
3. Bad Sound through loudspeaker (static), Vibration worked but no Proximity sensor (literally)
Suffice to say I've waited nearly 1 month for each arrival...spend time to install and make a video to show the seller I was not lying...and now I'm using the HD2 without the volume buttons but with everything ok....I'm nearly Ok wasn't the fact that the Vol keys have a number of functions I use: Camera button, Silence a call and most important flash new rom's.....
Can anyone help me find one that REALLY works?
I would say your best bet is getting a used device being sold with dead or broken original digitizer.
Prices are very reasonable these days & even if twice the price you will reclaim the cost by selling other genuine parts via eBay.
Quality of chinese manufacture on mainboard flex is going be a problem as they love minimal manufacture cost (even leaving components out:-O )

Maybe you're right...and that's what 'll try to do next time. What I don't understand is the large number of happy costumers buying those flex's and reporting no problems...
I think a lot of people write feedback before fitting or testing well.
I do suspect some work well but indeed they will not be near quality of original.
The digitizers & button boards are good but flex is one of those things where genuine if possible works out best.
Should be easy pick up a salvageable HD2 besides bad mainboard or digitizer & with your gained experience strip for parts.
maybe you can try on www.aliexpress.com
I recently bought this one - http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6129733847.html , but i've given my HD2 for assemblage, as I am not able to flawlessly do it personally . i can post the results in a weeks time and tell you how it works.

Same as ones on eBay - amazon, you'll find that seller on eBay too.
Main flex is always best salvaged from a cheap broken HD2 rather than copy part as just too complex & important for cheap china copy part.
