XDA Premium app now works with CM7 - Nook Color General

Finally, the XDA app works with their lastest update. Sheesh, this took a long time.
I have not tested the standard ad based app, but the premium app works fine and retains passwords and favorites without crashing.
Enjoy!

It's been working fine for me, for like... ever =\ since nightly 19 I think, is when I jumped into it.

No go for the standard app on my nook running Philremod v6 (CM7 final-based).

Free will get it eventually, I suppose. Just another way to get you to pay. I'll wait.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully they will fix that too.

XDA app force closes on Nook Color

I've been having issues with the XDA app while using Froyo or Honeycomb from the SD card. The application frequently force closes.
Also if I try XDA through the web browser, I can't use the search function. I click search, the drop down dialog box appears, but as soon as I click on it to enter text, it goes away.
Seems I can't really use XDA from either app or browser on Nook with Froyo SD or Honeycomb SD (though both worked with a rooted Eclair).
This expected behavior? Any stability differences if I were to flash Froyo to the internal SD (using a class 6 SD card currently)?
NC XDA force closing
I am having the same issue and I Froyo and Homeycomb flashed it to the internal memory....
I am too... I even paid $.99 for the Premium edition to see if it would fix it.(and because I use this site enough to give back a little)
It always crashes for me whenever I sign in to my account
otherwise it seems fine.
Same here. As long as I don't sign in I'm good. If I sign in the app bombs out.
Ditto everybody
I sign in, open a hearted forum, FC.
CM7 nightly v14.
Using XDA Premium on Nookie Froyo 0.6.8, on the eMMC (Flashable thru CWM).
The FIRST time I opened it, there was a force close.
Since then, not one issue--signed in or out.
Same here. I ended up just getting Tapatalk (which is what XDA app is based on) and it works great with XDA as well as many other forums. No FCs at all.

Is that the paid program which costs about 23hkd? or did I miss something in my market?
I am running CM7 v13 and I get a force close after signing in and clicking on a thread. Droidforums app works great though both built off of tapatalk
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Ok, purchased the Tapatalk app. All is well now.
Bought tapatalk. Everything is fine. it also provides a long list of pop forums to choose from. Furthermore, it turns out that 23 hkd is about 2.8usd which makes it a decent deal.
Sent from my Nook Color (zoom2) using Tapatalk
I don't mind shelling out another buck or two on Tapatalk, but I'd also love it if XDA Premium would work on the NC
Anyone have any suggestions on how to solve the FC?
I've run the Fix Permissions, uninstalled/reinstalled/rebooted etc. No love.
I'm running the emmc CM7 23 nightly with the Dalingrin 3/16 OC, ADW Launcher.
I'm having the same issue with the xda premium app. Works great until I log in and then FC as soon as I try to do anything. It worked fine running 2.1 but I recently upgraded to phiremod 5.1 and that is when the problem began.
I guess there's no solution for this? I'm also getting this error with a few other apps after flashing to 5.1 that were working before.
Still worth the update but frustrating for the few apps that will not work now.
5 dollar bounty for a fix.
Same issue, phiremod 5.1 and latest OC kernel as of 3.16, Soon as i try and open a thread or close the app if i signed on, i get a FC.
Premium app or not, this thread seems like alot of, ME TOO, or USE tapatalk..
i want to use the app i paid for, any dev's have any suggestions?
I will gladly send logcat if needed, i just want XDA app to work on my nook color!
Please... i put a 5 dollar bounty on a fix.
killster
So, just use Tapatalk instead of XDA, or install Tapatalk then run XDA?

I am running it on my stock wifi Xoom and it works, although is sluggish at time. I did not need to do anything special other than install and open. It will hang occasionally, but works more often than not.

Netflix on the market? for stock 2.2 no less

So I downloaded netflix from the market, and it says in the list of supported devices that the HTC Thunderbolt is one. Now it does install and accepts your username password, you can see your qeue and it attemps to play the vid, but fails with a DRM required message. any one else seeing this? if you search for it it will not appear, but if you select apps, all apps, free apps then scroll down its listed. click install and try to enjoy a mostly usable app.

it will never work on stock or rooted froyo for the thunderbolt (at least not without netflix directly supporting it). person that said it did on that forum is full of it. amount of effort to make it work would not be worth it. GB will be out soon and nearly everyone has it already on here. Anyone who wont root to get netflix obviously doesnt want it bad enough

Ok ok, im not a dev, but.... Look at the LG Revolution. It is running 2.2.1 and netflix runs perfectly out of the box. in my ignorance, I dont know why it would be any more dificult to modify it to work with other froyo devices. Im sure one of the software type bullys will pick me appart here.. By the way... XDA isn't a friendly place any more. boo to flamers... (will probably get flamed for that) HA

Netflix does NOT need GB to function, it appears as if it needs it for the TBolt but not overall. That being said they made Droid Bionic support available so take everything with a grain of salt. Maybe GB will be coming soon and rather than fix issues with the TBolt again soon they figured set it up for GB and users can use it then (and root users now ).

I'm running stock and is working great. Seems like a lot of the lag is gone with the menus. You might try uninstalling any previous version first.
mine as well is locked on the netflix loading. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the market and nothing.
same here. Reinstalled previous version
It was either my Tiamat 2.2.1 or something wrong with my GPS.
I moved to 2.2.2 and re-launched it, I saw the GPS signal in the status bar for a few seconds and then I was taken to the login screen. And now it works in Canada on rooted Xoom's!
I got Netflix in my Xoom and it´s working great even with ICS...

Hell yea!!!!
So, I've done some reading and I can't tell. I'm assuming since most of the posts are at least 4 months old, that the Netflix on Xoom issue is over, but my new Xoom is in the mail so I'm curious:
Is Netflix just another app available in the market or do I need to sideload?

[Q] getting pop-up play(super video) app to work on touchpad

Has anyone been able to get the pop.up play(super video) app to work on the touch pad?
This is driving me nuts, no matter what I seem to do all I get from the Google play store/android market is "this app is incompatible with your device"....
I've tried adjusting my screen dpi to various standard resolutions(120,160). I've tried editing my build.prop to trick Google play into thinking I'm running different devices( gt-9100, sgh-t989, and the note) and still got nothing
Google play refuses to see my device as compatible for just this app, these tricks have worked fine for everything else.
Is there something I'm missing here? Is there another way to force compatibility with this app?
I love this app on my galaxy nexus, and I'd love to get it on my touch pad as it would pretty much be the fine all piece on an otherwise awesomely running device.
They are both dual core 1.2ghz processors so the to should be able to handle the load, I'm not sure what's stopping
it!?
Any thoughts?

Hi SGA I dl the app and installed it on 1 tablet running your latest Rom and the other running nightly 09/03 . It installed fine on both but when I try to open it or a video where it is an option as a player it crashes/nothing happens.
Am I doing something stupid or is there a setting I should change?
PS love your new build just learning how to use it .
Thanks
Ressurecting. Although can install app from play store on touchpad but it still crashes. Using cm9 nightly sept 30
It will not work on CM9 but it is working on CM10 latest preview build.
