I don't know about everybody else but for me having the capability of having HTML Email on my corporate email is a must.
I can't stand the way the print screen shows on emails and excel images pasted are a total failure.
I wonder if anyone has managed to get HTML on his Exchange email account, or if there's a paid app that can do this.
On this the iPhone is better, the Exchange seems to have HTML Email.
Anyone?
Thanks

Thanks tried the trial and so far is WAY better than the build in Exchange App.
But locks the screen asking for password, and I guess there's no work around for that.

Evil Desire Port? Mail/Calendar apps are much better than the default Froyo IMO. A few features are different, but HTML no problem with that.
Touchdown is ok, but I wouldn't pay $19 personally.

Yes, it's been working fine for me on every custom rom so far.
A. Make sure your SIM Card is in the device when you d/l the application.
B. Call T-Mobile and have them manually add Visual Voicemail to your account. If it is already added to the account, have them refresh its activation.
Let me know how this works out for you.

Just curious as to why you guys would use T-Mobile VVM or other third party VVM software when there is Google Voice? Different features?

I've never made a comparison. I use it simply because it was preloaded on my first smartphone and it's never given me the problems some people seem to complain about, so I've never felt compelled to switch. I may migrate to Google Voice in the near future just to try it out, since I've migrated pretty much my entire life to Google anyway. Might as well throw them my voicemail, too.

Thunderbolt's version of Skype WITH VIDEO is now available.

i took a quick look... it appears that it would not be an easy & quick fix / rebuild i dont think, the entire program is written to use and be depended on <uses-library android:name="com.htc.device" />... before taking on this project id wait out as skype said that att was suppose to get releases of its video call first so id think we cant be to far behind
For anyone interested, here is the deodexed apk decoded and built with apk-tool.

it doesn't work because it was not made for this phone. even if it did install, it wouldn't work with our camera because moto uses its own camera driver since froyo doesn't have one (gingerbread will). htc uses its own FFC driver as well.

Because they contain drivers for all the phones they know of with FFCs I would bet.

Probably right. Here is Motorola's API:
http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/library/motorola-front-facing-camera-api/
It is so frustrating that using the same system (android) and also having a front camera but we cannot use the same app (skype with video).
yup but that was specifically develpoed for the thunderbolt, I assume if it does get officially launched with it, it will be a matter of time before that spreads to being on other devices (much like when they launched skype in the first place on android) the key question is will they fix the sound issues that moto's config gives these voip programs.

as I learned in the (otherwise useless) motorola atrix dev conference, the FFC driver for the atrix is written BY motorola. Android 2.2 does NOT have a standard FFC driver and so every phone that has an FFC and is running 2.1 or 2.2 is using their own FFC driver. That is why Tango and Qik did not work for the Atrix immediately when it was released, and Qik had to release an Atrix-only version of the app.
When gingerbread comes across all devices, it will have a standard FFC driver. But until then, every company running 2.2 uses their own and that is why these aren't compatible apps.

More than likely, it's because AT&T didn't want Skype to release it yet.. the carriers have a surprising amount of influence on app developers. Think of how the Inspire and Atrix still don't have HSUPA enabled whereas the iPhone 4 has had it since its release. My guess is they don't want to overload their already fragile network

Doing this caused me untold grief. My camera and gallery stopped working as a result. I thought it was a LP bug. I flashed the update, froze G+and no gallery. To cut it i used a file reader and found links, unfroze G+and got gallery etc back
Hope it helps someone

You on lolipop? It's purely linked to that. Use a file reader and you will see why the photo app is dependent on G+

I use quickpic instead of the g+ gallery, which keeps uploading my photos to the cloud without my permission...
You should be able to stop that. It's in googles rules for apps. If you are lucky and have the paid version of JRummys "Toolbox pro" there is a tool which shows how many secret radios each app has and switches them off if wanted. Some have a dozen each way!
I just downloaded it. I like the look but as you say there no do not send switch. It does say "upload list" or something. So it just ads pics to that? That's the only way it could do it. Does the camera have an auto upload feature? That would cause it
You can also use the stock Gallery app from KK. Works great without bugs
KK looks better by the day.. No I'm fine with g+on. I'm scared of the camera going again. That may of been a bug. I dont know but my fiance is 8000 miles away so Skype is vital and we send tons of pics. She's buying clothes now... The week with no camera was so bad I bought a 610 after a day to fill in

Try just disabling the app from the settings. I run with it this way and have no problems. Granted the photos app doesn't work but oh well I'll live. Google+ drains my battery anyway.
I think kk looks better, especially with the industrial design apps as they have a coordinated look, lacking b4. I used to hate HTC 's sense but the current version looks great, again with the new apps

Photos is embedded into Google+ and they got rid of the AOSP-ish Gallery on their factory images, like how they got rid of the AOSP Browser and added Chrome.
It is possible to use Google+ without Photos or vice versa, if you open a terminal emulator and disable activities with pm disable packagename.activityname
i.e. disable all the Photos activities and you have Google+ with Photos disabled, disable the Google+ activities and you have Photos without Google+.
What can't be done is separate them into separate apks.

This ^^^
I froze G+ and photos and installed QuckPic. Camera works fine with no issues
I deleted the following directories:
/system/app/Photos
/system/app/PlusOne
Then I deleted the following db files from somewhere in the /data directory.
pluscontacts.db
pluscontacts.db-journal
plus.db
plus.db-journal
Did all that from recovery.
Then I installed PicsPro.
Yes I've frozen it again and put the kk gallery in. Works fine. Reason for posting this is people who freeze G+ and loose photos as the bug in the 5 original LP had a bug where you lost the camera and photo for no reason, as happened to me. Don't want pple to mistake it for a bug.

So if you haven't heard, RCS is supposed to produce a iMessage like experience for text messaging in android. some features are:
-Send large sized files
-In app live notifications like (someone is typing)
Just to name a few. it seems like this feature is a little bit of a mess since it requires carrier support, OEM support and app support (not so sure about this one). I heard that the last Galaxy s9 update in July enabled support for this. Either way, question is simple.
1. When do people think this will reach the masses?
2. People who have used this feature/are using this, what are your thoughts about this?
I'm excited for this but it really seems like a faraway dream at this point. with that let's talk about this
