[q] why can't i install apps ???? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't install apps from the market. I can't even install AppBrain or my phone force closes.
Here's what you should know:
seeARMS Rom, Damian's Kernel, Android 2.2.
Things I have tried:
clearing cache via recovery
clearing dalvik cache via recovery
clearing data in Market app via settings
clearing cache in Market app via settings
NOTHING WORKS.
Nothing downloads. In the event that I boot into recovery and I wipe everything, I can download something, but it just sits on "installing" forever

Maybe try a different rom/kernel configuration, or just reflash a wipe version of the current ones. Sometimes right after flashing a new rom I have the market hang a bit and it seems like it isn't doing anything then I leave it for a while and miraculously it has worked.

Also try clearing the cache of Google Services Framework from the Settings > Applications > Manage Applications menu.

sorry boys none of these suggestions work.
I think it might have something to do with the ext4/ext2 setup I have

[Q] Market app update issues

I just reinstalled CyanogenMod and now I'm having a weird issue with the Market. The main Google account I use is not able to download any apps from the market. The secondary account I have has been able to update a few of the apps so I'm not real sure what is going on.
I have reset the data on the market, cleared the cache and dalvik cache, uninstalled market, reinstalled it using the gapps package and I am still having the same issues. After that I reflashed the ROM on top of itself only resetting the cache and dalvik.
Any ideas before I reflash the whole ROM from scratch?
Thanks,

[Q] What is happening to SGS?(incompatibility issues)

Hi, i am having some issues regarding apk compatibility, i cannot install some apps which in my opinion cannot be incompatible with SGS , i used to play some games and now i cannot re-download them.I have to mention that i am on CM9 21May nightly with black infinitum theme(the playstore colors are changed),when i switch back to stock theme from theme manager i am having the same problems. So, which is? is our SGS getting old? or i did something wrong ..
Can you provide any example and i can see if I can have that app on my SGS?
Lane Splitter, Draw Something.... there are more but i cannot remember all
Try clean cache in settings/applications/apps/market.
This usually fixes market problems
Or try move some of the games already installed to SD and use a cache cleaner(eg. Easy cache cleaner) to clear some memory
I cleared the market data and cache, nothing changed... i wonder why i have set my DPI to 218, i thought this was the issue:i set back to 240 cleared market data and cache again after reboot and still the same problem.
Try setting the dpi to 240, then reboot and once rebooted clear cache of market then clear data, then open market and click accept.

Playstore Problem.

I got a problem when i click download, it just the bar downloading, but it didn't show the process of downloading.
Even a few kb/s stuff also won't start.
Tried wipe cache etc, won't work too. Any solution?
Maybe us your Internet connection. Did you try using another access point?

Two options:
1. Go to settings applications. Find play store and Google services framework. Delete data. Go to recovery mode. Wipe Cache x3 and Dalvik Cache x3. Restart and try after 10 mins
2. If on Semaphore Kernel or similar. Use Semaphore Manager and untick 50MB virtual cache.

Problems installing Google Play Music

Hey guys, I just wanted to know if any of you had problems installing Google Play Music on their touchpads.
When I try to install from market, it says "app already installed". I pretty much tried everything I could think of, I tried installing via ADB with -r, I reflashed, cleared cache etc... but it still will not install. I never installed the application so I do not know where this error could come from...
I am running CM9 Fat and Creamy.
Any ideas?
That's the only app I use for music! I've never had a problem getting it to install. Chances are you might have it under your disabled apps. Have a look in your manage apps, and should be at the very bottom of the list greyed out if it's disabled.

Hey thanks for the reply.
The app was never actually installed... I looked again in the app section of the settings and reenabled everything, cleared cache and dalvik and rebooted, but it still gave me the error message when trying to install.
I guess I should try to wipe in CWM... (just to be sure, this will not erase the sdcard partition right?)
Same issue
I'm having this same problem. It seems to only be with Google Music because I can get other apps to download and update just fine. I've downloaded and installed the app on my phone which is linked to the same google account I wonder if this could have to do with it? Like you I've tried clearing both caches multiple times with reboots. Force closing and wiping all app data for the play store, all to no avail.
