Software Update Failed, authentication failed - LG Optimus 2x

Dear all,
Yesterday i got the phone from Telenor Hungary.
Recently I have no issues with it, no random reboots, or freezes yet.
The Phone, came with the theese software versions:
Android: 2.2.2
Base : 1035.21_20110218
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-dirty
I have 2 problems only.
One has already a thread on it, this is the battery drain issue.. I don't know wheter it is ok or not, but i had woken up at 7am, right now it is 9am and i only have 70% left. I was online with e-buddy, but no chats. just some words.
The thread was created, becouse i tried to update the phone softwe yesterday in 2 ways.
1: WIFI enable, and try to update via phone :
Authentication failed, the software can not be updated ( or something like that, but WIFI was working perfectly. )
2: I have tried with the LG suite something, it told me that there are no updated avalaible.
Are you having the same problems ? ( Cant update the phone software, and auth failed ? )
And any solutions ?
Regards,
SBM

Well, this means there is no update available right now. You will have to wait a few weeks (or months), the phone is still to new.
Nothing to worry about!

there is no update in most countries yet.
the battery should get better after a while, I think it's save to say that we've established that the drain is mostly due to the phones radio switching between network modes. A fix for this should hopefully be present in the GB update.
for the time being you could use a program like juicedefender to extend you battery life, you can find this in the market.

How do this "juicedefender" saves the battery life ? I mean, what does this app do ?
Thanks in advise.

You should try the Sony Xperia Miro/Tipo forum.

[Q] Phone update OTA working?

Has anyone managed to update their phone by OTA in the setting, about menu??
If i try to update its just sitting there for a good minute or two, then just times out saying connection problems.. (over wifi, not able to try over 3G)
Ok, maby there's no update to get, but shouldnt the phone state so, not connection problems?
Anyone actually got this feature working?
It works.
I did a OTA update from V10c to V10d 3 weeks ago.
It depends on the day. Sometimes the Update Server seems to be offline and sometime online. I get the message "You have the lates Version" which pops up very fast or "Connection failed" after a few minutes.
No problems here.
Mine just pops up with the usual 'you have the latest version' message
I just get the usually message stating my phone is on the latest version, even though I'm on v10b...
I get a connection fail everytime I try...
I checked now on another wifi (iphone wifi hotspot ) an it works, so apparently there is an issue with my wifi/router...
I have no update option in "About" settings. I searched and saw a thread but no solution on how to get it back. I am on 10b version with 405 baseband from India. Any advice / solution on this
Hi ,
in Italy OTA update works from V10A to V10B.
But V10B on my phone not work fine , It make reboot or freeze my P990.
The new V10C ( beta ) are very good for now
I think there was a similar thread. If you have an unbranded phone you might not be able to use ota as its via a network provider. However you'll more likely get any update quicker via the lg update tool because of this

Your phone have a hardware fault. Get it repaired.
Got it in Sweden, and my free memory after killing all apps is 222 MB
got an update in India, baseband version 1035.21_20110725, lge version v10e, hope this update fixes my wifi error and random reboots !!
Got an update here at Maldives too, but after downloading the data, the update gets stuck at 4%. After that it asks to reconnect the mobile and click retry, I have done it too but still no progress. Can anyone help me out?
I had that problem, too. The problem is that the phone doesn't boot into software upgrade mode. I solved it by rebooting my pc, and did the complete upgrade routine again, then it worked. If that doesn't work, then you could try to manually boot into S/W upgrade mode, haven't tested it, though.

When i try to install the phone boots up in CWM without installing anything?
Any suggestions?
Every time it boots, it tells me there is a update which should be installed.
EDIT:
Can't remove the annoying top bar telling me to install the update! Arghhh!

5- Removing the battery Used to fix the problem But NOW NOT
Fixes I Tried
1- Restore Factory Setting & Wipe Cache & Wipe Everything
2- Changing the Rom from (I.C.S 4.0.3 )to (GB 2.3.6 ) to (Paranoid Android ) to (I.C.S 4.0.4)

I am also facing the same problem for last one month and tried almost all the options tried by you but no relief. Wifi just works some time and other times it stays greyed. Can any one suggest any other solution as i also think it's software problem.
jesus christ, we are not BLIND!
anyway, i have same issues on sgs2
Same issue
@MOHPHR : I am facing the same issue as you.
I tried several ROMs from Original stock ICS to Paranoid to Crisleko's ROM.
Going into the airplane mode and then turning wifi on used to work, not anymore.
3G Data works just fine, not being able to use wifi is frustrating because when I leave it alone, it connects by itself randomly when I am at home for example.
I have done some extensive research and found an article that mentions wifi hardware problems resulting from ICS update on a galaxy S2. (Google: Samsung Galaxy S2 WiFi Issue BY Shaiful Borhan )
I did use the *#*#526#*#* and got the status: "NotSet Driver loaded [NG]".
Anyone can help please ?

Hi, I have been looking for days now for a forum that will be discussing this exact problem. I ve had this issue fora month or so now. I have restored to factory settings but it has not solved the problem. My galaxy note n7000 is not rooted nor does it have any special rom. I wouldnt even know how to install them. Where you able to find a fix? I am so tired of this problem, Im even contemplating the possibility of getting a note 2 and selling my n7000. I believe as well that it is most likely a software problem and im wondering if the soon to come jellly bean update could fix this issue.
Ps: after the wifi problem started, ive also noticed freezes and restars/ reboots.
Thanks for your help guys.:good:

@fedetipito I am still considering the hardware issue, although it seems a compatibility issue with the region/country as @fearkillerr mentioned in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436683)
I tried his solutions, none worked. The script one worked, but only once, then the problem kept repeating.
I upgraded to JB 4.2 then downgraded to stock GB 2.3 still the same issue. I am from the North Africa/Middle-East region, although when I was in Sweden in holidays and using a Swedish sim-card didn't have this issue. Any thoughts ? This problem is really really upsetting as we cannot use the WiFi properly. I am seriously considering simply abandoning my Galaxy Note N7000 and go for an iPhone 5, simply because I cannot even sell it (since no one would like a smartphone that doesn't have a proper wifi working).
I am having almost same problem with WiFi after I installed Custom ROM.
I tried only one method and it worked like a charm.
Go to WiFi connections and tell your phone to forget the network you are connected to, then re log. This problem did not happen after that 3 days now. Good Luck.
@Valium10 we initially cannot connect to any WiFi network, so we can't "forget" them. I don't think it is a "wifi network" problem.
" although when I was in Sweden in holidays and using a Swedish sim-card didn't have this issue"
And if you take SIM card out and power-on phone? Will wifi work?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Sometimes no, sometimes yes. It's kind of a malicious bug.
I am also facing the same problem and it seems it is hardware problem. May some dust or something else on the hardware or else we have dropped our phone some problem is there. When I gave to service center they asked that the motherboard needs to be replaced. But they refused to check it without that. I told that first try without replacing any parts and just check whats wrong in this if some repair can be done, but the service center people are so busy 50-60 peoples were waiting in line behind me to give there phones for service. They do not listen anything. They have tried by installing latest ROM and nothing else, that we can easily do it and for that also they have taken service charges.
Please someone tell me where exactly the wifi module is there, so we can open and check the problem ourself.

Hi!
I also have the same problem with Xperia T. The phone keeps restarting many times daily. After rebooting It loses very offen sim-card and wi-fi function. 1 month ago it was flashed to 9.1.A.0.489 by PC Companion.
I tried and it doesn't work:
- flashing again 9.1.A.0.489 with PC COMPANION and SUS
- flashing again 9.1.A.0.489 with Flashtool
- flashing 9.1.A.0.492
- back to 7.0.A.3.197
- [TWRP]Stock Kernel on 9.1.A.0.489
Any idea?
i found a new thing. The phone is stable in "flight" mode.

Xperia T - restarts after flashing new firmware

Hey.
This is my first thread so welcome all. If this issue was fixed or if there is similar thread please close it down.
I have Xperia T that was branded by Vodafone DE. I updated it once from the standard firmware (I think it was the 4.1.2 android) to 4.3 (9.2.A.0.295), everything was fine, except that on two occasions the screen just could not be forced to turn on. Everything was working, sound, calls etc. I just had to hard reset it to enable the screen. Once when I was receiving call I could not answer it, the screen was jumping, blinking and I could not do anything with it. Hard reset helped again. I thought that those were bugs from the 9.2.A.0.295 but now I'm not so sure.
I downloaded the newest version of flashtool and the UK 9.2.A.1.199 firmware from this site, not branded, not modified. I unlocked the phone using the instructions on the sony site but since i didn't wanted to root the phone I locked it again. I flashed the mentioned UK firmware without problems and then the phone started to randomly reset itself. Usually it is getting hot under the camera and it resets mainly after using facebook or basically internet. It mostly resets when my phone is in the pocked. I tried using pc companion's repair option, used the firmware from Italy, Greece and almost all 9.2.A.1.205 except the Bond release. I think it's not the firmware, I've reverted to the 9.2.A.0.295 to no success. There are from one to six resets a day at random hours. Did someone had this problem? Is it related to the firmware flashing or could be just a coincidence and my xperia is dying from motherboard\battery failure? I replaced my sim card with new one. It also happens with or without the sd card.
Hi, the most common restart's are:
a) Sim card ( you change that)
b) Software ( you change that)
c) Very rare SD card ( try to do that) get the SD out end boot the phone. Edit .. you all ready do that.
d) End must common is the Battery ( first try de c) version ,then if fail , you need to buy a new battery end try.
e) motherboard (well new phone? )
This not exactly the order, but from i have read , point d , b ,a , are the order .
So Good Luck.:good:
I think it could be the battery or the board, since it happens on all firmwares. The thing I would like to know is that using flashtool for an example could somehow damage the phone or the battery? I never found any info on this.

I have heard that upgrading to 4.3 could actually damage the battery. So yes, it is possible.
I don't know the reason tho
