Anyone know if the stock US Galaxy Tab Wifi-only model has bluetooth keyboard support? Also, have they fixed the lag issue?
up for this question.
i, too, would like to know if the Wifi version suppots BT keyboard and and possibly, mouse?
Galaxy Tab WiFi only
I am sorry to say that it does not support Bluetooth Keyboard or mouse. HID support appears to have been disabled in the Wi-Fi only version. I have tried several different keyboards and a Logitech BT mouse. Although the status shows paired, neither works.
I am highly disappointed and am considering returning it for something else.

that sucks .. it's good that can even return it but in my case i'm stuck with it. Samsung should have changed the labeling in their box and specifications of the product should be laid out properly.
Wow thats very odd I would have assumed they would have kept that in there.
The only solution is to use Keyboard with SPP profile like the Freedom Pro Bluetooth keyboard, there is no HID profile support for the P1010
Funny, I avoided buying the Verizon version (at $100 less) because I read they disabled the bluetooth keyboard support. Guess this one is going back now too. And I really was liking it, and the 7" size of it.
How weird that I found this question. In fact I am using a bluetooth keyboard on my Galaxy Tab (Sch-i800, Verizon). And it is working perfectly. The Bluetooth keyboard I got is a Targus. I got it at Office Max for around $60.
Also, anybody relized how steap their prices are for general electronics? 16Gb Micro SD card costed $100....

Hey,
today I thought I have to try something new. When i saw my HD2 lie on my bluetooth Keyboard I just had to give it a try. So I paired the HD2 with a Logitech Dinovo Edge keyboard.
For first impression just watch the linked video on youtube i made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l9GckkXzSw
It is kinda possible to control the HD2 with the keyboard. Some commands wont work with the keyboard arrows, some do.
It is possible to assign keyboard keys to Morphgear and FPSECE but they wont work in game. May somehow it would work since the keys are assigned.
Enjoy this one
BTW: its german layout qwertz keyboard but the HD2 takes it as a wwe qwerty keyboard so at the end of the video you see me having some trouble writing a ""
How do I go about pairing my diNovo Edge with the Leo?
I didn't even know the diNovo used Bluetooth, I thought since it came with a USB dongle it was USB.
Nice what kind of cradle do you have there?

i like it too what is it?
hey, yes the dinovo is a bluetooth keyboard ... i dont even use the logitech bluetooth dongle because i dont like the size of it.
Well, the cradle is the battery charging station for the bluetooth keyboard
Leo kinda fits in there but its connected nowhere just used it for the video.
I'm using the USB receiver since I use my Bluetooth for audio, not sure it could do both at the same time.
How do I go about putting the diNovo in pairing mode?
turn your keyboard upside down and press the connect button then look for available bt devices on your HD2
Incredible feature! Did any user who have bluetooth keyboard have tried this on Touch HD?
I saw this at WMPU.. good stuff ...
That's fun!
I just tried it on my HTC Elf and it works! Even when I turn off the screen.
I bet the iPad can do this too... oh wait, it probably can't, seeing as how Apple have their own overpriced keyboard/dock for it.
pairing a LG touch
just tried to pair my LG Touch with no success, the device does show up in my listing fully described, it asks for a passcode which i entered 0000, and it tries to pair and eventually fails....i wonder if you all are pairing because you are using HTC products.....which will be fine being the im due for my HTC Evo 4G next week.... WOOHOO!
Do you think a
Logitech Cordless MediaBoard Pro
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/3616
would work ?
Works with Logitech MX5500
Done and confirmed to work with Logitech MX5500 Keyboard
WOW amazing!
I've had a logitech dinovo edge for 4 years, and I always thought the bluetooth capability was somehow proprietary(even though thinking about it that doesn't make sense if it's labeled bluetooth) I just tried it out and it works pretty well, though when typing messages it starts to lag when i type too fast. I wish though it could take advantage of all the other inputs on the kbd like the trackpad.
HD2 bluetooth keyboard works great
I bought a mini bluetooth keyboard on [email protected] and it works great with my HD2.
It makes typing txt-msgs with my giant fingers easy.
It was only $34. Model wkb-1500
Can anyone shed some light on this? I have a Nexus One, stock 2.2.1 ROM and a DiNovo Edge. I can pair the keyboard with the phone but then I get "Paired but not Connected" in the bluetooth device listing. When I click on it there is no response, only the option to unpair.
Thoughts? Thanks!
also working : DiNovo Mini !!
Hello! i would also tell u that the diNovo Mini Keyboard is compatible to Leo. I'm using this little keyboard since 1 year and i am very happy with it. I can put it in my pocket too.... and the accu of it is very powerful (along 2 weeks of using every day)....
only the mediaplayer doesnt work with the buttons (i use strg + ...).
and the price : uuuuhhh a lil bit too much ;D
on the pics u can see how small it is... (cant compare with leo cause i shot the pics with him )

This response is over a week late, but if you get this, I hope it helps.
After pairing:
Download BlueKeyboard JP or Blue Input Demo from Market. After you install either of these programs, go into Settings>Language&Keyboard and check the box next to the program name (either BlueKeyboard JP or Blue Input). Go into the program's settings menu (should be right underneath it in the list). For BlueKeyboard JP, it'll ask you to select your keyboard and input type/style (e.g., US QWERTY), among other things. For Blue Input Demo, it'll allow you to search for your keyboard. Just search and choose it when it pops up on screen.
Last thing, change your input method. For example, if you want to use your keyboard to type a text message, open up the text messaging program. In any of the textbox where the text goes, press and hold your finger on the screen until a menu pops up with "Input Method" in it. Select it and choose the program you just downloaded (Blue Keyboard/Blue Input) in the menu. Your BT keyboard should now work.
I used Blue Input Demo on my HD2 with the diNovo Edge and found that it's better than BlueKeyboard JP. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
I have connected a Apple bluetooth keyboard to my Tab. That together with a small plastic stand works very fine.
but I am not able to use the local language charachters on the keyboard. Just gives me /;- when I click the Norwegian local chars ØÆÅ.
Anybody knows how this work in Android ? I have selected Norwegian layout on both input (keyboard) and device.
Is it the Bluetooth driver that controls this things ?
i have the same issue with my dinovo mini
Anyone have any idea when the Samsung keyboard will be released??

Has anyone been able to connect a BT keyboard to the Verizon Tab? I can pair my Think Outside keyboard, but it doesn't connect.
I believe the BT profiles for headsets and HID aren't installed. Is there a way to add them?

Hi did you find any solution with the special charaters issue? I have the same problem with my swedish apple keyboard.

Long click the device in the bluetooth menu and select to use as an hid device. worked great for me.
Got the Keyboard here in the UK and I have to say it's great.
It's also only £39.99 at the moment instead of the £79.99 RRP. Might buy a few more and sell them on if it's a UK only thing at the moment.
The build quality is great as well. Well worth a purchase!

I have a Tab from Verizon, and all I get when long-clicking on the keyboard after pairing, is "Connect" and "Unpair". No "Use as a HID Device". Clicking "Connect" does nothing. :-\
Pathetic, VZW... really pathetic.
Anyone have any pictures or video they can share of bluetooth keyboards in use?

I second that. I have my bt keyboard ready but verizon is not. Sucks.
Go to the Verizon Community Forum and add to the thread I started. They say they know it is an issue and will fix it but nothing has happend for a month. No updates and no schedule. The thread is here - communityDOTvzwDOTcom/t5/Other-Android-Devices/Bluetooth-broken-on-Verizon-Galaxy-Tab/td-p/336065
Replace the DOT with .
I have a Galaxy Tab (T-Mobile). Recently, I got a Freedom Pro bluetooth keyboard and a Micro$oft bluetooth mouse. Both paired up and work good with the tab. I did discover that, when you want to use both, it's best to connect the mouse first, then the keyboard. Some of the "special keys" on the keyboard don't work....most annoying..."Home and End". I plan to email the Freedom Pro folks about this.
The Freedom Pro keyboard is really nice. It comes with a leather (well, at least, it looks like leather) carrying case and is very portable. I was also pleased to find that I was able to use it with my PS3...no more on-screen keyboard! The Micro$oft mouse also comes with a carrying case.
T-Mobile Tabs rock!
Ken
I picked up a SGT from Verizon and am having trouble with bluetooth. It won't pair with either a Jabra or Motorola brand headset. I can get it to pair with my Apple Bluetooth keyboard, but it won't connect. It just says "Paired", but does not function. I'm using Skype and GV on this and would love to be able to use a bluetooth headset. Is this unique to the Verizon model? Has anyone else had better luck with a T-Mobile model?
Thanks!
Apparently vzw left the bluetooth HID out (unlike tmo). So the vzw tab can pair with keyboards and mice, but cannot connect to them. There are hid drivers in the market, but I haven't tried any yet. I have a bt keyboard on order. I tried a mouse,it paired fine but wouldn't connect. There have been many reports of this.
BT headsets haven't had any issues that I have heard. My moto s9hd paired and connected the first time and has been ready whenever I have needed it.
r
I have the T-Mo version and I can connect and pair BUT...
Audio from the other person plays through the BT headset and your voice is via the Tab's microphone... I put the Tab in another room and made a call and all the other person could hear was the TV in the other room.. Once I walked back and picked up the Tab they could hear me...
TMO Profiles?
I have a Sprint Tab and it pairs but refuses to connect. I'm wondering if there's some way to extract the TMO drivers from the device, and stick them elsewhere. Also, I don't know a lot about the bluetooth driver architecture. What exactly is it missing? The kernel drivers for it? Or some other thing?
I had the same trouble with my Jawbone and Think Outside stowaway keyboard.
I called Verizon about this and the tech told me they had no profile for headsets or HID. They have stereo headphone support for music.
Very disappointing that they would do extra work to remove functionality, but I'm certain a good rom will become available that fixes this Verizon blunder.

What I'm reading is that Android doesn't actually support BT HID in this release. I'm still wondering if it could be extracted from TMO or some of the European releases and pushed with ADB.
The other thing I'm wondering is about CyanogenMod. They've had an experimental bluetooth HID thing that's been working decently, or so say the posts, for a few months now. I'm wondering if it's a high enough level of abstraction that it could just be put variously on any device, as long as the processor architecture was the same (or is it up in the java level so that doesn't even matter?)
I know nothing, to be honest, but wanted to just advance a few questions. Not sure how many people are actually interested in BT HID, but for me, it's a dealbreaker for whether or not I hand this device back in.
I've had the same problems with my Verizon SGT. Verizon apparently deleted some Bluetooth drivers. Why? I don't know. This is the only problem I have come across with my tab. If anyone knows of a driver that will connect Bluetooth devices to the SGT please reply. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
Hello all
I thought i would let you know of my set up i have for my nexus 7, ever since day 1 on nexus ownership the desktop has been un used, it is such a amazing tablet, far better that ipads and other android tabs which ive owned.
if anyone is looking for a do-it-all set up i have to let you know of mine.
I wanted a Bluetooth keyboard so i got the Logitech android Bluetooth keyboard which was great, after a bit of use i thought i would get a Bluetooth mouse as i didn't want USB cables all over, so i got the Microsoft wedge tough, such a weird mouse, but it is fantastic. The problem was lag, when i had both the keyboard and mouse on (both Bluetooth) they keyboard kept lagging, for example if i typed android it would look like andrrrrrrrrrrrrrroid. this was so annoying so i got the wedge Bluetooth keyboard, again a fantastic keyboard and connected them both, the problem was still there so i experimented with some applications and i found one which solved the problem, if anyone is having the same issue then download external keyboard helper, ever since i got this app i have had no problems, i have seen a few threads so i thought this would hopefully help people out.
If you are looking for a keyboard and mouse combo, go out and get the Microsoft wedge touch and keyboard, there expensive yes, but they are so good, and get hold of the app, currently I'm using the demo version and it has solved the problem, but if anyone has tried the full can you let me know how good it is and whether it is worth forking out the few quid
For audio i sue the Logitech Bluetooth audio hub, so i can use my half decent creative t40's wirelessly both on my nexus 7 my one x and with my desktop, even with the 3 Bluetooth devices connected to my nexus 7 i still have not encountered any other issue with bandwidth or lagging anymore.
i hope this helps some people out there that were experiencing the same problem that i was if anyone needs any help with the Bluetooth problem on JB then let me know and ill help out to the best of my abilities

Does the app work with the Logitech keyboard and other mice?
---------- Post added at 12:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:53 PM ----------
How well is the microsoft mobile keyboard optimized for Android?
i got the helper pro, it helped alot but still have the issue of when both bt keyboard and bt mouse are connected the browser freezes, restarts.
i have tried mouse and keyboard individually and are 100% perfect on there on.
i still get aaaaaa but rarely with KHP and both bt Kb/mouse connected.
tried usb keyboard with otg cable and bt mouse all was perfect
incidentally for those wanting to fix this it must be with n7/jb as the bt mouse and bt KB work perfect on my htc one x when used in the same configuration as we have the problem on the n7/jb
Spot on!

You Sir, are a legand. I have purchased the same KB and mouse and was very frustarted with the lag., I still have some lag with the mouse, but this is now a very useable setup, loving it!
Won't pair with my HD+. Keyboard works fine with my Galaxy Note and the Nook seems to pair fine with my notebook. Any ideas?
I have the Think Outside Stowaway Universal Bluetooth keyboard, this thing came out since 2004 I think, and I have no problem with any thing pairing with it yet. I originally brought it for my Nokia 770 and N800 back then.

Good old trusty...
Quick update: it looks like there's a request to confirm pairing pin that's not showing. I was attempting to pair it again and noticed when I pressed enter on the Bluetooth keyboard I immediately got a pop-up on the Nook stating that it was unable to pair because of an incorrect pin.
Update: I see similar comments on B&N's site. No pin pop-up. Also happens with other keyboards (Logitech K810 for example). Some have reported other bluetooth keyboards working.
I'm going to say that I had similar troubles pairing with my phone, had to do it on the phone, not the tablet, pairing request didn't show properly...
