[Q] WiFi will not connect after Dalingren OC kernal - Nook Color General

WiFi will not connect after installing Daligrens OC kernal on SD card. It says "connecting" but then goes to "disconnected" How do I remedy this?

The first thing I'd suspect is that you may have inadvertently gone into Airplane Mode recently. There is a known issue where, once in that mode, the Nook will not go out of it. You can fix it with the SQLite Editor, found in the Market. Basically you edit the value in the "Airplane_Mode_On" line in the Settings.db database from 1 to 0.
Several posts with instructions can be found with a search of these forums.
Hope that fixes it for you!

Did you flash using the zip or did you copy the files manually? If manually, you gotta make sure you copy and set proper permissions on the files in the system folder as well! uImage goes in /boot, the rest of the files go in the system partition.

Theres an updated version of the kernel where the wifi cycling issue does not happen.
try this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=539047&d=1299790214

Known issue. Wifi didn't work w/any kernels for me after 4/04, EXCEPT 4/18c. Weird, I know. But yeah, it's a known issue. He said he won't release anything until wifi works like it does in 4/04.

Thanks for the summary. I was running 4/4 and upgraded to 4/18c and noticed wonky wi-fi--it worked for me but had issues staying connected to my network, and I know it wasn't my network since my phone was connected to it.

Really? No wifi problems here besides the AES problem in CM7 in general.

Unable to start Wi-Fi

I have had a problem develop recently and I have not really changed anything that I can think of to cause this problem but my phone will not connect to wifi.
first of im on cm5.0.5.3, epe54b and im running launcher2... the problem is if i go to turn wifi on it just says "unable to start wifi" and I cannot check the box to turn it on...
now i could go back to one of my nandroids or reset everything but I dont really care to because I would rather figure out this problem as-is... any ideas?
I am wondering if a file got corrupted or something along the way, but more-less it was like one day it worked and the next day it said nope not gunna happen haha...
You need to copy in a compatible wifi driver to go with the new kernel.

If it happens again I would recommend reflashing Cyan's rom and then gapps addon. You can do that without wiping so it shouldn't affect anything. If i continues after that, you may have to wipe and install.

[Q] Captivate Wifi "Error" and no MAC/Bluetooth Address

I just received this Samsung Captivate and it had problems of not being able to connect to Wifi. When I try enabling it, I get a message simply saying "Error". I've tried doing different things to fix it including FXR Wifi Fix and Rescue all to no avail.
I can connect to 3G...but I can't enable Wifi or get a MAC address or Bluetooth Address.
Suggestions?
EDIT: I'm on 2.3.7 CyanogenMod 7.1.0 currently but I also tried 2.1 and 2.2 stock.
Check all the advanced settings under wifi, check if it's set to use a proxy, and check the vpn stuff

Can't find anything on proxies in it, VPN has nothing in it enabled. This is on a fresh factory reset......of cyanogenmod 7.1.0
If it's just on your home wifi, try power cycling the router.

It's within the phone, for sure. When I try checking the enable wifi on settings, it just says Error.
I've tried it at my school, house and girlfriend's house.
Try completely reflashing cm7.

I've done so several times along with the stock 2.2 and 2.1 roms. No dice so far...
In that case, I would say it's a hardware problem.

I initially assumed so as well but I read the 3g wouldn't be working if that were the case.

Yes, just one though. I may try more later if nothing turns up. ROMs all come with different preinstalled modems anyway though, right?
Yes. Just to verify modem's ok, I would say try JK4. It works almost everywhere.

Still no luck
I'm out of ideas. If you still have a warranty, flash the stock firmware that came on your phone and raise hell with att to replace it.

If it boils down to that, I guess it's what I'll have to do. I would still prefer a fix though.

CM10 wi-fi issue

I guess everybody who flashed cm10 knows about this. Connecting to wi-fi takes a lot of tries to work, if at all. I managed to connect to my router at home, but it is super annoying to spend 20 minutes at work to reboot and change regional settings just to find out that it doesn't work at all.
Is there any solution to this? Have I done something wrong? Atm i'm running the latest nightly, but i also had the issue with the FXP 152.

Yes, its a well known issue. You could have asked in the cm10 discussion thread instead of starting a new thread here.
The trick is
1) Enable wifi, reboot
2) Search for network, reboot
3) Connect to network and enter password, reboot
4) This time do it all again and it will work.
So, the regional settings don't have anything to do with this issue?

Solk2 has released a patch and also He founded some modules that works fine
So lets wait for our devs to make a Kernel Including all this
Maybe then we will have WiFi without any problems

[Q] Wifi can't connect automatic on Note 3 stock!

Hi all,
Lately, I ran into a problem with the stock Note 3. It can't automatic connect to wifi. I have to enter the the wifi password manually to connect. My phone is stock with 4.4,2. I have "Keep wifi on during sleep" set to always. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with this phone. My other phone (S3) works fine when I switch to different wifi network.

There is a fix for it. You have to edit something on build.prop but I forgot edit what.
Just install a custom rom, they should already fixed the problem.
Thanks, found it right after posting.

I found the post referencing the build prop file you are referring to right after I posted this message. It worked like a charm. Thank you for the response though. May lead someone else to the answer.
