There are higher res preview images below showing the "final" state of each of the three images/pages that "load".
This is a Fascinate specific/custom boot animation. It is a shameful kang and tweak of frysee's "Android BIOS" animation from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648555
All credit for the original images/design should go to him, unless someone tells me different.
This is a mashup of the generic Galaxy S one and the Captivate one. I took what I liked from each (or was most factually correct for us), and i've made the following minor tweaks/changes:
0.) I am assuming users are using 2.2.1 Froyo and the 2.6.32.9 kernel build, for this variant. Used that build anywhere it's specified
1.) Started with the Captivate version that has the nice ANSI/ASCII Android Logo after the BIOS "finishes"
2.) Eliminated all of the ghosted/improperly changed text that the Captivate variant had
3.) Stated that it's a "Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S" for the phone model
4.) Used 1000 MHz clock speed
5.) Replaced the Android ROM version after the "ROM Extension" line, with the kernel build instead. Thought it was nice to mention kernel.
6.) Updated all dates to 2011
7.) Changed Flash Extension to a Samsung microSDHC since our phones came with one (versus Captivate having the internal SD card)
8.) Changed Phone Storage to Samsung OneNAND
9.) Changed the "Press ____ to enter SETUP" to VOLUP+VOLDOWN we use for recovery
10.) Slipped our "SCH-I500" model number into the alphanumeric string at the bottom
11.) Updated Pri Master Disk size to 1563MB we have
12.) Made the Sec. Master Disk 16384MB for the 16GB sdhc we got with the phone

This one is NOT a flashable .zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?0836f9rvgabj9qt
Instead, just copy this file to /system/media/ and either overwrite or rename the existing file. This requires that you are on an aftermarket ROM that supports changing of the boot animation.

Here's the simulated BIOS boot I made for my EPIC. The images have been optimized for smoother playback. There are now a few choices for boot animations as well as matching shutdown animations below.
EPIC BIOS S-AMOLED/ Galaxy S (EpicBIOSboot_walord.zip):
EPIC BIOS SamMobile/ Galaxy S (variation) (EpicBIOSboot2_walord.zip)
EPIC BIOS SamMobile/Galaxy S (EpicBIOSboot3_walord.zip)
EPIC BIOS SamMobile/Nexus S ( EpicBIOSbootNexusS_walord.zip )

File is flashable through Clockwork Mod Recovery.
Anyone tried this custom boot using TrulyEpic v2.06.12.10 ROM because so far I can't get it to work. It installs with no problem in Clockwork, but it doesn't show up when you boot up. Suggestions?
I saw it in action on Bonsai's ROM and its awesome, definately eye catching over the normal boot.
All the devs over here do such great work, thanks!

Not sure if his kernel supports custom boot animations. He has the I9000 boot ani in his rom but that is still a .qmg file type which the galaxy s phones use by default. I don't know if mammon has a flashable .zip of just his kernel (or if it would run stable on that rom) to be able to run boot anis from .zip files in /system/media

Thanks! For my shutdown I use an i9000 shutdown animation since it works so well with with the boot, I've attached it in case you want to check it out. What type of shutdown sequence are you looking for?
Right now I'm working on a SamMobileBIOS/Galaxy S bootanimation:

First - I did not in any way shape or form create this theme. All credit goes to D3StRoY & R64 in the I9000 Forums. It was just so nice that i couldn't help but put it over top of Cog 3.0
[THEME] Generation X - V1.14 Please Please Please go and thank them if you like this awesome theme.
Also, this is not an exact replica of said theme. I am in no way skilled enough to port the exact theme over. It is very close at this point and ill keep working on it as i have time. I honestly never even tried doing this before until last night. I just swapped artwork around.
Known issue:
- does not have epic unlock screen
- while charging the charging animation does not display properly (fixing that by tonight(i think))
Now working

Example: if my wife is on darkys right now will she need to flash first to cog 3 and then this? or will flashing this also pt cog 3 on?

No. This is a theme, not a complete rom. You have to flash Cog 3 first.
Sweet! Time to flash Cog! Thanks!!
This should be compatible with any rogers 2.2 Rom. Unless DG did more tweaking then Im aware of. As always try at your own risk.

This doesn't have anything to do with the modem. If you have a different modem and its working this shouldn't effect it. This is just a graphic change.
The op says "cog 3.0 + ugl1" or something to that effect, which made me think you needed the original modem.. seemed strange to me, but just wantsled yo verify I wasn't going to screw things up...

And before anyone says anything, Yes somebody has made one like this before but I have made my own edition from scratch and the other one I have seen was elongated instead of portrait, which mine is. I also added a sound version. So this is not stealing from original creator because I made my own.
Now, I have 2 versions. One with Sound and one without.
Download your choice from below.
Place on SD.
Reboot to recovery.

Reboot and enjoy!

I used the QR code to download it. I've tried other ways as well. So it would seem that there could be an issue with the ec/dk. That would imply that dk28 handles the bootanimation.zip differently? I compared the desc.txt file to one that works on my phone and could not really find any difference. But I have an untrained eye. Has anyone else with a DK28 rom had any success with this? I copied the bootanimation from the zip over directly and fiddled with the resolution and frame rates to no avail. If I put the FPS to 30, I get a black screen instead of the stock android.
Guess what? I just got it to work. I extracted the bootanimation.zip out of your original file and copied it to system/media, rebooted. Win.

The desc is going to be for the most part similar across all android devices except for screen size and frame rate. If you edit my desc from the boot zip you will get a black screen. You would have to extract everything and edit and rezip.
As long as bootanimation.zip is going to system/media... there shouldn't be an issue.
If you get a black screen there is something wrong with the bootanimation.zip and if you get android logo something went wrong with flash or your system pushing to system/media.

I had some trouble using this. When I installed through CWM it only applied the sound and not the boot animation. The sound also cutoff halfway through and was all static after that.
Had to use a file manager to wipe it out since installing a boot animation over this one wouldnt work.

Hi,
I stumbled upon a nice, clean-looking gif animation while browsing the web, and decided to turn it into a bootanimation for my Nexus S. It took some time to dissect the gif, fiddle with the frames a bit and put this altogether, so I decided I would share it (in case you might like it )

This bootanimation should work on any HDPI 480x800 px device.
Installation:
1. Root Explorer > copy this bootanimation.zip > go to \system\media > mount R/W > paste & replace existing bootanimation
2. ADB > adb push <your path>\bootanimation.zip \system\media
3. Recovery flashable > put "bootanimation[FLASHABLE].zip" on your sdcard > enter custom recovery > install .zip form sdcard > reboot system now
And as always, remember to make a nandroid backup before doing anything!
Credits go to the original .gif author, although I have no idea where this pic came from - it just happened to be on my HDD
NOTICE: If you find yourself having a nice, good-looking gif/animation that you would like to see on your device as a bootanimation - don't hesitate to post here! I'm willing to test my image editing skills and fulfill your requests
Reboot and enjoy!

Yep, i have NOT made a flashable zip yet. Only possible installation methods are described in the first post. I will post a flashable zip possibly tomorrow, for your convenience & ease of use Stay tuned.
I'm heading off to give this animation a more ICS-fitting design - blues & grays, you know what I mean
added, really nice
thanks for sharing
Can't wait for the update. I have a ton of boot animations lol. I use an app called BootRandimations which as you can guess, chooses a random boot animation whenever you reboot. You just add the animation to the app file and let it do it's thing.

Sorry, now I've read
:-[
and of course it works.
EDIT: Added a recovery flashable package. Tested & working on my Nexus with ClockworkMod recovery 5.0.2
Please be so kind and report if it's working.
PS Color changing, now that's a challenge. Looking into it now
the flashable zip works with the TWRP Recovery too.

This is pretty cool. Nice stuff.
Looks cool. Will try this. But I think it won't look as cool on my 9023 as on a sAmoled Nexus
Anybody wanna make this compatible with evo 3d?

If you have been around for a while, you are familiar with the "M" series.
If not, then welcome to "M"!
This revision of "M", M12, is a giant leap from where M11 ended.
A special thanks goes out to Vipitus, without which this rom would not have been possible.
M12 Stats:
Based off of Private Stock, M9 and M11
KB5 Base, Kernel and Modem
Accurate 100/100 battery
Built to compliment the QQ/Miui Launcher.
Freaking awesome UI
Droid Charge system sound scheme and start up animation
Built and rebuilt everything
Moshiach Tweaks
Beats Audio
Nine Lock Screens
Clock Options
All Vibrant features function as they are intended.
Theme Engine - comes with 6 themes pre installed - I will provide more as requested.
Install and Set Up:
Odin to JFD first if coming from GB or ICS
Flash M12.zip
Reboot.
At first start up, choose Miui as your default launcher.
Give it a chance to settle in.
Set up your Google account.
Connect to the Google Play Store to receive any updates.
Boot to recovery and flash themes_signed.zip.
Reboot and rejoice!
Disable Voodoo before flashing.
Download both if you want the themes installed with this.
Download Rom - Amend CWM Script - 178.77MB - http://www.mediafire.com/?88iq6uz6nqwrlir
Download Theme Pack - Edify CWM Script - 43MB - http://www.mediafire.com/?u34flms6i9mge65

If you are not living in Asia, you will want to remove the weather widget from the home screen as it will only deliver weather from Asia.
If you scroll left one screen from the home screen you will see 2 folders with Chinese names, just rename these as you would on an iPhone.
Reserved for Themes and Tweaks
Do a search for "QQ Launcher Theme", if you find a theme you want, link me to it and I will port it to work with this build.
I will be posting a theme template for those who want to contribute their own themes for this.
And the awesomeness begins... very nice!!!
Man, your gonna may me lazy.
Is this 2.2 or 2.2.1? Also, is there any bugs associated with the MIUI launcher?
edit: looking at the build.prop this is 2.2, for those that want to know
Thanks Jellette, you always made my favorite ROMS. I was so bummed when you left. I appreciate your work a lot! B-)

Thanks! Can't wait to try it
Love M series the first time around. Kept it for a long time. Getting hard to settle with all the work you are bringing back, thanks.
Quick question.
Since I am on a froyo the sequence I would follow would be
wipe
Flash rom
All your other steps
then flash the themes zip in CWM
reboot
Is that it?
I see below the instructions the two files and the theme pack is listed as an edify script do I also need to run that script with a script manager?
Wow, Looks Awesome Can't wait to give this a try!
Nice!!! Welcome back Heathen!!!

I flash all the time but this one is smooth enough i might just stay here for a while...love the theming and wallpaper. ..thanks man

It's an element of the Droid Charge. For fun.
Thank you, how did you know I went back to froyo? Haha
Two questions, if I remember right, deleting the voodoo folder from the root of your sd card and rebooting will disable it right?
Lastly, does it supports FFC?

You can disable Voodoo from within Recovery w/voodoo kernel or put a blank file named "disable-lagfix" in the folder
