Hi, I am looking for a way to put Skype on tmobile htc hd7
Thanks
...wait until mango, 2011 .
Cannot wait for skype myself either like loads of others I bet.
With the recent announcement of Nokia bringing Ovi maps and their support to Windows 7 I think we are going to start seeing the gaps filled in pretty quickly which is pleasing.

Try Voxofon they have a WP7 app and you could use their service to make calls on skype until you get the official one
well HD7...with 7.5 mango....does nada why ? cause android is so much more advanced
kind of hard to skype with no front facing cam on the HD7...... kind of defeats the purpose

Looks like those of us holding out for skype to dump a good release for android w/ video is getting farther away, Looks like Microsoft is buying (or has closed the deal) Skype for 8.5 Billion, bet they don't release Android or Iphone updates all that often now...
Now were did I put that copy of openvoip
http://www.dailytech.com/Report+Mic...ement+Coming+Tuesday+Morning/article21584.htm
Ughhhhh... hey maybe they will make an Android version... and say that WP 7 is more open.
This makes me a sad panda
Just heard they did buy it. Looks like google will have to find a different app to use instead of skype.
hmm... MS and their big bags of money won again...
i know Google was also trying to make the deal with Skype... but seems like Google's pockets were not deep enough
... that's it, i'm deleting all my skypes accounts and uninstalling it from all my PCs and phones
I just hope they don't integrate it with live....

Hello!
Anyone tried Navigon on Hd7?
I'm thinking about buying the app on marketplace but I would like to know if it works ok in a HD7!
Thank you!

Working very good. No problems, just the installation takes about 90 minutes. The version of kounadisk Navigon Select V 3.0 WP7 is nicer. But I find it very important that if one uses a program often then one should buy it. That's the only way to ensure that the developper will be able to develop further the program. I find the price not to high in comparison with the prices I used to pay for the navigation programs on windows mobile.
Thank you very much!

Navigon for USA V4 working great here!
turn by turn navigation only $4.99
V4 here, running on DFT mango rom, works great
Yes it is NICE no need for data plan and is accurate.....
Using Navigon on a HD7S since a couple of days now and really like it.
I used to use Garmin on a Blackberry, which was actually pretty good as well but Navigon in my opinion has the following advantages:
a) quicker routing and re-routing
b) has definitely a nicer/cleaner interface
c) provides for better POI search functions
d) works with on-board maps (huge plus)
Bottom line: great navigation app and well worth the money.
Works on hd7, go on mobilism.org download navigon and install it on your hd7.

Wroks great here too, just the rotation to landscape seems choppy!
pocketnow did a video review, here.
Simply the best navigation soft available in the marketplace!!! Working very good on Hd7.

NAVIGON has not good to planned routes.
It works great on my HD7 with both stock and cooked ROM. Highly recommended at the introductory price. For those of us with limited data plans NAVIGON is the only way to go.
Works V4 Europe very good here!
Navigon v4 works good here
I am running Navigon USA v4 on deepshining v2 rom. Working good here. Fast and accurate. Voice not coming through my bluetooth though. Havent dove into that yet.
So, over the weekend (Sunday night to be exact), I had a conversation with a WP7 user. This was the gist of it:
ME: (Saw the LG symbol, think immediately of idiot, then saw WP7 logo, and nearly laughed out loud on his face) Hey what phone is that?
Fanboy: It's a Windows Phone 7
ME: Cool #sarcasm. You're on Mango yet?
Fanboy: Sure.
ME: Sure sucks to use WP7...
[TL;DR long debate on why Android is better #winning]
Fanboy: Well, do you know Microsoft gets USD5 for every Android? So useless!
Yeah... so I stopped arguing...
I don't get it.?

I was winning the argument on why Android is better, then he pulled a loser/fanboy move and just said MS is getting paid 5 bucks. And it looks like B&N is fighting back with the Nook.
Ooooo I love my android. " A" for effort

I have the HTC surround. I also just ordered the Resound as I am switching carriers. I like wp7 for daily use. I have been Modding phones since windows mobile was at version 2003SE. I would like to have both android and wp7 devices to use at my discretion. As long as its not anything with ios on it.

I'm fine with peeps harping on about their phones legitly. WP7 is good for something (other than as a brick) and so is iCrapple (gotta respect their game portfolio), but losing and argument so ungracefully?

I'm not schooled in the major differences between Windows Mobile, Android, and Palm, but I can tell you that people are complaining that they can't see something as basic as YouTube on some mobile devices, and that Windows Mobile has a free app for watching YouTube that works great. I can also tell you that certain video applications that enable remote viewing of webcams require Windows Mobile.
The correct retort is:
"Yes, and that's why MS make more money from Android sales than they can ever hope to from WP7. Has your market share fallen any further or has it hit rock bottom?"
i see video on youtube

but i don't know how to do.
everybody can help me?
Yeah I mean they put android on iPhone 3g and hp touch pad.

Microsoft should stick to desktops or make wp7 more like windows. This tile stuff is annoying

Annoying? I guess you won't like Windows8 then. Go get an Android phone off e-bay for cheap.
Got a g2x already. I got this hd7 for free from a guy who didn't want it.
The biggest issue I have right now with this phone is how I have to convert every video to play on it.
BTW, android on WP7 would be a downgrade not upgrade.

respect your opinion..but your totally wrong...dude......android is awesome...btw dont want a hard android rom but rather a dual boot...cuz wp7 is great aswell....but every single thing has a freaking limitation...
Can you re-word your thread title?
I'm not convinced changing to android is an update or upgrade...
You can ship from Việt Nam (obout 200 USD)

HD7 has great HW, I wish I can upgrade the software
I too really wish I can upgrade the SW. I personally bought the HD7 counting on the fact that hackers are likely to do with it what they did with the HD2.
I will probably give it a couple more months and then sell it and get any Android phone.
Hello I am just asking if I can flash my Nokia lumoa620 to android if no tell why if yes tut or link please thank u
No you can't. There are no Drivers for the Hardware, no one has bothered to work on it and the most likely reason is that all WP8 devices use SecureBoot to make sure only signed OS code gets executed on the Hardware which (at the Moment at least) prevents any Kind of CustomROMs.
The Windows Mobile days are over. No Windows Phone device has ever been able to run another OS and it's likely to stay that way.

Did you search for apps carefully? Because many apps have the same content like android but the app is called differently.

Nope. Windows devices are all protected and encrypted to hell and back. You'd be better off getting a separate Android device (consider a Nexus device, those are cheap and good for their cost), or finding replacement apps for WinPhone.

Yes, we heard of that. And it's not a Windows Phone device! It originally ran Windows Mobile (which is something completely different than Windows Phone) and was hacked to run other operating systems like android, and even Windows 8
The only reason the HD2 lasted so long, was because @coutulla was behind the hood. He had done everything he possibly wanted on that device. With him not interested in Windows Phone, you all can just wait for HTC and MS to work out the kinks for dual-boot phones. Go to WPCentral to figure out your self. My only remark: Nokia devices will not be able to run android, or vice versa, misc phones e.g. Motorola Droids will not run WP8. WP8 is device specific, while Android can float around a little more easy, but both Android and Windows Phone is dependent on the cellular radio and device specific drivers. It's a can 'o worms that we don't want to mess with, and the one that can to this type of work are going away from Windows Phone. Anyways, I'm not sure what ultrashot has been up to these days.
HD2 (Leo) was a Windows Mobile device (WinMo 6.5 was retroactively rebranded Windows Phone, but it bears no resemblance to the WP line). Although WP7 was successfully ported to the Leo, the hardware actually did not conform to the chassis specification for the OS; calling it a "Windows Phone device" is therefore more than a little disingenuous. Besides, even among WinMo devices, the Leo was absurdly multi-OS capable; most mobile devices are lucky if they ever get two different OS families running on them. Leo had WinMo, WP7, Android, desktop Linux, and a handful of others as well; the fact that this is notable makes it the exception which proves the rule that generally, it's not possible.

And only think that the bigger part of cotulla's projects weren't public released (windows embedded compact 7, apple stuff and so on ) I wonder what he is doing now..and where is the DFT (probably they are working on htc one). Anyway, I think that a dual boot between android and WP8 is not possible because of UEFI..android doesn't have it so it's impossible to make it boot if on the phone there's WP8. Cotulla made a long chain to make it possible: HSPL-MAGLDR(to run android)-UEFI MAGLDR(to run WP8) And HTC or any other manufacter will do something like that. Windows asked HTC to give a choice (Android OR windows phone)..I think that HTC refused because Microsoft asked even to Huawei and Samsung in any chase HTC is failing, probably will close soon..
Why are you doing this,Android is not smooth,I hate it,so I buy a windows phone to instead HTC Desire.

And what about now ? still nothing?
Recently My bank put a App online, and this the only way that I can deal with my bank and the App is only for iOS or Android...and dont really want to buy anything else
In my country, few people every day bombard bank mail with demand for WP app and after one year we got bank app for WP8... You never get Android on WP device. Forget it.
