Hi ,
My girlfriend has had her galaxy s for about 4 months i recently flashed darkys rom onto it, with no problems (excellent rom btw), but now the phone has started doing menu and back on its own randomly making it impossible to do anything on it for longer than a few minutes , its like the soft keys are being pressed (but they arent of course).
I've had a google and came to the conclusion its a hardware fault and not software (ive tried factory reset / re-flashing roms/ kernels) but now i have the problem i cant send the phone back to tmobile with a custom firmware so is there anywhere i can download tmobile firmware and stock kernel to make it like when she got it ?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
In the General chat, there is a link to all the stock roms. Select the one you want and install that one. I am on t mobile in the uk and my code is TMU so that will most likely be fine for you.
By the way - Its exactly what I did last month and they fixed it fine for me with no questions...

hi thanks for the quick response , ive already installed a stock firmware but when the phone boots up it doesnt do the tmobile logo now, plus the firmware i have installed, i'm not sure if thats ever been available on tmobile , which firmware did you send your phone back to them with if you dont mind me asking ?
Hi,
I used the JP1 stock rom here. I remember now that once I installed the stock one I used the Kies registry hack to put the latest t-mobile firmware on there. Then it was branded T-Mobile again. The only problem is that now kies has been updated the Registry hack may not work.
If I were to send you a nandroid backup of my original T-Mobile rom (I did that when I got a new one!) Would that help?

I would blame the rom before the hardware and want a wipe to a very clean phone and install a stock rom .
You cannot download TMobile firmware you need somebody to give it to you unless you backed up your original firmware .
The only way to get TMobiles firmware would be to downgrade your phone to stock Eclair then use Kies to update as normal to Froyo branded TMobile or if that failed use the registry patch .
Fix on a non stock rom is going to depend on the guy that picks the phone up and the problem .

It would be brilliant if you could do that, how can you send it though ?
@ jjegan i have completely wiped the phone, changed the firmware to 2.1update1 same problem still exists with the soft keys randomly pressing themselves thanks anyway .
can any one give me some advice about making this phone look as stock uk tmobile as possible before i send it back ?
My Galaxy Tab currently on Euro firmware since I flashed to it inorder to have the call function to it. But now my phone have problem and Im about to send back to Samsung to get it fix, but before I wanted to redo my fw to it original which is Tmobile US stock fw so that doesn't have the phone function in it. Hope someone can point me to the direction. Thanks in advanced
Quite some time ago I debranded my S5830, it was on stock o2 firmware. I backed up the original firmware and stored it on my external hard drive, however, the drive failed (mechanical fault ) and I'm unable to retrieve the backup, and I'm now kicking myself for not backing up my backup!
I can't find a stock o2 UK rom anywhere, samfirmware doesn't have one and I've searched various sites offering stock firmwares, aswell as searching the forums here at XDA.
Does anyone have, or know where I can find, a stock o2 UK firmware flashable via ODIN? I really need it for warranty purposes, or, failing that, would I be able to get away with flashing a stock firmware from another country? There are stock o2 German roms available, would I be able to use one of those for warranty purposes?
OR, would it be possible to flash a nandroid backup from another S5830 running stock o2 UK firmware?
I'm pretty stuck here guys, I've tried searching to no avail, I would be incredibly grateful if anyone would be able to help me at all!
Thanks guys.
First .. if you didn't want to mess up your warranty you shouldn't have flashed it in the first place (but I'm not someone who has a right to have a go at you for it) , umm once you flashed your phone your warranty became invalid , if you take it into o2 they will be able to tell that you have flashed it anyway ( I think) I'm not a warranty expert but that's kind of common scence

Hi Guys, Im a bit new to all this but ...
After updating my old phone a mate asked me to have a go at his Galaxy S I9000.
Rooted ok updated to ICS and got heaps of errors poping up randomly. so I did a restore which failed to the point CM recovery couldn't mount anything so I found and followed instructions to recover a soft bricked phone which included PDA PHONE and CSC files,
This got rid of the errors but wouldn't recognize the SIM at all. so I tried another restore to the nandroid backup (figured I had nothing to lose), now it recognizes the Sim, has an IMEI, efs and csc folders/files. if I go to settings all the settings are back in there (Vodafail Australia) but I get no signal....not sure where to go from here....do I need to find another CSC for it or what...ANY help would be much apreciated Ta
just to clarify the phone if Vodafone branded, network unlocked and useing an Amaysim SIM (optus carrier)
have you tried flashing a different baseband
