it will be good if you can do a search before starting a new thread, if you look in the accessories thread, all the info you need is available.

Check out the videos Ploone posts. They're very informative videos of various cases for the Nexus S.
I personally use the Case-Mate Pop at the moment. The review is found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4auzR3OVB8
To this very day, I don't regret paying $34.99 for this. There are some flaws with it though, some of the rubber falls off. But I peeled it off and now its fine. The highlights of this case is DEFINITELY without a doubt the easiness to press on the sidebuttons and the grip that the case provides.
I'll be getting a Ringke case this week for a review. Some user experiences of the Ringke case are: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026779

The Ringke case slides in and out of my pockets just fine. Some users think the back is slippery, while others think otherwise. It doesn't have a sticky texture or anything like that, just a matte-like texture. SGP also has a similar case to the Ringke, although I like the details of the Ringke case much better. Someone else posted a review of the SGP case.

I've got a video on the Active X and the Ringke. I find the Ringke to be smooth with a slight texture to it for minimal grip.
The Active X is decent, offers good protection but doesn't look particularly great.

I suggest skinomi.

Take a look at the feather case from incipio. It is not an extreme protection kind of armour but it's stylish and it has a surprisingly good look and feel. It can also can take a couple of drops (done it!)

[Q] Thinnest Case?

Hi,
I am looking for a case that adds minimal bulk to the device. I would prefer something with a soft-touch finish, but not necessarily silicone.
So far, I have looked at the Seidio Surface, the SGP Ultra Silke, and the Rearth Ringke.
Does anyone know from experience which of these cases is thinnest?
Also, has anyone found other cases that will retain the slimness of the phone?
Thanks.
I dont know from experience but from reading these forums the incipio feather case maybe be the slimmest. Its hard case that snaps on but doesnt cover the top or bottom of the phone. I do got the Rearth Ringke which is awesome. The fit is great.

Thanks for the reply. Is the Rearth Ringke relatively slim as well?
Also interested in a slim case.
Its really not that bad. The fit is great and the texture it has is a nice touch. It has enough grip to keep it from slipping but slippery enough to keep lent and fingerprints off.

^That's good to know.
Does anyone else have any suggestions for slim cases?
you could get these if you would consider a skin http://www.adreama.com/products/mobile-phone-skins/samsung/nexus-s
they're pretty damn thin, give good grip, protects the outside of your phone from scratches, and you get two so you can pick which color you prefer
I wish case mate would make a barely there case. There seems to be a huge demand for it.
incipio case quite slim, soft, and sexy.. the only drawback is it's quite fragile. my friend bought it awhile ago, he had SOD (sleep of death) many times using netarchy kernel and he had to remove the case to remove the battery. after a few remove, the case start to get loose and finally the case gave up and broke..

This seems interesting. I have found several cases identical to this on eBay for as little as $3 (like this andthis).
The material seems different than other TPU cases, and is just what I am looking for. Anyone else have a case similar to this (TPU, but with matte-finish rubberized rear)?

that second one looks just like the black one that you get in the two pack I posted. I actually think that the black one looks really bad with a black phone, but that's just my opinion.
I have the incipio feather case (black) and love it. Soft touch, great grip, and best of all no fingerprints. Not a tacky rubberized feel that sticks to everything (lint, hair). There is a little space at the top and bottom that isn't covered (bottom for port access) but it looks great. very slim. I bought the standard black case that best but had available on launch day and the crappy rubbery screen protector. Couldn't stand either one and dug out my g1 sleeve cover.
Bought the incipio because I hate the slick back of the phone. Been using it ever since.
I would disagree that it is fragile. I take it off and put it back on at least once a week and haven't had any loosening or breakage (after several months of use). Thing is still rock solid and fits perfectly snug.
hopefully this is helpful.
edit: although it is very thin and adds very little bulk, it is noticeable. With the case on, my phone no longer fits in my g1 sleeve and this makes me kind-of a sad panda.

How is your overall experience with the two-pack case that you posted? Does it add too much bulk to the device, or attract dust/lint?

Thanks so much for the detailed review. I appreciate the input.
The Feather seems to be a promising alternative to the other cases, mainly because I love the soft touch finish.

I actually think that the phone fits better in my hand with the case on. i'm not worried that i'm going to snap it in half on accident and it's only the tiniest bit bulkier than it normally would be.
I seem to notice little hairs and stuff accumulating right where the case stops, but it's easy enough to either wipe them off without removing the case or to just pull the case off and clean around the edges. overall, I think it's a great case. I added some before and after pictures so you could see how little bulk there is.
I also have the Incipio Feather Case and agree with discussion above. Actually have 2 for 2 phones.
Black is matte finish. Teal is not, but its not a hard, shiny plastic feel. I really like it, questioned buying but so tired of black (their other colors are
very bright, way too much for a mother of 3).
I was looking for the thinnest case possible and feel this is it.
The top and bottom is open so won't protect there, but has the corners.
The thing I love the most is the grip, felt the phone was too slick and just
waiting to drop. This solved that. I do not feel it is fragile, don't take off
that much, but have no problems using fingernail. It is tight, but that is good.
Would highly recommend. And if shopping on Ebay, there are some for $20
shipped. It states Nexus S (not specific for 4g, even on the box when you
receive it), but if it is Incipio, not knock off, it works.
sgp case is very good

[Q] Decent Nexus S Case?

I've been searching all around for a decent case for my new phone. I want something that will give it minor drop protection, isn't bulky and doesn't look ugly. Locally I don't have much of a selection but the two I've been looking at are the adreama case and the incipio feather case. Does anyone have any suggestions or have tried either of those cases?
I have the incipio feather. I bought it only so I could lay my phone down without fear of scratching my camera or backplate. It offers little to no drop protection. But can barely tell its there if you like a minimalist approach.
I have a rocketfish case I got at best buy. I was looking for exactly the same thing you are. It's a rubbery case but the outside is hard coated, as are the edges so it doesn't stretch or stick. It's all black and molds to the phone. I really love mine.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketf...lack/2494399.p?id=1218330754572&skuId=2494399
Any cheap TPU case will do. Can't see myself plopping over 10$ for a case, and definitely don't like the so said protection of "hard" cases they sell just about everywhere. Next thing you know the case blows into 1 billion tiny pieces or just breaks away from your phone at the most minor drop.
This from SGP is very nice, and comes with a first rate screen protector.
http://www.sgpstore.com/sgp-google-nexus-s-case-ultra-silke-series.html.
I just bought this one:
http://goo.gl/fktZi
Very happy with it. Makes the phone feel very solid. It does add some bulkiness, but it's worth it because the case feels great to hold.
This is the one I use, I have had it on it since day one. Reminds me of an otterbox, but half the price and not nearly as bulky.
Bump for Incipio, have one in blue, one in teal and its subdued. Does offer protection, least bulk I could find and love it.
Thanks for everyones responses, I think I'm going to settle on the Feather case. One more question, is it necessary to have a screen protector? I'm generally pretty safe with screens, I managed to have all of my iPod screens live without a scratch so far but I'm not sure how much this screen will be able to manage.
I have the Incipio thin feather case. Its as low as $16.95 on Ebay and is super thin, sexy, and sleek. Just be prepared to beat women off of you. They come runnin'. lol
Google Nexus S Pop! Cases
This case is a great addition to my Sprint Nexus - S. It was very easy to put the phone in the case basically just running one's thumbnail around the edge will make sure the phone is in tight and well sealed.
The case 'elevates' the phone's glass off of a surface when placing the phone face down. Plus, the rubber edge makes a nice satisfying and 'rubbery' thunk, and you know it just won't slide around!

I had a TPU case and then got the Rearth Ringke case, and the Ringke case is much better. Retains thinness of the phone, looks sleek and feels great in the hands. Worth looking into.
Incipio Feather is awesome. I'm less worried about protection and more worried about how slippery this phone is. The case gives it grip and looks alright too.

+1 for incipio feather. Just picked myself up one.. won't offer much drop protection but it's a sleek slim case.
I have never been one for cases, but I purchased the Incipio Feather and I haven't had the need to take it off. Love the damn thing.
Hope that helps.
another +1 for incipio feather. just got mine yesterday, great case. and i think it would actually offer some drop protection, at least if it landed on a corner or back.
if you need to access the back of the phone frequently though, to change battery or sim, forget this case. it fits really really well, and would be a pain to take off all the time imho.

A screen protector is a must have, there are no arguments against it.
You can get already 3 protectors in high quality for 1.77$!
And im not a fan of any case, smartphones are thick enough and you take it off after a while anyways.

looking for a slim case with kickstand.

hey there guys I'm looking for a case for my samsung Verizon Galaxy Note 2. looking for one that fits the stock battery as well as one that fits the extended battery.trying to find with a kickstand is proving difficult.I don't want a folio or one that closes like a book I want that had the screen open all the time. also need it to be able to go in and out of my pocket easy without catching, smooth if you will but still has some grip. a tall order I know I've looked quite a bit any help is much appreciated.
The seidio surface looks like the thinnest case with a kickstand but I'm just judging by looking online.
You could look into the flygrip too. I have it and it's actually a lot thinner then I thought it would be. I love it, it makes one handed operation so much easier and it doubles as a kickstand you can use in portrait or landscape. Plus you can attach it to any case.

+1 for the Seidio surface case. Good protection, hardly adds any bulk at all, and it does have a kickstand. I usually use the active cases on my phones, but the note 2 being as big as it is, I didn't want to add that much bulk. So far very happy with the surface case. (And I've dropped it a few times, holds up very well.)
Another vote for the surface. I love the look and feel of mine. The only thing to note is that it may push up your screen protector if you have one. I had to trim mine with an exacto knife before I applied it once the surface was on. Now I'm looking at the vitreo as a new surface protector as that'll fit with the surface as is.
I ordered this case. Will let you know how it is.

I have that exact case too. After a while the kickstand did start to fall out of the case but i found out it was because the tiny (and I mean tiny) bump that they consider a latch had broken off. So I just dabbed a little super glue and it fits just fine.
It does get a little slippery at times, but I like that the kickstand is pretty sturdy on portrait mode. You don't often see a kickstand that is sturdy and doesn't topple the phone when you press on it.

Agreed. Before getting the ZL battery, I tried a couple of kickstand cases and the thinner cases have thin kickstands.

I purchased the Seidio case with the kickstand. I've used their cases for quite some time simply because they have such a low profile and it's easy to remove the battery. My wife has the Otterbox on her Note II, but only because she doesn't know how to hold on to her device and has already shattered one Note II. The protection you get from the Otterbox is nice, but I really prefer the smaller footprint of the Seidio. Also, the kickstand works terrific.

I have the Sedio Surface case and I liked the kickstand on that a lot, but I did have one gripe. After having to take out my battery a few times I noticed the case didn't stay together very well. Sometimes the case would actually come apart in my pocket when I went to grab it from my pocket. I did find sticking some thin paper between the case and the phone helped with it coming apart often though. If you don't find yourself taking off your case a lot it might be a good case.

Lightweight case with good protection?

Hey everyone,
At the moment I use a rubber TPU case (that looks ugly) and is somewhat bulku. My priority is getting the phone in least bulk and reasonable protection to go with it. Preferrably stylish.
Any suggestions?

Is it lightweight? Because Otterbox is SERIOUSLY bulky, and I'm looking for LIGHTWEIGHT case - that is the main thing for me.
I mean "not as bulky as otterbox" still sounds bulky, doesn't it?
It is lightweight.

I have the official note 2 bumper case from Samsung. It's pretty lightweight, looks great, and offers good drop protection from most angles. There isn't enough of an overhang to really protect the screen if it fell flat, but otherwise a back/corner drop should be well covered.
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Protec...398878790&sr=8-2&keywords=note+II+bumper+case
The Diztronic TPU cases are also great, it doesn't look like a lot of protection, but I had one on my S3 and dropped it on tile, wood, gravel, and asphault without any major damage. They also feel and look great in hand. This probably is a bit better than the Samsung case on a face-flat drop since it's raised higher above the screen.

I agree with you, although the Seidio Surface is probably more suited to what the OP is looking for:

I have dropped my phone several times, and I partially ran over it in the yard with my riding lawnmower last week and it has survived.
I have noticed a best option for the case aswell extra power supply
i am unable to post the link for outside ones as i am newbee. but go to alibabaDOTcom and search for powercase for n7100
It must be the best option for the phones which are hungry of battery
If you are ok with a flip cover (for screen protection), I have a Kalaideng (KLD) that is very stylish with a (fake) leather finish. Its light, but a bit bulky though.
Otterbox commuter case is the best.
Maybe not along ht elines of what the OP is after but since a lot of folks are brinigng up the Otterbox Commuter...
The RedPepper waterproos case for the Note 2 looks pretty good. Bit bulky, but fully weather sealed, as in submergable.
Readily available on ebay too for like $20.
Anyone interested in an otterbox defender case, like new. I basically put it on, did not like, & took off. I just can't bring myself to throw it away, $10, if interested pm me.

which case would you recomend for bumps

Im use to samsung and apple phones so theres always been alot of choice, but for the nexus theres just a few brands im not familiar with.
Ive used an apple leather case, tech21 case, trident case, ballistic case, and incipio.
Im looking for a case that looks good and decent protection.
I plan to keep the phone in my pocket, and at work i tend to bump into things. Also since the phone is so big id like drop protection.
So out of all the cases out there which would you recomend and why?
Take a look at UrbanArmorGear or UAG

I would recommend Moko or Supcase. They are both pretty thick cases, and in my opinion, are pretty easy on the eyes
Cruzerlite TPU and TUDIA TPU cases are Mt favorites. They are slim, protect against drops and are great all around cases.
I just pick this case up from Amazon. It's a pretty nice case doesn't add too much bulk to the phone. It looks pretty good on the phone.

I like how theyre slimmer. Do you really think it would protect the nexus from a fall?
The UAG case turns has the horrible logo mixup haha, maybe they'll have other colors?
Havent seem the other cases, i look them up.
Also are thet Spigen cases any good?

I've got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid on my N6. Two drops from waist height onto asphalt, right on the corner. No damage to the phone or the case.
I was impressed considering the Galaxy S3 I had before I got the N6 fell off my bed, right on the corner, with an Otterbox Commuter case on it and the lcd was destroyed.
I'm sure the other heavier duty spigen cases will give you even more protection. I just got the Ultra Hybrid because it doesn't hide the white back I went through so much hell trying to obtain...

Are any of these previously mentioned cases, grippy? Like the OP, I'm looking for some protection, but I'd like a case that's very grippy (almost rubber-like), resists fingerprints, isn't so thick that it messes up wireless charging, and doesn't cover up the Nexus logo (everyone leaves the moto one intact, but covers up the Nexus! Heresy!) Any cases out there like that, or that a pipe dream?

Which doesn't exist.
Okay no spigen now haha, seen some horrible reviews.
Anybody try the versus slim case or the versus thor case?
I'd look at the ringke fusion. Looks good, relatively protective and better grip.

Thor isn't out yet. I have it ordered, but yet to receive it.
This case is amazing, buy it I guarantee you that you will be more than happy with this. I will be uploading a review for this case tonight on my youtube channel.

I got the cruzerlite and I have the i-blason armor box. Both are awesome. Cruzerlite for when I want it slim and i-blason when I want that otter box type of protection, and it's pretty nice for 9 bucks.

I saw that one, and actually ordered it last week. It's scheduled for delivery on Monday. I'll let everyone know what I think of it when it arrives.
