Today I dropped my cappy face down on my driveway. Anyone know where I could buy a screen & how to replace it?

Its going to be expensive because the plastic face and the digitizer(basically the entire front half of the phone) is all one peice.

Thats what you need. I got that with a google search, you know what you need, if you want it cheaper and how to do it you should probably use google.

Should be enough info to get you started

I just cracked the screen on my thrill :-(, I can still see and use everything on the phone just fine but I have a massive spiderweb, my question is, is it easy to find someone that replaces screens? and is the Thrills screen going to be particularly hard to replace because it's 3d?

You can buy parts on Amazon for fairly cheap. What area are you in?
You might find a phone repair service on Craigslist

according to my knowledge there is no connection between 3d thing and the front glass which u broke up. The stereoscopic panel is behind the screen. So the screen is a typical LCD capacitive one which you can replace. Screen+ degitalizer willc cost something around $45 .
thanks for the replies, I am in the Seattle area I looked on craigs list but all I can find are people who fix iphones. I guess I'll just buy the parts and attempt to fix it myself
Go to YouTube and after the / put this
watch?desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DBxKozJEY2RE&v=BxKozJEY2RE&gl=CA
Instructional video... good luck it doesn't look to challenging just remember ur parts as best as possible. There is a site written on the bottom of the video where u can get tools I do not know if it safe or not but it might help....also be careful around the boards with a screw driver if you slip and scratch your board you can permantly ruin your phone let us know how it went

I broke my screen =( and yes im going to blame it on the dog cause he did do it haha. I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this? i saw some tutorials on youtube but i dont know where is a good place to get a screen or which one to get anyone deal with it before? thanks
Check www.gounlock.com or
www.mengtor.com
You need to make sure if only digitizer(outer glass) is broken or LCD (usually blank screen if it's broken)as well. LCD is expensive to replace but If you have to then buy reassembled LCD and digitizer combo which is like $65 on eBay.
Or sell it on eBay as "for parts not working" around $50 and find cheaper from craigslist at around 175-200.

I've replaced the digitizer screen on the vivid three times. Repairs universe is where I ordered my screens.
HTC Vivid CM 10
Well I'm using the phone, I have insurance for it too so I'll just replace the screen then the LCD through insurance for free if that's the case but thanks you two. And was it hard for you to do sense you've done it 3 times

I wasn't too bad my advice: Take your time, follow the guide and you'll be fine. Wish I had a guide the first time I did it...
Had to replace mind..and now my bezel doesn't fit the same...=(...Oh well...do make sure to wipe that LCD clean with a micro-cloth or something JUST BEFORE putting the digitizer over it. One hair or something gets in there, it will bug you the rest of its life!
dropped my old vivid (before i bricked it) on concreate. shattered that m'fker upp.. lmao.. i ordered a replacmemnet from amazon and did it myself. its not too hard. look up a youtube tut. or i can do it for you if you want. $10+ whatever the screen costs
Thanks guys I bought a screen so hopefully I can do it without ****ing up. I called att and apparently there insurance covers it but I have to pay 120 deduct able witch is bs ...

the camera-module would be an easy replacement, you just need to remove the black part of the case under the battery secured by three screws and carefully pry it off. what i've heard though (over a year ago, when i was about to repair mine) is that the camera-module is somehow coupled to the specific phone it is in by a s/n or something, i don't know. didn't have a chance to test it out myself though.
just checked prices. i'd say you can give it a try, since the module is only 10 bucks on ebay. this one even comes with the needed screwdrivers:

this should get you set:
www .ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+One+Teardown/1654/1
just a quick tip: if you remove the little metal-bracket/frame holding the cam in place, take notes of the orientation of bracket and cam so you can correctly reasseble it right away.
have fun!
Yeah I'm Gina have to try that later. I'm not to worried about it just wondering if it can be done as my n1 is not my main phone anymore

My Nexus One fell from my bike and has cracks all over its face now. :crying: However, the touch sensitivity seems intact and there's only a visual impairment (and a finger-hazard) due to the cracks.
Here's the phone as of now: imgur . com/a/SQJjB (please remove the spaces, can't post links yet).
I'm able to unlock and operate the phone like normal , but the broken glass poses a danger in both using and transporting the phone like normal.
If I want to get this fixed, would I have to go for the usually suggested "touch screen digitizer" replacement? Or since the touch sensitivity is intact in this case, could this end up with a cheaper/easier fix?
I ask here because the local HTC centre says they have to send it across to the next state and can't give me a cost estimate either, so I want to know whether this would be worth the fixing cost. Thanks!
Yup, whole digitizer needs to be replaced
Really isn't super complicated either so if your willing to try to fix it yourself you'll find the screen super cheap on eBay and many guides on how to

Thanks.
I've found the digitizer at a few different places, but there are also warnings here and there about how the actual LCD screen inside is paper thin and can be very easily damaged during this fixing. For a newbie to phone repairs (but who's worked with PCs/other electronics quite a bit), how much of a risk would that be in your estimation? Those warnings were mostly for other phone models, do those apply to N1 too?
I don't feel like the n1 is as much of an issue in this regard compared with other devices. I have had this issue with a few phones and did ruin one display once, but that's out of 100s of fixes (used to have an eBay store buying and fixing phones) and the n1 isn't what I would put on the difficult side.
Just watch some YouTube videos on this replacement and see if you think its something your comfortable with, personally I think this phone is on the easier side to disassemble
Best of luck!

I would like someones opinion on this phone. Its works and everything just separated a little from housing. Is there anything i could do? Maybe just a case to cover the back? The screen just has couple stratches other than that phone is fine. Here is a pic. Im getting this for real cheap. Charging port is fine too
I think you can get a a new back replacement - couple that with a skin, and it might hold together. tough to tell really from that pic though.
But a case could hold it together too? Maybe even electrical tape around the side of the charging port going up the right side of the phone?

. I was told just now from the seller over time i could get dead spots. The back is separating its not separated. The digitizer is part of the glass. Was told could get develop dead spots over time. Anyone else go through this or might have a solution to keep it all intact? Its functional the way it is i heard
Honestly, I wouldn't accept it if it was badly damaged, even for free. You can get very good phones for ~$100. Check swappa or eBay.
