What I have always thought was if u unlock a GSM phone u can only use it with other GSM carrier's same for cdma
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App

Yeah, I don't think you can use a gsm phone on a cdma network. Doesn't have the correct antenna.

Why are you paying 129 for unlimited when sprint has it for 99?

Unlock code

Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
Does anyone know if you can unlock this phone like you can a tmobile phone? Just wanted to ask since this phone uses a sim card.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
Would be pointless considering you couldn't use it on a GSM network like ATT or TMobile. Doesn't use the same frequency or band either.
Although the cards look alike they are different; see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA_Subscriber_Identify_Module

[Q]LTE sim card

I just bought this phone from craigs list, coming from the infuse...now I understand that this phone requires an LTE sim card in order to use the pta apn...can someone please let me know how to get one and if they cost money?
As of right now I'm using the legacy apn settings so I'm using hspa+...but j would love to try the 4Glte...if its even available in my area...gotta check
Anyways basically how do I get a 4Glte sim card and does it cost money
Also if I have to call att will they do it for free since my 2 year contract with my infuse wasn't up?

Of you go by an AT&T store they will give you a new Sim for free as long as you haven't gone in there and got one every week for the last year.

No problem. when you go make sure it's an actual AT&T store not a authorized retailer, not sure if they will do it there. And welcome to the vivid

You will also need to make sure they add the right data plan for you to use the pta apn

Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
They are actually the same price they just need to change in the system for you to connect to LTE and use pta apn settings

Lol went to att store today...turns out I already have the right sim...just need to call att and have them switch me over to LTE...couldn't do it at the store because I'm not 18 and my mom wasn't with me...but I'm gonna have my mom call tonight...

AT&T Note 3 to T Mobile

Okay so I have an AT&T Note 3. And Im tired of dealing with AT&T haha. Too pricey. Is there any way I can use mine on T Mobiles network? Fixing to order a sim card from them. Will it work?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
You have to obtain a SIM unlock code. You can either call at&t if your the original owner and get one for free. I go overseas a lot so they gave it to me. Or you can obtain one for a price online.
If the phone is or gets blacklisted, it won't work on at&t or tmobile anymore.
It will work. I did it.
However, the service is not as good as a full blown T-Mobile phone and there will be no wifi calling. I am debatig on selling this and buying the T-Mobile brand phone...
If you do not care about wifi calling you can install the T-Mobile Rom on the ATT Note 3. I did and the phone service was much better.

It is fairly straightforward. Was easy to install.
Once I installed the TMO os on the phone it WORKED BETTER. Again, I cannot wifi call but adding the tmo carrier option via the Modificatinator helped a lot and it FIXED THE GPS issue. It's obvious the GPS issue is ATT related. Was not easy adding the additional TMO carrier options on the Modificatinator but once figured it was cake.
Yep and then some
It will most certainly work on T-Mobile if you ended your contract/relationship with ATT legally/appropriately. Visit - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485441 for some really important information while switching. There are changes to build.prop that can improve 4G speed , reception , etc.
Okay so I unlocked my phone. Im using t mobile now. But 4G doesnt work. Any way I can get it to work?

[Q] Rogers Note 3 - Moving from Canada to US

Hello all,
I will be transferring from Canada to Tacoma, WA in the next few months and am seeking some advice on what to do with my wife's Rogers Wireless Note 3 (SM-N900W8). She recently used Roger's hardware upgrade program to get the phone and really likes it. If I unlock her phone, will it work on a US carrier? What carriers do you recommend?
Also, if anyone has cable/internet suggestions for the Tacoma / JBLM area they would be appreciated.
Thanks!
It should work fine on T-Mobile or AT&T. Personally I use AT&T but I was on T-Mobile for years.

Thanks, I was hoping to go with Verizon based on their coverage in Washington, but it looks like AT&T would work as well.
Well, Verizon is a CDMA Carrier. They only use a SIM card for LTE connectivity.
Is your phone capable of CDMA and GSM?
