Quick question (rom) - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have roto-jmi-v2 rom and the dictionary keeps force closing can i uninstall it without any issues or does it have to have one thanks!

Anybody know, anyone, anyone????????????????????

Should i post this in general????????????????????

Posting in general wont make somebody answer your question. Just be patient and if anybody can answer they will.
Why dont you make a nand backup via CWR and if your have issues after removing dictionary restore your backup, simple.

please help me...how flash my kaiser without lose my prgm.thanks...
you cant, you should backup your program files/my documents before flashing, and you should have cabs for all your programs ready.. also use "pimbackup" to backup your sms/contacts/calendar...
hes right updating a rom erases everything back to factory settings, i suggest you read about the process before posting aswell senior members and mods can close threads that are redundant, and some can be rather rude about the answers you want
here is a link to find out more about rom flashing
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
and as for updating search the kaiser rom board to find out which is best for you
backup
with spb backup i am ok?thanks my friend...
im trying to help as many as i can, where i can
just be wary of senior members and mods being a bit rough with you, do a google search for the software you want or search this forum first theres a button on the top right of the forum to do this
if then you cant find what you want then ask here
or the higher ups will get mad
no prbs

Yes that is ok. I always sync my contacts to my PC just in case.
just back up your contacts with either AS or PIMbackup...then go search and read about UC-user customization and then when u flash it will save u a lot of work

return to stock theme and make my own mods

I installed a black theme primarily for gettin the battery percentage, but now I got a widget..so i want to revert back to the stock ROM..how do i do that?
also, what tools/knowledge do i need to make my own themes/colour changes?
all tools and all knowledge you need you can find in this forum.
don`t be lazy and search like everyone else here.
well..forget about the tools then..at least tell me how to get a stock theme back??
i did search and all that comes up are other threads about various themes, with about 100 replies each...
forgive me then for thinking that these forums were here to help..clearly you're not the helping type...if you cant be bothered helping, best thing is to not reply and wait for someone else to reply who will be happy to help..
what do you want stock theme or stock rom? you can just flash a rom with the stock theme over top of what you have. nandroid first of course. this is the most obvious/clear solution i can think of. I.E. if you're running cyanogen with a morph or a theme and you want to get back to the stock theme, just reflash the CM rom over top of what you have, all settings will be saved.

if you want mod themes/roms, you are failing at the first mission. you have to learn how to use google or the forum search so you are able to find the info you need. it is normal to read threads with more then 100 postings, in this threads are often a lot of informations. i did it the same way. if you want something, do something for it. why should someone else do the searching for you?
https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AcdxIJRSH9ypZGZzc2pxNDlfMjdnazk4OHNxZA&hl=en
read this. if you don`t understand something, search in forums. if you really find no info after a long search, you can ask in this subforum.
i know where to find themes..i can see about themes on the forum at modaco, i can see the themes here, i can see the special thread with all the morphs..i know how to use google and the search....
i wasnt asking anyone to do the searching for me..on normal forums, you ask a question and someone who knows answers..you dont expect someone to search and tell you the answer..on forums if i see a question i can answer, i answer it..i dont tell that person to go search for it..
anyway..enough about that..thanks for the link

[Q] Looking For A Little Help If Possible

I'm brand new and hoping to get some advice if possible. I was able to root the phone with no problem thanks to the One Click Root Program so thank you to the Unlockr and to the thread on here.
Now, I'm not sure what to do about a custom ROM. I honestly just want to get rid of the AT&T bloatware. Other than that I have no requirements. I don't really care other than that as long as I can get rid of things that I don't want.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

since you got root, to remove att junks: install root explorer from android market and uninstall each junk manually. for custom firmware search forum for clockwork recovery (rom manager from market) and read instruction on op to install. gudluck

Download titanium backup which is free. It allows you to uninstall apps. Even system apps. Read and be careful. For the most part avoid all Google apps
Captivate
Cog 2.4
Thank you! I appreciate the help so far.
I apologize for posting in the wrong section. I thought I was in the right place but that was my mistake.
This thread can be deleted. I was able to root it and get Cognition on it with no trouble.
Thank you to everyone involved with the development and donations will follow soon.

[Q] Am i posting it wrong?

Hi
I'm new to forums. But I like this one. People are discussing stuff instead of complaining about their devices. I'm learning a lot. But I still need an answer to my question. And I don't think it's very complex. So I thought maybe I'm posting it wrong. Is there anything else one should do to get there post replied to. Like tagging it in some way. It's not a complaint. I really wanna know to be able ro enjoy the forum fully.
Cheers
You don't need to do anything special. What is your question?
Oh cool
Hi
Thank you very much indeed for replying. I was just wondering if it was safe to update a rooted galaxy 8.9. I got the update message in my settings so it's a proper factory official update but I've never done it before so I was a bit worried after having read about some bricked phones and (don't even know what bricked means but sounds scary).
And if you could answer another question as well please that would be really nice.
Recently my tablet crashed in a weird way so I had to reinstall every single application on my tablet. After the crash every single app was force closing and it asked me for the date and the region. Since then it crashes not very often but regularly. So I thought maybe I need to do a hard reset or even reflash the rom. But now, as far as understand, updating my firmware should sort it out for me. Am I right in thinking so?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have not heard of anyone who has bricked their gt8.9 updating a rooted device. You possible loose root when you update, but you can just flash the root.zip again. In worst case you end up with a soft brick, this can be fixed with flashing stock firmware with Odin.
If you are having random crashes, i would start with factory reset. Please dont forget to backup before, because factory reset will delete everything on your tablet.
Update to latest version. Latest versions are a lot better then early builds.
Hope this helps.
Thank you very much indeed.
Will I be alright following the instructions in this forum's guide on how to use the ODIN?

Yes, but i don't think you are going to need Odin. Just click update. If you get any problems, then let us know and I'm sure that there is someone here who will help you restore stock firmware if needed.
This thread has nothing to do with me and I have nothing to contribute other than to say that you're a class act, poisike. Too many people on XDA think it's OK to be rude to newcomers and that obnoxious comments about using search add value to the board. +6 internets to you.

Not enough space for new apps cm11

Hello
Im on latest cm11 (i used partition table tool-optimal) and I have about 400+mb of free memory on my intrernal sdcard.
However, I can't install new apps (not from store nor from file manager), it says i dont have enough of space.
What can i do with it?
Thanks
Try run ng cm cleaner, I had a similar issue where when flashing from stock my cache didn't get wiped for some reason and took up all my memory, ran cm cleaner and cleared out the cache giving my memory back, also just check the files saved in storage, ROMs and backups can take a lot of memery, best to save them on the sdcard.

Thanks, but I have enough of free space everywhere, still cant install anything.
Can anybody competent help me?
Should i get some logs?
Your welcome but sorry misread your og post, not to experienced with partition tool, never used it.
Other wise, there was no need for the insult, if your more re competent than me, than you should be able to figure that out for your self.
Some one else on here should be able to help you.

Statements like this are considered abusive and ARE NOT condoned here at XDA-Developers.
Now, you've done something that is not a standard practice to do, and that's repartitioning your device. This is extremely risky and honestly more than likely the culprit of your current dilemma.
Did you just install CM11? If so, did you follow the installation instructions in the OP? And a thousand more questions that I could ask in an attempt to help you out of your situation. Always include as much information as possible when asking questions like this.

You've been warned once already. Now you're going to insult yet someone else who is trying to help you.
@ olionephanko this forum is operated by volunteers... Being rude means no one will bother to help you...
Another non-competent post with redundant info.
Keep your OT for yourself.
Closing this thread.
Let's all remember to treat each other with a little respect and decency and not call people who try to help us incompetent, lest no one wants to help in the future..
