What is the problem?
How can i fix it?
Sorry about my english
I think that's a normal. It depends on the provider.
I think it depends on the provider if you can do that.

You put the call trough speaker and go on
I've tested on mine and it works, but it does depend on the provider, you should call them first!

Anyone got video calling working yet?
I have the GPRS/3G setup but I get 'failed video call' every time I try.
R
Suggests that
1) Your 3G settings arent correct
2) Your not recieving a 3G signal
3) The Recipicant doesnt have a 3G phone

I've tried yesterday - in fact it was super-international video call (from my UK mobile to Polish mobile while roaming in Greece . Worked with no problems at all. My suggestion would be to check if you have video call activated on your SIM card.
Ah - did not realise you needed it activated on the SIM - thought it just used the 3G connection...

no problem with vdo calls
i have no problem with the 3G vdo calls at all. must be your setting.
How do you tell if your SIM card has video calling activated?
I'd love to try it out when the 8925 arrives.
Thanks!

Depends on particular operator, but I don't expect anyone is charging extra for that. At least not in UK.
I'm using Nadavi's Dialer. Cannot start a video call, I am displaying H on my Kaiser which is faster than 3g. I logged into my AT&T account online and added the Video Share for 5.99 a month. What am I doing wrong? I tried it with another AT&T person who had the same 5.99 feature on his account and was in a 3g network. When I try it, it says failed what do you want to do. Make regular call, sms, mms, yadadadaa. PM me if you know the answer thanks otherwise just post a reply please thanks
Nadavi's dialer is not able to make video calls - you need the HTC dialer.
The Tilt is not capable of video share. Most of the Samsung and some LG phones have video share.

Oh yes it does. This is the one I am using:

Ok on Nadavis phone dialer theres a button for video call and also if you hit menu you get Video Call Options. Pretty sure it's built in to the dialer
Has anyone gotten VoIP to work with the kaiser? If so what provider are you using and what CAB?
I use VoIP with PBX in a Flash (home asterisk pbx). Click the Kaiser rom link on my sig. The VoIP cab I'm using can be found in the "recommended goodies" section of the first post there.
Thanks, I have downloaded the client and am looking for a VoIP provider that is proven to work with Windows internet calling and if possible the settings to go with it.
Bump......
Has anyone been able to use voip with the ear speaker yet? ( with the kaiser )
I use the Fring application to access Skype. What service/provider can use the built in voip?

not yet. figuring this out is a pet project of mine. itmt I've gotten used to it. The Kaiser's main speaker is on the back in the same place so it works about as well.
I seem to have gotten calls to finally be accepted by I can't seem to make any outgoing calls from the phone via VoIP with SleuthKaiserVoIP.cab install. I think I'm missing something. I keep getting this following error. "Network service is not available. Try again later."
I had the same problem, but try this procedure on clean device (after hard reset), it works on my device:
1. Install SleuthKaiserVoIP.cab.
2. Install SipConfigTool_2_0_1.cab
3. Go to SipConfigTool and set up your provider.
4. Restart device
Now you can go to phone preferences and enable Internet calls.
ps. I'm not sure but when I install SetupVoIP_v0.3.cab with SleuthKaiserVoIP.cab problem occurs. With SipConfigTool everything work fine.
Thanks, I finally seem to be able to place calls and receive them but I can't hear anything nor can the other person hear me. I also noticed a bug but I'm not sure if its related to the first one where the other person can hang up and it says on the call with my phone as if the other person was still there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What operator do you have dan366?
I currently have VoipCheap but I'm willing to switch to fix this.

I tried using it with AT&T's 3G network.
Please help me aswell
Mate, i just have had enough of this VOIP, i did managed to sucessfully configure the Service provider but when i am receiving call i cant hear the other person, they cant hear me and within 15 seconds the call disconnects, can you help at all !!!
In the phone options under the advanced Tab there is the option to reject calls and generate an automatic text message; has anybodt got this to work? It simply does nothing for me. Thanks.
Anybody have this issue?
Can somebody confirm that the reject calls text message generate function works on the Diamond......Mine does not and I'm wondering is there a Registry switch. Thanks.
just trying it now, but seems just to send it to the voicemail instead. Maybe we need to turn voicemail divert off first?
would try that, but for some reason, t-mobile doesn't seem to want to let me turn my diverts off!!
Anyone on another network care to try??

How do you turn diverts off??...cant seem to find anywhere in the phone that gives you that option ie options like when busy divert calls, when out of range divert calls etc etc
start>settings>phone>services tab
highlight call forwarding and then tap the get settings button.
Voila, Call divert options

Thanks for that...would have never guessed it would be in there lol
Btw your right, i tried to disable the voicemail feature...and it didnt work...if i press the ignore button it diverts to the voicemail...hmmm strange...
i think we need someone not on t-mobile to try it. t-mo UK is a PITA when it comes to changing stuff like voicemail settings.
Don't still have my O2 sim so couldn't try that, and am working from home for a bit today so i'm kinda stuck.
Might ask one of the guys at work to try one of our other diamonds with an orange SIM and see if that does the trick....

Its strange because on my nokia n95 8gb phone i could easily turn my voicemail on and off whenever i chose.
I did notice after i had unticked the voicemail boxes...pressed ok then exited...went back into the phone settings and saw that the boxes were ticked....as i said its strange. Because sometimes i just want the caller to hear a busy tone or the reject tone...
Hopefully someone can try with a different sim and see what happens.
it could just be that T-Mobile don't like the commands coming from the windows mobile devices then. I've only been with t-mobile since i had WM devices - about 4 years now - and i never really bothered using my other devices on the network. I think i have an old Sony Z5 around somewhere, i might charge it up and turn the voicemail off with that and then see if that helps.

Could be.,..i dont know as the Diamond is my first WM device that ive been impressed with enough to keep it.
Might give tmobile a call later and see what they have to say about it. Although i dont think im going to have much luck as when i rung them uip about mms settings they said they dont support Diamond..so couldnt help me out there.
that sounds about right for T-mo customer services.
If you can get past the usual shower of muppets on first level and get through to the guys in advanced connectivity in Doxford or Greenock, they should either be able to help or refer you to someone who can....
If i have to call them now, i refuse to speak to the lower levels and ask straight for advanced connectivity. Last time i got through (back in the days when i had my magician), was cos they'd changed their MMS settings. Finally got through to AC and they had me sorted in under 2 minutes! it's just the call filterers on levels 1 and sometimes 2 that cause the problems usually.

I have flashed the German 1.93 update to my Touch Diamond without problems and the phone is working well -- however, I don´t have the "advanced" tab in the phone option!! (and before anyone asks, no I also don´t have the German "Erweitert" Tab there).
Anyone know what´s going on here?
I´d like to turn off the short vibration the phone makes when a call is established.
Thanks // Tom
Every time my wife calls she says she can't hear me for perhaps 2-3 seconds after I think the call has connected.. My previous phone did not do this, but the Nexus One does.
Anyone heard of this, and have any suggestions? I have Google Voice call on by default, but she's calling my cell number so I don't think it'd affect anything. As far as I can tell, the call is connected, but she can't hear me say anything for several seconds. I usually wind up going "Hello? Hello? Hello?" and she finally answers.
Glad to see I am not the only one this happens to..well not glad but i just hope this means its not just my phone.
I know when they call one of my numbers (either Google Voice or Cell Phone # not sure which) it says incoming call from <Name> press 1 to answer and press 2 to send to voicemail
@sandtiger
this is from google voice it is a filter setting you can change by going to to the setting on the google voice website.
But this is a different issue (im assuming) then the OP

Yeah, I think I muddied the waters mentioning Google Voice, but these are calls directly to me cell number..
I might try disabling Google Voice just for S&G just to see what happens.. Seems when I place calls, they're connected when I expect them to be, but the delay could be more critical when answering.
I haven't yet, but going to try calling myself from my work phone to see what kind of delay I'm hearing.
I am having this problem also...did you ever find a solution?
Using BT headset by any chance?
In that case, it's normal.
Nope, no headset. Just the phone.
I need to test some more, but I think this has gone away for me.. Delay answering, plus the other party was "dropping out" often, ie: if it got quiet on their end, their voice disappeared entirely, and sometimes faded in or out while doing so.
Only thing I've changed is I disabled Google Voice as being my default call method, but this thread is about answering calls so I doubt it matters, especially since the calls were directly to my cell number not my GV number.
I might turn GV back on the way I had it and test some more, but maybe it was something weird with AT&T?
Im noticing this problem too, both on 2.1 and 2.2.
It seems to be a problem specific to AT&T N1's.
I also experience this. I've adjusted to swiping the answer button, pausing, then saying "Hello." I typically pause about 0.75 or 1 full second, and rarely do I need to do it longer.
The opposite seems to be true of the vibrate-on-connect feature: about 1 second after the person picks up, then the phone vibrates in my hand. How is that useful?! =P
Lately I've noticed that when I am in active call (standard one, not with an app that's using internet) my data speed get nasty slow - 0.300mbps... Right after I end the call my speed immediately jumps to 18mbps on 3G. I am using 3G, no need for 4G and saves battery... I test the speed with the speedtest app. So can you check if you have the same problem like me?

Pretty stupid question... Put your call on speaker mode, and do what you want with your phone... Browsing the internet, apps... Sometimes you need to check something for the person on the other half... You need fast internet. But I found the reason, it's from the carrier I am on... Many people discovered the same thing after I posted on local forum...
