Hi all,
I guess this subject must have come by, but i have not been able to find it using the search bar. So i hope some 1 can help me.
On my company we have 4 Samsung Galaxy I9000 in use, and 1 spare phone as backup.
Some of my collegue (and me aswell) changed our rom to Darky 9.5 and we are all very happy with it.
Now there is 1 phone that needs to return to the shop for repairs and i wanted to make a backup from the spare phone we have here. So i could flash his phone back to original rom.
I am from the Netherlands and the Rom that comes with the Phone is:
KIES says:
- PDA: JPC
- Phone: JPP
- Modem: JS2 (KPN(provider))
*#1234# says:
PDA: I9000XWJPC
Phone: I9000XXJPP
CSC: I9000KPNJS2
Is there a way to back up this Rom ? Or any other ideas on how to get this rom on the other phone ?
ty in advance for tips and tricks
well you could root a phone that is on stock ROM and make a nandroid backup and restore that on the phone to be sent back..
or you could go to www.samfirmware.com and find your firmware there and flash it using ODIN.
You have a 2.2 release, there is a 2.2.1 for this phone :
Code:
CheckFusDownloader_v0.5.exe -dl I9000XWJPC/I9000KPNJS2/I9000XXJPP/I9000XWJPC KPN
Give me:
Code:
Model: GT-I9000
PDA: I9000XWJPC
CSC: I9000KPNJS2
PHONE: I9000XXJPP
PCODE: KPN

It's the official ROM is you try to upgrade your phone with Kies 2.0. You can try to install a SpeedMod Kernel before upgrading to format system and cache and wipe Dalvik cache, return in Download mode and Flash this ROM via Odin v1.3 in "One file Mode" (no repartition and no pit file, just the ROM in PDA file).
You need to have the 3 button combo working to do all this things to go in Recovery mode for "clean up" the phone via SpeedMod (no necessary but always good to do).

Ideal backup would be genuine original rom or genuine updated rom via Kies and back that up as stock factory rom .
I did via Kies registry spoofing and i believe that current Kies allows you to save firmware or at least its downloaded during the update and you save a copy before the actual update .
jje
Ooh a kies registry spoofing. Hmmm will have to look that up tomorrow. Is that hard to do ?
Will i be able to put that firmware on any sgs ?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Hum, my reply make download on PC the OFFICIAL release on Samsung FUS server used by Kies 2.0 and it's a working method NOW. Registry spoofing doesn't work anymore !
Hi, i replied the topic on my phone. now i see the replies that came before the registry 1..
Ty all for helping me. i am gonna try some and let you know the outcome.

Is anyone else sick of having to flash some eclair ROM then flash JP6/JPM over the top???
Why hasnt samfirmware uploaded a full ROM rather than sending us through some convoluted upgrade from an old one?
I would like to put together a full ROM package to flash from odin
* Complete JP6 / JPM ROM
* That does not require flashing any other ROM first
* If possible and/or additionally a z4moded kernel FULL release
So anyone can download and do a proper Odin flash with repartition and jump straight into running a script to convert to ext2/3/4.
After playing with some of these patched kernels and having the occasional complete reflash to do its very annoying that samfirmware doesnt have a full package for JP6 STILL.
Can anyone point me in the direction of some reading material so I can work out how?
Perhaps then we could have a link for a full release JP6 / JPM with / without z4mod built in on the front page...
Reserved for links to full JP6 JPM packages once we have them.
Full JP6 *Thanks to HaTeNL
Works without flashing another firmware before. Flash using these options:
CSC: GT-I9000-CSC-XENJP2.tar
MODEM: MODEM_I9000XXJPM.tar
PDA: I9000XWJP6-REV03-ALL-low-CL618121.tar
Odin 1.0, re-partition off, auto reboot on, reset time on.
Pitfile: s1_odin_20100512.pit
This is the official JP6 that was supposed to be released in the Netherlands:

Thanks for that. Just going to download and test it
Any word on a full release of JPM / JPA?
Would much appreciate someones advice on how to swap the kernel in the PDA file for a z4moded one. Would make it nice and easy for anyone to download a full ROM ready to just kick the RFS nonsense out!

Those roms are already out here..
You know if I can just swap the zImage in the PDA tarball and it should all be fine or are there some signatures or something that I will kill?
Swapping the zImage with 7zip causes the flash to fail at kernel - surprisingly enough.
What am I doing wrong?

After reading the thread on PIT files it seems if you arent ticking the repartition box theres no point using one at all. I flashed without and made no difference. Theres a backup of the existing PIT on the phone and odin dumps that to work out where to put everything.
Has someone testes that does this root forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 work on this firmware.
Hi All.
I recently flashed my SGT and I lost PDA and CSC as I was reverting from problematic JMG ROM back to more Stable JK5 ROM. My phone info shows.
PDA:
Phone P1000XJMF
CSC:
I would like to get PDA and CSC back as Kies doesnt detect any firmware to ask for upgrade.
TIA.
hi,
at this point, the best way is flash the Roto ROM v2 JMI via Odin from development thread.

after reflashing the rom via Odin, after restarting, you should go in recovery mode (keep press the power button and Up volume button). at this moment it will finish the instalation of CSC and PDA. it happened to me in the past, and that was the way to fix. hope it help!
Even if you have PDA, Phone and CSC I dont think you will be able to update via Samsung Kies.
PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. I flashed the jk5 stock firmware. And after recovery it worked. Thank you.
Hi,
I am a newbie but I want to have root privileges on my GB 2.3.3 phone, so I read the instructions on how to flash the stock kernel to the CF root kernel (described in the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108) and gave it a try.
I started with the following official stock firmware and kernel from SFR (French provider), obtained thru Kies by updating from Froyo 2.2.1 to Gingerbread 2.3.3 (Official stock firmware was released 4th of July 2011):
Model number: GT-I9000
Firmware version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9000XXJVO
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVK-CL264237...
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XWJVK
Kies mentioned after the update to 2.3.3: PDA: JVK / PHONE: JVO / CSC: JV4 (SFR)
As the build number, specifies JVK, I selected the CF-root zip: CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v3.1-CWM3RFS.zip
I flashed this CF-root kernel using Odin without re-partition. Odin successfully flashed it, next my device rebooted, after which everything looked normal. But then after half a minute, the screen goes black and devices reboots by itself.
This repeats continuously: after boot, I have the home screen and I can use my device for around half a minute (response is very slow though), then it reboots.
In recovery mode in Clockworkmod, I did ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘wipe cache partition’, both ended successfully. However, the problem of the reboot after about half a minute stays.
In the Tweaks app, I managed to deselect all tweaks (in between a couple of reboots...), but no positive effect: My devices keeps hanging after half a minute and then rebooting.
During every boot, after the boot animation during the glowing S, the phone vibrates once but then proceeds the boot up to the home screen...
1.) Did I select the wrong CF-root kernel zip file?
2.) Can anyone advise my on how to get my phone rooted and working again?
3.) Or is flashing the complete stock firmware the only option?
Many thanks in advance for help.
I will look into that and try to help!
AFAIK CF-root kernels are for Europian roms.
Hi there,
I got a similar syndrom with a BUJVB (french provider SFR).
My config is => SGS GT-I9000 - PDA: BUJVB - PHONE: BUJV3 - CSC: GSFRJV8
I finally rooted the gingerbread by a manual operation from the speedmod kernel (loading superuser and busybox from the speedmod CWM2.5, then resinstalling my original BUJVB kernel)
Anyhow, did you get a clue why some cf-root do not work properly?
What causes the systematic reboot phenomenon?

That CF-Root JVK is for XXJVK, ie. a Gingerbread 2.3.2 build. This build is a number of months old. Use a CF-Root that is built for JVH or JVI.
I recently rooted my gingerbread 2.3.3 ace. Would the same method work for my girlfriends 2.3.3 galaxy s? Thanks in advance.

Just trying again solves the problem. Its more of an odin problem then a cd root problem and if you have to blame cf-root then it is also samsung based Such as odin.
hit thankxx if i helped. sent from my mind through telepathy (ya its possible)!

Do you know how to remove the Italian fixed icons / applications, in the applications menu..
Flashed:
Android 2.3.3 Stock Rom p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjpz - Italian one.
Procedure (ODIN !)
- Download and extract the firmware zip
- Download and extract the attached gt-p1000_mr_PIT.zip
- Download and extract the attached dbdata.zip
- Flash the firmware tar as PDA, repartition enabled, use the attached PIT
- After flash immediately boot into download mode again
- Flash dbdata.tar as PDA (NO repartition)
- After flash immediately boot into recovery mode
- Wipe cache
- Wipe data / factory reset
and add CF-Root v3.3 for JQ1 / Gingerbread
Fixed all probs, also removed the factory default italian apps.
Thnx.

[edit] now been moved to Q&A, thats better
Hope the following makes sense? I have tried nurmerious things through this great forum before posting!
1) Galaxy Samung S GTI9000
2) I put firmware on this last year now I have Galaxy 3 now I want to put stock rom back on galaxy s
3) I tried various stock roms but when I go into KIES it says its a KOR rom instead of UK rom and KIES wont update it
4) I them tried Check Fus Download to check I downloaded the right stock rom and let it download for me. It flashed ok via Odin3
5) If i go into about phone firmware = 2.3.6 baseland = I9000BUJV4, Kernel = 2.6.35.7-I9000BUJVG-CL71281 [email protected]#2. Build = GINGERBREAD.BUJVG
6) When I plug this into KIES it says "you device does not support software upgrading via Kies - Current firmware version: PDA:JVG / PHONE:JV4 / CSCV:JV5 (KOR)
Can some please help were i'm going wrong
And thanks for this forum its awesome!!!
you can flash stock firmware with odin
When I used the downloaded stock rom it flashed it sucessfully? via odin
You got wrong stock ROM.
Go to www.sammobile.com
Over there, select device (I9000), select region Europe, then select a ROM corresponding to UK or Great Britain (in the column country) and download it. Flash via Odin.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
Tried as above used odin and it flashed ok, now when i check about phone it has the following firmware = 2.3.6 - baseline = I900XXJW4 KERNEL= .6.35.7-i9000XXJW4-CL1043937 [email protected]#2 AND BUILD NO:- GINGERBREAD.XXJW4
After it completed sucessfully I wiped the cache and reset the phone all came up ok, but whne i connect it to kies it still says PDA:JW4/PHONE:JW4/CSC:JW5 (KOR) Your device does not support softwareupgrading via Kies - Any help would be apprieciated
Because jw5 is a non official firmware( the laterst release) and there is no official release for sgs.i think the last official release is jvu
You have to flash the right stock ROM that is available in your country.
Download the right ROM for your country and flash it and make sure its not a custom or modded ROM.
Hope this would help.
