[Q] Camera Switches Shot to Portrait

The camera often converts my shot, which is in landscape, to portrait. I've even forced it to landscape mode, but it still switches it to portrait. How do you fix this?

150% sure. Sometimes it converts my landscape shot upside down. To fix it, I have to use the camera upside down. When it converts my landscape shot to portrait, I'll try shooting in portrait mode, but it keeps my picture in portrait. It's completely screwed-up.

I have used many jb roms but still have an issue when I go to browser the screen dulls away down..is there anyway to sort this in a setting that i've overlooked or is it a feature or bug in j.b itself..?

Simple setting.
Open the browser and click the menu touch button and go to brightness. now disable the auto brightness option.

Thanks for reply but why do I need to disable auto brightness I never had to in gingerbread or ICS...its not a big issue just wondering why it does this..

In ICS as well browser and video player has its on brightness settings.. So disable individual auto brightness to make it dim and light up as the other screens
My stock ics has its own video and browser brightness and its auto brightness. So even when i am on auto disabled mode like in the dark room. Its sometimes annoying.

Camera controls orientation?

Is it just me or my camera controls are always horizontal no matter the phone's orientation? I have to either focus somewhere or flip the phone to make it right.

The camera App has always started in the landscape position since I can remember back to the OG Evo no matter if the phone is held in portrait or not...If you ever take a photo in portrait that ends up in landscape you can simply rotate the photo in edit mode right from the gallery app
I have noticed this but if you hold in portrait mode and tap the screen to focus, it will kick it in portrait mode. The LTEVO was like that also.

Vivid Landscape mode?

I have a Vivid running CM11 (Jan 15th build). I can't get Launcher to stay in landscape mode. When I put the Vivid into the HTC dock, it automatically goes into Landscape mode, but I can't for the life of me find a setting to get it to do that without the dock. Any ideas?

This is the albinoman887 CM11 unofficial from Jan15th. He's using launcher3. It apparently does support landscape, as it will go to landscape mode when in the HTC Dock.
I did find an app that will force it to landscape mode when charging. Which, since this is for a car, will work fine. I was really hoping to make it rotation-based - like a mini tablet. My Nexus 7 with CM11 supports landscape mode based only on rotation, so I don't see why a phone couldn't. Though it clearly isn't built into the phone as standard...

I'm running the CM11 from March 13 and having no problem at all with landscape/portrait. I am using a different launcher (Solo) that I like a lot better. You might want to give it a try, since it is free on Play Store.
