Hi,
I guess this might be a common problem faced by a lot of people. Syncing with HTC sense and locating phone on map and other features.
This is not my solution but read it somewhere on some forum. So the credits to that user.
Didn't find any info on this issue here so posting, If useless, i request the mods to delete it.
1. Delete the HTC Sense account from your Phone and delete the HTCsense.com account by going to the website.
2. Now register a new account on the website. Follow the instructions and verify your email. Now you'll be at the screen which says login through the phone.
3. Now go to HTC Hub and it will ask you to sign-in or create a new account. Select sign-in and sign in with the id you registered on the website.
4. It will ask for a few confirmations, click on Yes.
5. Now website on PC will move forward to take you to the dashboard and display the message that Initial sync is being performed. Let it complete.
6. Once sync is complete you can see your phone on the map. (You might need to refresh it).
Screenshots attached.

The initial sync takes ages, never finish. How long did it take on your initial sync.
It does take a long time. Mine took about >30 mins. Just wait a while and then try refreshi.g the sense site on pc.
I set mine up more than a month ago. Logged in today and it's still performing the initial sync. I'm gone try it again.

You can try it again. Even i had set it up a month ago but that didn't work out. I tried it again by above method and it worked.

Probably WIFI cannot be used for sync. Try turn 3G data connection on.
I don't have a lot contacts in my phone, But it did take a really long time. Even worse, after the initial sync, I can only use the phone finder feature from htcsense.com. There is no way I can browse my contact list and manage sms on htcsense.com. It sucks. I assume IS is not well supported on htcsense.com

Is there something wrong with my set up or is anyone else experiencing email coming upto 15minutes after the sent time, I thought gmail push was ment to be almost instant as it's pushed out to you.
Anything I can check?
I'm on stock 2.2 btw. thanks
Try restart the phone
i have this problem too lol
no idea how to fix at this point, tried everything
Yep, sadly I've always had the same issue as well (I'm on T-Mobile in the U.S).
I've given up on the Gmail push, the app is so ugly anyway. The mobile gmail website looks soo much better, I just put a shortcut to it on my main homescreen and it's just a tap away to check whenever I need to.
Are you logged into Google talk? I believe that the pushes happen through that. That was back in 1.6 when I found that out though and maybe it has changed since.

The push should definitely work even if you're not logged into Google Talk, at least it has always done that for me on 2.1 on my old N1 (no longer have it).

i did not go with passimg but i was able to sign in yesterday. something is wrong with the Google servers.they gave me a code to check in and it failed...

Can't seem to find an answer to this. I had to get a replacement DHD (1st one had a very loose camera) and really wanted to have a fresh start with the new phone - no apps, etc. Since I had the backup thing checked on the 1st phone, the 2nd phone reloaded all the apps from the 1st phone. I've tried the various resets (with backup turned off), but nothing gets me back to a blank, clean phone.
Keep in mind that I'm not talking about the Contacts or Gmail being pulled in (that's fine) - I just don't want the apps & settings from the 1st phone. Uninstalling the apps doesn't quite get me to a clean install. Anyone know of a way to delete/turn off that backup that's sitting in the Google cloud?
What are you running? 2.1 or 2.2

The stock 2.2 rom from DHD
I've had the same problem, and as far I know there is no way to do it. There is a simple workaround, but you will have to disable backup all together:
1. Reset your device,
2. When first time setup will come on, set up your DHD BUT dont enter Gmail settings (for now).
3. Once done go into 'Settings', then 'Privacy' and UNCHECK box next to 'Back up my settings' and 'Automatic restore'.
4. Once done, set up your Gmail account (either manually or starting 'Setup' from All apps).
This seems to be the only way for now, and to be honest I'm quite shocked there is no easy way to manage backups from a pc/phone.
PS: I hope there is a better way - if somebody know one, then please share it with us.
You could also just sign in with a new google account.

You could, but most of us would like to keep the "old" one (for obvious reasons).
There are 2 ways to do it. The reason why it reload all the apps is becoz Ur gmail ID stores Ur download list for the market.
1. When u hard rest don't sign in to gmail. Let the setup finish. Once that's done open market place, it will ask u to sign in. As soon as u complete the sign in go to downloads. There u will c ur apps installed list, which will start to download automaticly. Click on each one and cancel the installation. There, ur list is clean now. U don't really need to do a hard rest after this but should do just Incase.
2. Goto market then to downloads and uninstall every thing and hard rest and ur back to a clean phone.
as I had the same issue, The first method worked for me.

Same thing has been bugging me as well!!
i've posted a question on googles help forum,
See if that get any suggestions...
any real answer to this yet or is there some type of pc/phone management for this??
It should ask for restoring from Google account while setting up the phone.
Just after the location server setting, I think.
Then just uncheck it.

How to get htcsense.com working on your device.
First, sign up to htcsense.com. Use Desire HD as your device. Go through the process until it says sign in with your phone. I had to do this via a PC.
Flash this package:
http://www.mediafire.com/?v6738zc4owqptt8
Go to settings, accounts and sync and choose to add an account. Choose htc sense.
Log in with correct credentials and info.
Thats it!
Things that work:
Text forwarding
GPS location
Remote ring
Remote lock
Things that do not yet work:
Remote wipe
forward calls

Well done, thanks!
What does the package do in order to make it work. And why do we have to do this, I thought this was a feature that should be working without jumping through hoops.

Easily answered:
Unzip the package.
As for the feature, give it a shot. You will find it missing.
This is my first HTC Android device - what is htcsense.com? Also, do I use cwm to flash this to the phone?
Edit: NM - got it installed and working - thanks OP!
Thanks alot man. Been looking forward to this. Seems it should have been released with it working out of the box....sad that you even HAD to fix it...
Wow! Only locations app/widget to be resolved now to get full functionality.
didn't see in your does and does not work list, but does this work for HTC Hub for wallpapers, scenes and themes? I clicked "Get More" and it just sits and a screen with a spinner.
Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with this. Downloaded and flashed it a more than once. The app shows up under system/app checked via root explorer, but its not in my app list and when I try to click on the MyHTC.apk, it says installation not complete. Any suggestions?

Same here
I get no Hub icon widget, but when i go to add more skins etc. I get the 'get more' option which then connects me to htc hub to download. Sad thing that it just sits on loading and nothing ever appears
That was an inadvertent feature/side effect.
Scenes and skins are no bueno, but sound packs , ringtones, notifications, and widgets work.
Will the features be added

This isn't the Desire Z.
Follow the directions or it will not work.
Also, unlike the Desire Z, which has separate apps for each hub function, ours are integrated.
Got it working and I'm signed in. It was just throwing me off that there was no app in the app drawer. Thanks for letting ne know not to look for it.

Ok, had to flash it a couple of times before it would show up in accounts. Good to go now, thanks!
if you have a mac and need to sync
just use double twist
doubletwist.com
works great
I've tried looking this up and have found no answer so i'm going to post it up on here to see if anyone can help me out.
Just like everyone else was having problems with the latest ATnT update messing up their phone so did I it caused my phone to get stuck in a boot loop and i couldnt find a way to getting out of it so i re-locked the bootloader and ran the RUU on it to return it to the stock kernel and rom.
After doing this i rooted the phone once again and switched back to the custom roms and the same kernel i had before, as soon as i did the update showed up again and i postponed it and went into titanium back up and deleted "com.smithmicro.dm" from there and that stopped the update.(i had seen it in a forum or how to get rid of the update) but now im not receiving notifications from facebook, twitter, or gmail. i have to go into the app myself and refresh it. somehow the Accounts and sync in the settings arent working for me. In the status bar it says its syncing and its shows the circle form by two arrows but it stays on there and never goes away. ive rebooted the phone many times, tunred the sync on and off, and even made sure in every app that the notifications are on.
Does anyone know what might be wrong?
Theres still no syncing going on, its like the push notifications are just not working on my phone at all.
Ive even switched roms a couple of times and i dont get anything from either facebook or twitter.
i think the gmail work periodicly.
Could it be an issues with the kernel?
Something similar happened to me too with the Calendar sync just the other day. I had to go into Settings -> Apps -> All and go to Calendar Storage, force stop, clear data.
Try doing this for all the services that you sync (fb, twitter, gmail, etc). Stop them, clear the data, then reboot. Once your phone boots up, go into Settings -> Account & Sync and force a re-sync. Hopefully you'll be back up and running.
I actually got them to work again randomly, well actually I installed a new Rom again buy instead of restoring everything from titanium backup I just decided to do it myself and it worked.
I wonder if the sync backup was corrupted or something?

It's possible, but I'd still put my money on the sync data cache being bunkered up. Glad it's working for you again though!
