I mean the software (PC apps) that i can use it to edit a rom and to finilized in update (zip) format.
Actually, I try to use cygwin_packages and Android Kitchen_dsixda. I know this is the easier apps that can be used to edit (****) the ROMs. But, the cygwin not work in windows 7 ultimate sp1.
So, do you have solution for the cygwin application to work in windows 7 or there s another apps?

[Help] How to update Windows Mobile build?

I've been following the Enhanced Notification thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=491676
According to the thread, it requires a build (I assume they are referring to the Windows Mobile Build) of 21000+ to work. So my question is, how do I install a newer build of Windows Mobile 6.1. I currently have build 19965.
Does it come in a .cab file? If I install the new build do I lose everything on my diamond? Like TF3D and all my installed programs?
Thanks for your help.
You need to flash a ROM that is based on a 21000+ build
oh okay so there's no other way to just upgrade the Windows Mobile 6.1 build. The only way is to flash a new ROM with the new build.
Thanks.
And how to integrate a newer build into custom rom?

There is way to install andriod without WM rom ?

Hi,
I would like to know if there is way to install just android without install Windows Mobile rom ?
I mean that the Android boot without using WM ...
At the moment no, I think we lack a bootloader to start booting the rom, also Android is not yet stable enough to use as a stand-alone OS for our phones, I'm certain it will all come together in time, much as the Familiar Linux Project did on the Ipaq series of PDA's.
Until then we have the best compromise, useable android, with the comfort of having WM still available for when we really need it.
Moved as not ROM Development....
take a look at

Hi salmanrkr,
If it's speed, stability & battery backup is what you are looking for...then stick on to your stock ROM..believe me it's the best...
Also, you need not have to flash your ROM to run an Android in your X1....You can boot Android from within the Windows Mobile by having the Android OS files in your SD card...Basically there are 2 different types of Androids..one which require an ext2 partition(which is more faster) & one which doesn't need any partition(which is easier to run)
It seems that you are a fresher...so better try the second type..the one which doesn't need any partition...I recommend for you the F1Froyo 2.2.1 .Visit the following thread for the description and download link...(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844033)
Do keep in mind that Android for X1 is still under development..so don't hope for a bug free and stable android for X1..
And if you really want to Flash a new ROM for X1, you can try the 826x series ROM...or the Energy ROM..both are Windows 6.5 Build with slight difference in Interface..Both have Sense, a cool interface seen in HTC Devices...visit the following threads for the description & download link..
for 826x series ROM-(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734175)
for Energy ROM -(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562935)
Note : You can have your Custom ROM + Android in your X1....Also plz do keep a backup of your Stock ROM before flashing your device with a Custom ROM..
Hope this helps...
Thanx alot!
But which files to be downloaded? its lil mixed up!

I have tried both the builds...and from my experience i found the second one i.e. F1 Froyo .2.2.1 more faster & Stable.
So my recommendation for you is the F1 Froyo 2.2.1..
Here is the direct link to F1 Blog, where you can download the original file : http://f1series.blogspot.com/2011/01/f1-froyo-221.html
Thnx & Regards...
Thanx again and sorry to reply so late coz something came in middle So hope to start this conversation again Sir!

[Q] Stock Android

Hi guys,
I am really interested in figuring out the steps that should be followed in order to compile a stock android rom for i9000.
I find the phone amazing but really hate touchwiz and all samsung's applications.
Thanks in advance
compile a stock android rom for i9000.
Stock as in stock rom supplied by Samsung or do you mean a Custom Rom .
Custom roms are in the development section as are the guys that build them .

I meant vanilla android, i am aware of resources where you can find stock samsung compilations (namely samfirmware -sorry but as a new user i cannot post links- although there's also an updated list in a thread somewhere in xda forums) and i also follow some of the custom made roms (currently i'm using Darky's v9.3).
I would like to get to know how to get my custom rom compiled and packged so i9000 can load it, the reason: i really dislike samsungs additions to android (touchwiz) and i haven't found a custom rom similar to what i am seeking.
For the first steps i suppose i should grab the code from aosp but i just don't know if i need some drivers (i suspect i do), and if so... where can i get these?
Then... once all that stuff is compiled, what are the steps that should be followed to make the compiled image flasheable?
Thanks.
I really thought that the custom ROMS in the dev section could be built as custom as you like via the kitchen. First take the bare Android 2.2.1 JPY/JS5 system and add the Gingerbread launcher as well as the market then off you go. Can't get anymore vanilla than that ?

make own custom rom galaxy note

how can we make a custom rom on the easy way i dont mean from clockworkmod but trough the kitchen and is it good to use a linux version as OS on the computer

There is no easy way to a Custom Rom because you add customized mods or tweaks - that's always manual work and you need to learn for it.
If you use the kitchen (working for the N7000 since december - search for it) it'll give you a base: deodexed, zipaligned, etc.
Everything else is hard work - and risky if you do not know what you do to your device.
For the kitchen or other things you can use CygWin in Windows - but you always will have the performance impact and I would only call it a workaround.
If you want to really develop or build own Roms a Linux OS is the best environment to do it - but the question is: are you experienced with the "command-line-world". No Klicki-Bunti there.
