Since upgrading to 1.2 I have noticed that the annoying connection failure when waking up the unit is gone. I rooted at the same time so it may be due to that, but I am happy to not have to re-establish a connection after letting the NC sit.
Have others noticed this change?

I have found the same. It has been flawless since the 1.2 upgrade. Really happy to not have to toggle the wifi all the time.

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. Every once in awhile my cappy reboots straight to the boot ani. Wondering if it isn't the kernel. Still I love this rom anyone else having the same issue?

It's the kernel I've seen people post about reboots
What you are experiencing is called a "hot reboot" the phone itself doesn't reboot just the os.
+1
I'm having issues all over the place - hot reboot is one of about 5 or 6 I've noticed on the last couple of days. Just flashed v5 from v2.3 and I'll be going back ASAP.
Thanks studacris. I thought maybe I did something wrong. No way im going back though. Gb on the cappy is great. Again thanks to all.

I had the same issue before. I wiped user data and rebooted. That seemed to fix the issue. I figure when in doubt...clear and reboot.

What other problems are you having? I'm running Beta 3 as well (I missed when they put up the download link for RC1, now I have to wait until they fix whatever problems there are with it.) and I'm not having any issues whatsoever. Battery life is great as well, which was my only real gripe with CM7.
I was on RC3 and now 5.1, and I haven't had any such problems. I was running another ROM (not Continuum, which I will not name) before, which suffered from terrible sleep death. About every other day, it would not wake up from sleep at all. I had to pull the battery to get it to work again. I have had NO such problems with Continuum at all.
Oops. Posted too soon. Continuum 5.1 was extremely laggy. Tap something and the screen blanks out before the app comes up. That's bad lag. Also, it completely crashed on me about 4 times in a couple of hours.
I just flashed 5.2, and it seems to be better. However, icezar1 says the problem was with TW4, but I'm using Launcher Pro. I hope these problems don't persist.
Well, 5.2 was almost as bad as 5.1. I installed the previous version of the kernel (Talon 0.1.4) and all was well. Some kind of high memory freeing something or other. Then today Cezar released 5.3 which is even better. This is a great ROM.

Having weird problems. I have frequent drops with my wifi (WPA). No exactly where the problem lies. Also tried Netflix out and it was playing like double time. It was weird. Suggestions?

Solved, it was my router. Had to take N out of the mix.
You're using an old version. I suggest upgrading soon. That's just me.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
Thanks, I'll do that. I'm not so sure I got wifi issue solved either. It was working good for a while and now I'm gettting about the same. You think a newer ROM would have any effect?
Possibly. Some of the nightlies have really fixed problems, results vary though.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
Hi everyone
I've started to notice videos freezing or heavily stuttering on high quality
I have tested this on both WiFi and 3G with excellent signal for both.
Low quality works perfect however
Any ideas what can be causing this?

Standard Videos are also not working on the device
Two error messages stating video cannot be played.

Once I flashed CM7, videos on youtube stop half way through and I get the error "Touch to retry". Sometimes it loses connection with the router. I know for sure that it isn't an issue with the router since I'm close to it. Any solution?
Possibly still could be the router
Do you have any problems on other devices?
I had major connection drops on my old netgear

I'm digging in to this also. The Android OS process(?) wasn't on top of the list, now it is for 3-4 hours a day. Try to find what causes it. Fortunately the battery life isn't affected by much.

I'm getting this also.
I've done some digging around and found out that the Kernel has some long wake locks.
Namely :
bam_dmux_wakelock
msm_serial_hs_dma
msm_serial_hs_rx
I've never had these wakelocks before and they are popping up out of nowhere. My phone's battery was great when I first got the phone, but now its not as good anymore due to the phone not deep sleeping as much.

For those that are curious, install betterbatterystats from the playstore and you can see what is causing your phone to not go to deepsleep.
Same here, I already did a full wipe still happening, and I feel its affecting my battery. Going to give this a couple of days doing some different tests to see if I can nail out the issue.

Still don't know what causes it. The problem started right around when I configured lookout, so I uninstalled. I also disabled locations on any possible app but still no go.
Then got pissed, reinstalled lookout, enable location and stuff, pretty much everything stock, now the problem went away. No more android os on top, battery life is back. Don't know what to think of it, I'd like to know what exactly caused it.

Same problem here too, after removing some apps android os is always right under screen time for me.

having the same issue....
Didn't plug phone in over night (was at 100% when I went to sleep), woke up with it at 70%. That's a HUGE drain from Android OS.
Weird thing. I've played with the wifi settings, switched from dhcp to static ip and it disabled the connection due to slow conn mesage that appeared, although I was right next to the router. Anyways, I reverted back to automatic dhcp then just a thought to go back to processes and this is what I've found: android os for over 15 hours although i plugged the phone from charger about 5 hours ago...

Try removing the Samsung WatchOn app and disabling/deleting/freeze the system apk for it. I believe it's called "peel.apk"
It randomly goes crazy for me too. I just disabled the watch on app and the browser bar. Hopefully this helps as it constantly runs eating memory when I don't even use it
Android OS battery drain!
Hey Y'all,
So I've been having some really bad battery drain issues involving Android OS on my new Note 3. I've been looking around for days trying to find the culprit and stumbled upon this:
(SORRY, it's not letting me post the link I don't have enough posts so I'll change HTTP for hteeteep, mods I apologize but I can't easily summarize the processes and explanations offered on this page.)
hteeteep://gs3.wonderhowto.com/how-to/reduce-battery-drain-your-samsung-galaxy-s3-by-fixing-android-system-usage-0142361/
It has to do with gsiff_daemon a non-utilized but highly active GPS sensor daemon. I followed the instructions posted there and renamed the file. After that Android OS went back to normal % of CPU usage. When you look at CPU usage under developer option you can see that gsiff_daemon is constantly using resources. Since I disabled it my battery life has improved dramatically and I have yet to notice any "side effects". The phone works perfectly and all other apps are working properly. I think between this fix and staying away from "Enable location over Wi-Fi " should help most people with battery drain issues. I hope this helps!
I noticed the same issue since Sunday. Android OS is always under screen. I'm rooted and have freezed Knox related items in TiBU.

Just wondering for those with note 3 if your phone battery isn't lasting as good as before. Seems with the gear connected all the time now my battery is dropping quite a bit.

Yup got the same issue. It doesn't go into deep sleep whilst connected. I assumed that was the bt drain and Would be normal?
Also it drains quicker if I enable bt tethering.

Thanks for the reply. I've just installed Better battery stats and Wake lock detector to see if it's the gear that's causing it.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I had this issue recently and a wakelock detector found google drive to be the culprit. ? i dont even use it wtf google...(point is, nothing to do with gear)
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I'm curious to hear your finding. I'm also noticing a spike presumably since purchasing my gear.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
I purchased Note and the Gear at the same time and had no battery drain at first.
It begun when I started to test the Bluetooth tether. My findings so far:
1. BT Tether active on both devices and connected to each other - battery drain massive on both devices (pretty obvius)
2. BT Tether active on both devices and connected upon Screen on at Gear (Using Tasker) - Battery good at Gear, Note don´t go to deep sleep.
3. BT Tether deactivated on Note and Gear still using same Task (try to connect upon Screen on) - Battery good at Gear, Note don´t go to deep sleep.
4. BT Tether deactivated on Note and Tasker deactivated on Gear - Battery good on both devices = Back to square one...
Have done nr 4 for about a week now and now problems with battery.
Soo... At my place it´s the BT Tether thats the battery-thief...
My note 3 hasn't been affected by the gear, in fact it's even better now that I'm not pulling the phone out every 5 mins to check notifications. That said, anything involving tethering is going to use significantly more power than the stock watch b/c there's much more data being transferred
I'm not tethering. Still stock. So far I've found Facebook to be the culprit based on wake lock. I deleted it today and we'll see how it goes.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
From previous experience. Facebook can be a big battery thief.
Great post regarding BT tethering being the issue. I concur.
I checked today and with bt on but not tethering my n3 did go into deep sleep.

Never had the issue till I got the gear so I never suspected Facebook. Maybe the last fb update did it. I don't have fb notification enabled either but it was still racking up wake triggers. I had over 1000 triggers while the other apps were very minimal. So far battery seems to be draining normally now. Thanks for the reply guys.
