You should have posted this in General Forum, not here.
Anyway, what do you mean by modify? If you are referring to the notification bar widgets and like, its no easy task my friend. Involves a lot of work.
y u don't use one of the custom mods, i use CM6 myself and it is imo the most stable rom out there,
if u just want to tweak ur stock rom i would recommend staying at 2.1. and tweak it a little with an OR, replacing and removing apps, overclocking etc.
afaik it does a little better wit multitasking, i would use it myself if it wouldn't miss so much features from CM...
hehehe a CM5 for milestone would be funny lol
if u are just looking for a guide
-factory reset
-flash 2.2.1 GOT release
-run OpenRecovery
-install CM update
-wipe cache and dalvik

[Q] How to switch from a rom using cm6 to cm7?

Hi all, I recently took the plunge into the world of custom roms and its awesome, so much better then stock
I have flashed my x8 with the Froyo 2.2.1/Cyanogenmod 6.1.3 rom by ponanovn and he has just released a new rom Gingerbread 2.3.5/Cyanogenmod 7.1-Pre using cm7, When I first installed the orginal Froyo 2.2.1 I used x recovery and simply renamed the file to update.zip and simply flashed it and it worked however on his page he doesnt say rename the file to "update, zip" anymore and he says make a back up in "cwm recovery" instead of xrecovery is it neccesary to use cwm recovery with cm7? im just a bit confused if anyone could help me I would be gratefull Thanks
Too complicated! Download and install GingerDX instead. It's a FULLY working Gingerbread 2.3.5!

Thanks I was having a look at it before and it seemed pretty good, might just make the change to GingerDX, are you using it? if so are there any bugs etc? cheers
Yes, I'm using v005. SO SMOOTH!!! And 3MP camera!! I have no bugs at all. If you have bugs, make a full wipe.
I can recommend GingerDX as well, it is updated on a regular basis, and doixanh is one of the best ROM developers for X8 currently, he just seems to be able to pull things off that noone expected, like the 3mp camera fix for instance!
I agree, GingerDX is the most complete 2.3 Rom. There is updates nearly every day and each update will preserve your data, no major bugs and if there is DX will sort it.
Thanks for the help
I would suggest GingerDX.
But you can try to use multiboot if you have a class 6 or more sd card instead of changing a ROM.

[Q] Need inTouch widget from OB GingerBread 20N Stock ROM

hi,
Finally I could update my LG OB to official Gingerbread Indian Stock ROM, V20B.
Previously I had flashed my OB with V20N, german stock ROM.
One thing I have noticed something unique(apart from V20N) is the "smiley" button in the keyboard while in MESSAGE editing, Which is really cool/easy/helpful.
Have attached the screenshot of the same.
Now, the thing that this(V20B) stock ROM is missing is the inTouch widget ! I just would be really thankful if someone who is using V20N, actually could rip that widget from there and post it here. Or which ever way that helps me get that widget on V20B.
Thank You,
Gameme
90 views and no one knows how to get it out of 20N ? !
no need to ask, there's already a package with all LG widget of 20N

But how do you expect to install it without root ??

What is the best stock based rom?

Hello guys, ive been switching to a couple of roms, most cyanogenmod based rom, and now i want to try stock based rom, ive used modaco gr6, and i like the stock look of the launcher and lockscreen, but the amount of free ram is so low, bcoz all the lg apps, car home and fsecure is there, is there any rom that has the stock look but with cyanogenmod like performance?
You can always "bake" a rom based on the stock rom. It allows you to remove any unwanted application you feel you don't need!
i dont really no how to "bake" a rom, do u guys recommend civato-FLEXBOMB-R3 and B2B, also what kernel goes well with this rom?

Hi,
get MCR v6 STOCK / VANILLA edition.
then get any freezing app from the market and freeze all the apps u don't want.
titanium backup free can do it for you or mybackup pro
just freeze what you think is useless for you; and then flash a MCR kernel over it.
there are many here in the thread.
you could try the gueste2x goodbye rom 1.1
it has some kernel options and seems stable on my phone
Hi, i've tried a few roms and for me you can't go wrong with :

(Q) Hidden Menu on CM10.1 (tonyp) ?

Hi guys
I just have one question: Is there any way to access the hidden menu of the optimus 2x on tonyp's CM10.1 ROM? (or any other CM10.1 rom)
I used that menu on ICS using the activities shortcut, but now i can't do it
By the way, i'm using the korean version of the Optimus 2x (the SU660) but i'm on the new bootloader with complete P990 software (and kowalski kernel for the SU660 to use the Physical home button)
Thanks in advance, guys! (and sorry for my english )
bye!
Hidden menu is only available in Stock/Stock based ROM's and not in Custom ROM's like CM
