[Q] Anyone able to post the Metal.apk skin? - HTC Incredible S

I have the Incredible 2 but they didn't include the default Metal skin found on the S and the Thunderbolt. Very odd omission.
Is anyone able to pull this skin file and post it for me to download to the Inc 2? I would love to have that skin (the default metal)!
Thanks in advance!
And as an FYI, I've been to the link below to install some custom skins, but I don't really like any of them.

I browsed the link, and clicked on sense 2.1 skin thread:

I tried installing the Metal.apk from that post, but the App Manager was not able to open the apk properly. What's causing this?

Try using astro. Ive installed all skins via astro with no issues to report
Sent from my ADR6350 using XDA Premium App

Try finding it under 'skins-->more HTC skins' on the phone? Not sure about the I2 but all the sense skins appear there for the IS
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App

I did try opening it through Astro. Astro also didn't recognize it as a valid apk for some reason.
The reason why I'm looking for it is because the I2 for some reason omitted the Metal skin. I also can't find a "more skins" option under "skins"

Hi all. I'm rocking Froyd like a lot of you, but I prefer the default theme on the HTC keyboard. Can anyone tell me where I might get the original theme or apk to replace it with?

[Theme] *Testers Needed* Flat Black for CM MDPI device

I'm trying to get a simple port of my flat theme working on MDPI devices running CM6.1.0 RC1. It is just the notification bar and icons, no animations, lockscreen or ability to change the lockscreen background.
If anyone is interested in testing, please head over to this page and grab the files.

Thanks for having a look, I'll re-up it when I get the chance. Are you using the CyanogenMod 6.1.0 RC1 ROM? This is the ROM I've built the framework on.
Also the zips are not signed so you need to flash without checking for verification.

PS. I can make I you a set of blue icons if you like. What is the hex code for your text settings?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks, that would be very cool. I have been trying to get a set of blue icons using UOT kitchen. But I've not been overly keen on the results.
The hex code is 1B70E0
I really like some of your over work, in particular the scrolling wallpaper and dock you have done for hdpi devices. Any chance of seeing this for mdpi?

Try this.
As for the scrolling wallpaper its just a bit of maths;
Your screen is 320x480 therefore you wallpaper will be 640x480.
If you set 6 home-screens then it will scroll by 320/5 = 64 pixels.
Make a background that is 640x480 and put a stripe every 64 pixels. 6 home-screens should then scroll the width of each stripe.
Alright..too much procrastination for me today...
Hope you enjoy, If you like it can you post a screeny? Can I use your screens on my blog?

I've signed the zip and it flashed OK, if it's OK with ClassicalGas I'll upload it for those of us still on AmonRa's recovery.
The theme is looking good, not noticed any problems so far, I will go through and test as much as I can and report back

Is it the zip or the apk which needs signing?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You just need to sign the zip. I have added a zip for AutoSign, very simple to use just rename the target zip 'update.zip', extract the autosign.zip into a folder and put the target zip in it as well and run the exe. I have also added the update zip for the Ubuntu fonts if anyone wants them.
Just out of curiosity, are you planning on porting the other parts of the theme (lock-screen, dialogue boxes e.t.c) or is this purely a notification bar port? Either way, great for the MDPI devices to get some love!

I still can't get it to sign for some reason, I have heard there could be issues with Windows 7 and signing. Do you mind if I send new Hero stuff to you to sign?
I am wanting to port everything over eventually, but it will take a bit of time and it depends on the interest received from the MDPI users here.

I'll definitely give this a whirl when 6.1 goes stable (RC1 was a mess for me, dunno why). Figures, your theme is about exactly what I had wanted back in September while I was doing the WinPhone7 theme-y thing x]

Only download the .apk files, they can be installed even if you aren't rooted. Just install the apk and then go to personalize then skins and select your download

I take no credit for this, nor responsibility. All skins came from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 I simply packaged them up nice and tidy.
I made a windows .bat file to use adb to install all the ones I was able to find from that thread
unzip this file, connect your phone via USB and double click InstallSkins.bat

I don't think they will change just by changing the skin. That requires editing the framework-res.apk as far as I know.
The only problem I am having with these is there seems to be a bug when in the car dock which puts the screen in Landscape mode. If I choose a custom skin from one of the Desire's it works until the car dock puts it in landscape then it either reverts to a stock htc skin or it puts a random custom skin on until you rotate the phone to portrait mode. Can this be fixed by someone? I really like these but they don't work very well in the dock.
Edit: I thought it used a random Custom skin once but it turns out it was a stock hTC so yea none of thses skins work in Landscape with the car dock.

Check out Gadget's skins, they support landscape, I believe the current ones linked do not.
Thanks, I did download one of his. I like all of his but there is one out of these on this post I'm partial to. I asked gadget in an off cuff way if he could fix one. I'm currently going with the Uber Green one. If people don't have a car dock then they wont know there is anything wrong. It only affects those that do use the car dock.

Custom Dialer, notification bar, and keyboard?

Just wondering is it possible to use custom notification bars, dialers, and keyboard themes without flashing a new rom? I found some notification bars and dialers Id like to use from the Magnolia rom yet keep my HTC Sense. I dont use any launchers or anything. I prefer HTC Sense over the others.
I am rooted and I do run the HeyItsLou Kernel v8
You can use metamorph or ninjamorph, free from the market, to apply the images.
Or you can create an update zip containing the apk's and flash them in recovery.
I tried Metamorph, but nothing happened.
If you are running a deodexed 2.2 or 2.3 ROM you can use the Kitchen.

Im running the stock HTC rom with the HeyItsLou v8 Kernel.

Somewhere in there I found some cool skins for HTC SENSE. This will only change a few things though. Not dialer and keyboards.
But themed Keys are easy to find. I'm sure you know all this, but I'm just trying to participate.

Do you have HTC HUB? And is it HTC SENSE 2.0?
I haven't had any problems installing them, but I'll try to help as much a possible.
Install just like a normal THIRD PARTY .APK

Not familiar with HTC Hub. Not even sure what version of HTC Sense I have. I dont know how to check for versions.
Me either (dont know how to check sense version.)
But there are some signs. When you press personalize, does a path drawer come up and have Skins, Wallpaper, Scenes, Widgets, Apps, Shortcuts, Folders, etc..?
If it just has the last four mentioned when you tap and hold your home screen, then you don't have HTC SENSE 2.0
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
When I hit personalize I get scenes, home wallpaper, and default ring tone. Im almost positive I have Sense v1.
So how can I get these things to work with Metamorph? I have all the files downloaded and ready to go.
I'm not sure, because I never needed or wanted to use MetaMORPH.
Can you post a screenie of your Home and Personalize menu?
And what phone do you have? I'm sure you just unpack the zip in MetaMORPH.
I don't know much about it.

I have the HTC Incredible through Verizon.
Okay. So now we know your stock ROM was Sense 1.0, what Sense Rom do you have now?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Oh, and a really nice ROM for DInc w/ Sense 2.0 is Myns Warm Z twopointtwo. You can change the skins to the ones you have downloaded.
By far my Favorite ROM for DInc when I had mine two days ago. Lol.

The stock HTC sense rom. I havent flashed any custom roms. I like the default one from HTC. I just want to change some minor things. I have a dialer picked out. I want to get rid of the verizon branding in my notification bar, and I want to change the battery icon and thats it.
Okay then you have to use metamorph. I'm pretty sure there's a tutorial somewhere around here. On the Myns Warm thread, there's a video tutorial on using MetaMORPH to change keyboards. I'm positive it works the same for battery and dialer.

[Skin] Sense 3.6 Flat Black & Gray

This is a new skin I just finished.... Flat Black & Gray !!!!
This will work with all roms running Sense 3.6....
Sense 3.6 Flat Black & Gray Skin
I realise I'm probably being dense here... But how do I install this?
I've downloaded the apk to my SD card, then installed it using a file manager, when I go to the 'Personalize' menu, I select 'Display' then 'Skin' but I can't see the Black_Grey skin there?
I've looked under 'Scene' but can't see it there either.
I've tried turning the 'phone off and on again, but still can't see it.
Do I need a third party theme manager? Do I need to have rooted my 'phone? I'm running the original, unrooted, unmolested ICS release.
The theme looks very good by the way!
Sorry. I know I'm probably asking very silly questions and I apologise in advance...

I am not sure, I have heard this from a couple of people... I have also heard a few things it could possibly be, wrong screen resolution, or wrong version code??? I don't know, I have an evo 3D so I can't test it on any other phone, but in most cases it should work on a phone with sense 3.6 sorry again you could not get it to work. Anyone else having the issue of the skin not showing?
