Hi Guys,
I updated my SGS 1 from Froyo to Gingerbread 2.3.2 with Odin. So far so good but when I look into my apps they don't reappear on my phone. If I go into my market account on the web they are still there, as they supposed to be (cloud)
But when I signed into my google account/market on my phone the apps don't appear and I understood they should !
Can anyone please give some advice?
Thanks.
I think odin automatically wipes all user data. If you have purchased the apps then you can easily reinstall them from 'my apps' in android market.

I know Odin wipes but my apps which I can see on the online Android Market under my account should turn up on my phone or not?
Only if you download them .
Gingerbread is Beta .

Ok so that can be the reason that the apps don't show up on my phone. The other strange thing is that my apps on the online Android Market are gone now as well. When I logged in yesterday the list was correct but now it looks corrupted, my apps are gone and I see apps I didn't downloaded. No idea how to solve that?
Apps Android market you logged in and registered phone with product code xxxx .
You have now changed the product code so the market has no apps for you as its an unknown phone not the one you registered with .Re download each item .

I have the same problem, atleast I think.
When I download apps form the android marked and install them on my phone everything works perfect, but if I reboot my phone/ turn it off etc, I loose all my installed apps, then Im just left with the ones that came with the phone.
This happens everytime I turn it off, or if my phone runs out of battery and dies. Shouldnt be like this, enyone know why or what could be causing this problem?

1) You have posted in the wrong forum.
2) Market works fine in 2.2 unless you flashed one of the pre-release builds.
The sticky at the top of the N1 gen forum tells you in bold NOT TO ASK QUESTIONS.

I'm having the same, or very similar problems. Basically, I'm seeing paid apps, and my purchases, but I'm not seeing the "Top Paid" tab, nor is the Market acting in any sane or rational way. For example, I install an app, and the notification bar will say downloading, then installing, then the notification that it installed. In the Market download window, though, I see it download, then switch to installing, but never get beyond that.
What started all this with me was this. Using Linda File Manager, I uninstalled a couple of apps (was trying out the feature since I was in there). In this case, it was Google Earth (don't really use it), and a Pirate game that I never grocked. Anyway, in the Market they wouldn't leave my list in the Downloads, so I wiped the cache and data in the Market app in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications.
After that, all my apps appeared as uninstalled in the downloads window, and the issue with installation started. First thing I did was try and reinstall all the apps, and ended up with a huge list of apps that were installed, but were marked as still installing by the market. Killing the market app cleared out the hung install progress bars. The other thing that started happening was that not all of my installed apps appeared in my download list. KO Boxing, for example was on the featured list as upgradable, but it wasn't in my download list to upgrade.
Ultimately, what I decided to do was wipe the phone and see what happened. After wipe, I logged in and FRF91 didn't restore my apps like it had in the past. In fact, the market was exactly the same as it was before the wipe, with all my apps showing as free or purchased. Installing issue was also the same. Now, I know that Google backs up the settings, so I thought maybe that had something to do with it. I wiped again, but in the configuration process post-wipe, I selected for Google to not restore from backup (hit menu in the setup when you are entering your username/password). This brought me through the process much quicker, but with no change in the market function.
So, I'm still without a "Top Paid" tab, nor with a all together sane Download window. It's frustrating the heck out of me, and I'm about to go back to whatever the 2.1-r1 release was (ERE27?) and see if that makes any different.
The ROM I'm running is the FRF91 full release from lox_dev:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715799
If T-Mobile is doing the OTA's to FroYo from 2.1-r1, then maybe I'll let it do it's own thing today and then see if that fixes it. Ugh.

The above snipped sections are my story too.
Updated last week manually from ERE27 to FRF85b to FRF91 using the official stock clients each time. Non rooted N1. I spent 6 hours on Friday night trying to sort this..
I've got posts up on the Google Nexus One forums also and am holding where I am for a definitive fix. It's very frustrating though..
Go to menu>applications> magage applications> all apps> market then force quit and clear data and whatever else is in there.

I tried that on Friday night. Once I'd done that, none of my installed apps showed in the Downloads section.
That's why I did a full wipe and set the phone back up. Luckily I was still able to find all my apps, including the purchased ones. However the missing 'Top Paid' button and slow market performance persisted.
So, for fun, I pushed back to ERE27 (2.1-r1) and same issue. No "Top Paid" in the Market, and issues with installation. This is complete wipe, nothing installed on the phone after imaging.
I let it upgrade to FRF91, which didn't change anything. I'm now pretty convinced that whatever this is is completely account related on the Google server side of things, and it needs to be sorted out by them
Guess I'll have to figure out who to contact for support from Google :/

I'm working the Google angle also plus have posts on several forums and watches on more.
Please can you keep this thread updated with your progress and I'll do the same.

I've made contact with Google via email and this is now being investigated.
I'm sending them a summary of the problems I've been having and pointing them at various threads both here and in the Market so that they can see how widespread this problem is.
I've also tried a full hard reset and cache wipe without luck. My belief is that this is something that Google need to sort server-side, so I'm done with my wiping and reinstalling for now...

Looks like this has now been fixed server-side.
I got my 'Top Paid' tab back this morning - Yay!
I have rooted captivate. since yesterday I can't download or update anything from market. It keeps saying 'starting downloads' and happens nothing. Even sometimes it says your item will be downloaded but again happens nothing.
I use black market too. Does it make my 'market' fail now? I don't have a clue...please help me.
Hey try re flashing the rom you have and see if that works, its worked for me before.

Make sure the Google Talk services are running.
Steps to try:
1) Clear market data, retry downloads.
2) Depending on the rom you are on, Froyo build, you may not have a unique Android ID. If this is the case, download Android ID Changer and change the ID to something other than seen. Next time you flash stock, get your unique Android ID and write it down so you can use in the future.
Good luck.
I didn't get Froyo yet, and I just rooted in order to get the permission of installing apps freely. so I didn't do anything with roms. And I realized that Google talk is not working. I never played that app becuase I'm using kakaotalk. It says signing in...but nothing happens. How can I erase maket data then. I think I should have study more before rooting. How does goolge talk running related to market?

Both the market and Google talk use this service called
Google Talk Service (or something like that)
If you use a program that blocks startup programs make sure both google talk and its service are greenlisted. In addition try to stop using any task killers to see if that is the problem.
And the massage "Sorry! The process com.google.process. gapps has stopped unexpectedly. please try again." comes out from time to time with 'force close' button.
What does it mean?

I think it is tied to GMail sync which is also tied to the Google Talk service I believe.
I uninstalled apps have chances auto killing that process. They are one click lag, auto killer memory, but nothing changed after rebooting. Even the same error message came out as soon as rebooted. The odd thing is that that task is still running when i check with android hackers. How can I control the start up apps?

Oh my Gosh!! I love XDA developers friends!! Thanks diablo, nbs !! I just found out other thread with same issue and fixed beautifully my captivate.
Here is what I did. I downloaded google talk services apps from here, and copy them to systems/app, and reboot. They are automatically downloading all the accumulated failed downloading after rebooting. I might have deleted some gtalk related apps by mistake. Hooray!!
Thanks all!!

No problem! The same thing happened to me a while back because I accidentally startup audited the service.
i cant seem to make this work for me? but I am having the same problem..
I9003 rooted with Superclick. AndRootFile works okay. Tried the same procedure as I9000 but I still cant get market to install. I was able to remove all the middle east stuff they load it up with here in DXB. Anybody figured this one out? Nice phone but IMO any Android phone is useless without market.
isn't market installed by default?
Here in India on my phone I think it was pre installed when I got it new.
I also bought GT-I9003 in Dubai. I also have a trouble about market. My GT-I9003 are not yet rooted. I have another Galaxy Tab. Extract market.apk by ES File Explorer and moving apk file into GT-I9003 and install it. Any application is installable by this method.
I can open market, browse and serach. but not display application information and my apps. When I tried to display individual application, get a error everytime
"Sorry! process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly"
This GT-I9003 is also consuming a batter a lot... For me, waiting for a custom ROM...

any new battery need its running down cycles, after few days it starts giving you more backup.
Charge the battery to 100% then drain it FULLY to 0% until the phone gets off itself then recharge it again to 100%.
As of now no custom roms for GT-I9003
Suwadee Krup Siam. I moved it to apps with ES File Explorer but it still will not load. Can you give me the exact procedure you used to load it from external SD? I moved some other apps with ES and they worked. It almost seems as if the firmware has blocked it. I bought I9000, SE X-10 mini and mini pro in DXB and none of them had Market either but I was able to install. Really this phone is useless without the apps on Market. Slide ME is junk and Sam-dung app is even worse.
to get market, go in root explorer and look in apps for vender.apk then just install it. if you get fc go to settings>manage apps>market> clear data or cache , one of those 2. dont really remember :S
@hvy flyer
Which Android version you have on your phone ?
I read it on gsmarena that Dubai version is coming with Ginger bread. True ?

Mystery solved. This procedure is for I9003 phones sold in middle east without market app visible (it is there)
Back up phone. I lost contacts but not pictures in gallery. Some apps will also disappear.
Locate IMEA number under battery. Should be about 15 digits. When entering IMEA code, disregard / marks.
From phone keypad dial *#272*IMEA code then #
Phone will enter full page menu.
Select XSG
tap INSTALL.
Phone will reset and all middle eastern and religious apps will not be present. Market will be shown in apps and work with no problems.
As for Gingerbread, mine has Froyo.JPKB1
Also this is my 4th android from DXB. I9000, SE X10 mini, SE X10 pro. What I see is the customer sofware determines whether or not it will have market. Two had it and two didn't depending on which store I bought it from.

Thank you man
Works! Thank you so much!
I searched xda and the googleverse but can't seem to find this exact problem.
On my device, I have the new market running, and I can search, find, and pull up the Google+ app. Hooray! Except one thing: there is no option to download. The screenshots butt up to the top of the app's page, and there is no download, just screens and information...
Weird... so I tried the web-based marketplace... and it says my device is not compatible?
The nitty gritty:
Sprint Galaxy Tab
ROOTED Gingerbread, 2.3.4
And also, I am currently in Costa Rica, which I think may be the culprit (keep reading)
What I don't get is it seems that when an app is not available in your country, it should not appear in the Marketplace App on your device.
Secondly, what determines "my country"? Everything I have in that device points to Texas, everything except my current gps / internet wifi location.
What I don't understand too is why a week or two ago I downloaded it just fine (but I didnt have an invite yet so I uninstalled) and now, the download link is mysteriously gone...
SOLUTION? Yes, I simply found the latest apk and installed. What's interesting now is that in the marketplace I now have the option to open Google+, but not upgrade or uninstall...
I know I can simply keep finding and installing apk updates, but this is a pain in the butt... I want to update via the market!
So any thoughts as to why this app isn't playing nicely?!
Thanks for the input!
-Austin
So it seems as long as I restart my phone and do not apply any lcd density settings+ I can update and download google.plus no problem, but if I boot into / change the density, it dissappears... weird. If anyone else has this problem, know you know!

My Samsung Apps icon shows a "1" on the top right corner, which means that one of the apps has an update. It turns out to be the eBook app which I never could successfully install, and it turns out that I can't update it either!
Is there anyway I can remove the notification or delete that app from the list of downloads (in the Samsung app, click on the left menu button > my page > downloads). It has a history of all the Samsung apps that I'd previously downloaded, even the ones I've deleted. I tried clearing the cache of the app and force stopping but it didn't help. Even turning off New application notification doesn't help, neither does wiping my cache and dalvik.
I'm pretty sure there must be a folder somewhere where I can tinker with all these information. Does anyone know?
I am using Titanium Backup to freeze and delete all kind of apps.
The ebooks app doesn't even show up in Titanium, so I can't freeze it.

I do have the same "1"!!
tried to solve it but no luck
I had the same issue as you, and updating to the latest firmware solved the problem. I'm now on DXLC2, and SamsungApps maintains a history of what I have downloaded before, and also shows the ones currently installed. It no longer thinks that I've installed the Ebook app (which hanged halfway) and tells me there's an update.
If you're not rooted, the Kies way *may* work, as another poster mentioned from another thread. I don't know as I'm rooted so I can't verify that. But after you've connected your phone in Kies, on the top right of the screen, you should sign in, then go to MyDownloads. Do let us know if this works, as I'm curious too.
I think Changing samsung account will be final option.
UseTitanium Backup to freeze and delete all kind of apps.

I tried that, but it didn't work. Annoying, I know. Someone mentioned wiping the SD card, which I haven't done yet, and no longer need to since upgrading of firmware helped.
BTW, I posted in the wrong thread (Which is why "I wrote I had the same issue as you"); there was someone else who started another thread about this issue after me, and I'd meant to reply to that one!

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't work either. The issue here is a Samsung app that shows as having been downloaded, when it hasn't (e.g. stopping the installation before it finishes). So it doesn't even show in my app drawer. Anyway, I suppose the issue has been fixed, though I can only guess at how to clear the history of installed apps which still shows up.
I had same problem...change the samsung account helps me, hope it helps you to
