I highly recommend that you get the Otterbox Commuter. I own the Innocase II and Innocase Active and the Otterbox Commuter stands above both. The Innocase II is nice if you don't care as much about durability or aesthetics, the Active is a damn good improvement over the Innocase II and provides a lot more protection and looks nice, but the buttons are difficult to push. The Commuter is very aesthetically pleasing, much more durable than any case I've held before, not noticeably thicker compared to the Active, and the buttons are so much easier to push. I used the Innocase II for ~3 months, the Active for ~4 months, and just got the Commuter by mail. I'm loving every bit of it.
Personally, the best case I've had (I've had the Innocase II as well) has been the black glossy silicone case I purchased from Verizon. It fits like a glove, looks clean and stylish, gives adequate protection to the camera, and is a bit raised on the front so the screen it protected from a fall or from a rough surface.
It's also available in a couple other colors I believe.
I used a coupon and got it 15% off for about $15 if my memory is correct.
I really was not happy with the Innocase AT ALL. Seidio's quality is progressively decreasing. Also, after a few drops, the random areas of the surface of the case start to peel off, making it ugly and removing any uniformity that existed before.
Note this was after I had to order a replacement from Seidio due to a design flaw in their product. The replacement I received was still flawed. They're just not reliable.
Just got the otterbox defender series, LOVE it

I agree 100% with you here. My fiancee has gone through about six cases for her Incredible and she keeps coming back to the red TPU case sold by Verizon.
I recently changed to the same black glossy TPU case you mentioned. I will never buy another type of case again. It fits tight and looks awesome!

yea i used the innocase II and it just scratched the bezel of the phone. i was excited when i read the description of the case because it said it was "lined" with a soft fabric so dirt wouldn't scratch the phone, but they only lined the back of it and not the sides. so ultimately dirt got underneath and messed up the phone.
after i realized that, i switched to the verizon case i originally bought. on one, i cut out the volume and power buttons so u were touching them directly. worked good, but my cutting wasn't as smooth as i liked so snatched my sisters black case and use that one now.

I couldn't agree with him more, except that I bought the Rugged Combo case (which gives me the holster for the Surface II and the Rugged case and holster).
The first case I used was the Innocase II Surface. I liked it for the most part. The back pieces didn't match up quite perfectly, but it was barely noticeable and not a problem at all. My main problem was that it was so tight (considering I have a slightly thicker 1500 battery) that it would put a lot of stress on my screen protector when sliding it on or off. It eventually started to peel the top left corner off, and you know those things, once they start peeling off there's no stopping it.
I heard really good things about the Otterbox Commuter so I went ahead and ordered one of those and I'm thinking it was a mistake now. The usb port cover does not stay in. The hard outer shell is way to slippery for safety. For the amount of thickness added you would expect to be holding a phone with an exteded battery or maybe one from 3 years ago. Some people like a little bit more thickness to their phone, and were that the only issue I would probably be pretty happy with it, but all three of these things together make it seem like I got less than I expected. The inside silicone layer feels like it adds a lot of shock protection but I take pretty good care of my phones and rarely drop them. My next door neighbour has an Otterbox Commuter for his iPhone 3GS and it is worlds better. The hard shell covers all 4 sides, all the plugs fit in, and it conforms to the shape of the phone. Why they wouldn't mold this case around the shape of the phone and instead opt to make it more brick like is beyond me.
I think I'm going to sand down some parts on my old Innocase II Surface and try it back out again.
I use a Red HTC silicone glove. Fits very snug, bought it from best buy after trading in some old ass games, they still take xbox games unlike gamestop. Cost $30 but minus the $24 trading in 6 games. $6.... best buy takes trades for almost every electronic now...

nothing competes with seidio innocase II... nothing
Yeah, I got a Seidio Innocase as well. Fits very well and has protected my phone properly from 2 drops so far. Feels great and doesn't feel like it adds too much bulk or weight. You should get it too.!
Look up Case-Mate Tough Case. Double layer protection is the best and it looks better than any of the other ones.

I bought an Otterbox defender series case. It's nice but not worth the money. I'll buy another Otterbox case for my next phone but may try the commuter series case instead.

Same here. Granted...this is my 1st and only case I have for my Inc, I like the look and feel of the vzm silicone/rubber case. I may try an otterbox though.
For the price.. go with my el cheapo case in my sig!
I've used the Otterbox Commuter ever since it came out and I love it. Thinking about upgrading to the Defender series though but I think it may add too much bulk. I didn't have a back door for my phone for over a month and my otterbox held my phone together literally. It is WELL worth the price. I've dropped this phone hard enough to smash it into pieces and thank god i had an otterbox on it that prevented that, plus if they break it's a free replacement
I bought a cheap, hard-rubbery case from Verizon at my local store. It works great, but I honestly hardly ever use it. I'm surprised my phone still works. I drop it at least 3 times a week from decent heights (out of my truck onto asphalt or from my lap to the tile floor).
Dincs are surprisingly very durable.
I do however have a screen protector.

I forget the exact price of a DInc but it's somewhere between $300-$400. spending $40-$50 on an Otterbox that will keep it from breaking for sure is worth it, not to mention Otterbox will replace the cover if it breaks and pay for your phone too I think. Just my opinion. I am not risking my phone with a cheap Verizon cover.
I plan on getting a Nexus S within the week (luckily my store got 25 of them) and was wondering if anyone has seen any good gel cases and belt cases for the Nexus S? Specifically a vertical belt case, I already have a ton of horizontal ones and would like a vert one.

Actually the platinum series case is garbage

Hey guys... I'm getting a nexus S but before I get it I would like to order a screen protector and a case... preferably under 20-25$
I'm wondering which one is a good case and screen protector that isn't too bulky but will protect my phone while it is in my pocket.
Incipio Feather paired with an Sgp Ultra Optics, combination of the century.
Will cost you around 38$ for both, but well worth it.

will this protect the entire phone? including the touch sensitive buttons on the bottom of the screen? I'm most worried about those.

Yes, it will.
I'd suggest a full-body skin (BSE, BodyGuardz, Ghost Armor, Zagg, etc.) and you can use any case you like.
First of all, which version of the nexus s are you getting, is it i9020 or i9023, if it's the i9020, your in luck, all the cases on the market are available to you, if not, your only option are a large selection of pouches only, as the i9023 nexus s is a little larger than the i9020, and no manufacture has made any cases yet for the i9023 model.
for the i9023 the pouches are available in all shape and sizes, or you can consider these in the first few photos, they are made for the i9020, will fit the i9023, but a little tight with the edge at the top and bottom slightly sticking/pushed out about 1mm, is'nt really that noticable, but gives you good protection and you can rely on the screen protector to protect the screen/feather touch buttons.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035403
Incipio Feather will not protect you phone that well, even if you have the i9020, the top and bottom can still get scratched, as it's not protected there by the case.
look through the forum accessories section, there are many case stated and reveiwed.

are the bodyguard and ghost amour the same stuff as invisible shield, they do give good protection, but i hate the problem of discolour over time.

And i'm getting the one from rogers :S i couldnt find the model number ontheir site ... but if you know off hand then thats the one
edit~ its either between a casemate pop or an active x !
where would be a cheap place to buy them off? Amazon has them for 30.
same full body protection as invisible shield but they dont leave that orange peel or discoloration
i was going to get the invisible shield installed by best buy themselves.. i heard its hard as hell to install them yourself for the first time..
I don't think they have any other full body shields except invisible shields..
should i take the risk and get one online and install it myself?
Yea they only carry invisible shield. If you dont want to install it yourself you could do that. I would suggest though taking of the invisible shield screen shield and using one from SGP they're the best quality screen shield.
will the invisible shield leave the orange stain behind? or anything when it you remove them?
I personally have never used Invisible Shield, however while reading around many people complain about an orange peel left behind because of the Invisible Shield.
Hmm okay.
And do you know if the phone from rogers is the normal sized one? (Nexus S in Canada)...

i'll hold off first, wait till you get the nexus s first, then you will know which version you have.
update: is it rogers in canada, looking in it's site it should be i9020, it has the super amoled, but it can change, so wait till you get the phone, otherwise you'll be wasting money.

he was referring about my previous post, about the available of third party accessories for this model, and not the i9023, which are very limited at the moment, especially protective case.
All the TPU cases with the plad/checkerboard print will not fit the D-720 (Nexus S 4G). I also have a feeling that all other TPU cases wont either
1. the power button is in the wrong spot
2. it fits too tight and may break your power button.
Even if the ad says "For Nexus S 4G d-720" don't buy it. They Do not make D-720 cases in china.
I bought one specifically labeled on the ad for the 4G and it turns out it's for the i9020
I bought one which I think is made for the i9020, but it fits ok and still looks relatively good. I cut out the buttons because they were slightly off, but now it's great. I'm not sure if the one I bought will fit the 4G because I have an i9023. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-TPU-R...372189?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20b6c5d61d
For the i9023 it works ok, but you can tell it wasn't full made to fit this one. I'm not sure if Nexus S 4G = i9023.
Well I doubt i9020 cases are off that bad on the Nexus S 4G. Have you tried cutting the power buttons/Volume rockers?

Exactly, made by rocketfish, which is owned by bestbuy. i'm talking about the ones that have a distinct checker pattern
I bought a black tpu case from tpu-cases.com & the original poster is right about the power button being off on Nexus S 4G. It does make it more difficult to turn the phone on & off. However, I've kinda just lived w/ it & it's a small price to pay for having a sturdy, good looking case that protects it well against falls & scratches. Plus it was only $8 w/ shipping included.
I may decide to cut out the power button indention on the case in the future but for now it's working out ok.

I am a case hater(screen protectors too). I never had a case on any of my 50+ smartphones for the past 4 years. Every case I buy will have something that turns me off or disappoints me. After several days of use. I take it off and never put it on. It is clearly waste of money and no protection at all for the phone. Recently I cracked 2 of my phones(Note2 and G2). And decided that I will have a case. I got quick window which is ok but adds some bulk and not comfortable to use.(flip part gets in a way)
For the past several years 1 case got my attention. Ringke slim for iphone 5. http://www.amazon.com/Release-Premi...ie=UTF8&qid=1385245025&sr=1-1&keywords=ringke it was for my wife's iPhone5. (i am an iphone hater too ) it is the slimmest and most comfortable case I have ever used on any phone.(dont bring out your pitch forks and torches, it is my personal opinion)
Now that company started making cases for LG G2. http://www.amazon.com/RINGKE-PERFEC...UTF8&qid=1385245039&sr=1-1&keywords=ringke+g2
I just ordered mine and will wait to see how the quality and the comfort is.
I wanted to ask if anyone has used this case for G2 and how is the experience?
I hope somebody will benefit from this post.
Looks like that particular one only works the international variant.
I wonder how much protection it actually provides in a fall. Looks pretty sweet, though.
I had one for my g-nex and I loved it. It is very slim. It stinks they don't have a version for the Verizon g2 or I would get one.

Yeah I had case from Ringke for my Galaxy Nexus too...So I email Ringke...and they told me right now they have no interest on making a Verizon Variant for the G2 case...Sad.
Ah that sucks I would have really liked one for my g2. I remember with the g-nex enough people emailed them for a extended battery version and they actually made one. I guess that was a little different though. G-nex was a much bigger community though.

Yeah...If Verizon just kept the original model then it would been better. More choices for accessories..
I had a Ringke Slim on my Galaxy Nexus. Loved the slim profile BUT the plastic is cheap, on my GNex model, it started getting hairline cracks on all 4 corners. This was common. Ringke shipped out replacements but the replacements did the same thing.
Since them I moved on to CaseMate Barely There and the Incipio Feather.
Out of the CaseMate and Incipio, I found the Incipio to have the overall high quality award with it's super slim profile, nice soft matte feel, and super high durable plastic that is solid all the way though (not painted like Ringke).
I put an Incipio on my womans iPhone 4 and fell in love with it. Since then I've ordered me one for my old Galaxy Nexus and have a new one on my G2.
Thats my personally recommendation of all time favorite slim cases, and I've probably been there and tried them all.
Thanks for the recommendation. I will have to try one out!

I got the Poetic Palette case. It just like the Incipio Feather but I got it cause of the 3yr warranty and it cost less. Nice rubber-like feel to the back. People that see the phone think the case is the official back of the phone and love it.

Better reviews than what the OP posted, if anyone wanted something to compare to.
Poetics 3yr warranty is freaking awesome but I've found their cases on the cheap side. The good side is you just email them and they send you a new one.
I haven't tried the poetic palette. Looks good. Hopefully its isn't painted like most.

The Poetic Palette case seems pretty hard for a slim case. It feels just a few mm thinner then a credit card but really hard. Not that it bothers me, but the case is hard to take off once you get it off. You have to take one corner off first, then the rest; I like that. Makes me feel that a fall won't just make the case come right off. Oh and it has that low profile when face down that you can barely see the glass isn't resting on the surface. Also gives you just enough clearance that the camera lens and power button aren't touching the surface too. Over all just happy with it so far

The palette case is either the soft touch feel (which i personally hate) or the "quiksand" texture. I would recommend the sand one personally.

I want the Feather for my Sprint variant but all they "officially" have is the Feather Shine, which is too slippery for me. I see that they make a Feather for AT&T and Verizon. I'm assuming that I can't use the VZ, but can I buy the AT&T version for my phone.
By the way, +1 on the Ringke cheap plastic. I had the exact same case for my Gnex and while I liked it, I got the four corners cracking too.
Yea you CAN'T use the Verizon one because the Verizon one has smaller buttons. I can CONFIRM that my Verizon one, the button cut out is curved for the smaller buttons.
You CAN use the one for the AT&T version or other. I'd probably just pick them on from Amazon. All the G2's are exactly the same with the exception of the Verizon buttons. Verizon really screwed up changing those. I not only like the look of the standard buttons better but I also think it would be easier to use. Different topic though.
