is it possible to port the CM7 Browser to Darky's ROM 10.0 or any other Stock based ROM?
Would be great especially because of the inverted colors function.
Bump. I'd like to know if this is possible too. I tried to restore the CM7 browser on a stock rom, but it caused a lot of problems and I had to reflash the stock rom. Has it been ported or is it possible to install on Samsung 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 roms?
Incognito mode, the list style of bookmarks and invert colour features are great

I replaced my stock lockscreen with the AOSP lockscreen with Galaxy S Tweaker while using the stock JPO rom. I can't find the same lockscreen option for JPY in GST, and I think doing so manually is too difficult. Is the AOSP lockscreen going to be kept after I upgraded my phone from JPO to JPY? Thank you very much!!
anyone?
Nope after you upgraded to official XXJPY, you will get Samsung Stock Lockscreen. If you use custom XXJPY rom, it depends what the custom rom gives you. Darky's is using AOSP lockscreen. Nonetheless, you can still do it manually and it's very easy. Download the theme template from here:

Yours should be this one:
Theme template (AOSP lockscreen, XXJPY).
I'm running CM 6.1.1. on my N1 which works fine but if I flash CM7 RC1 or nightlies (after a full wipe and format of system partition) the phone becomes non-responsive after a while. Others are experiencing the same issue on their N1s.
Can anyone recommend a Gingerbread based alternative to CyanogenMod, other than the stock GB rom?
I tried MIUI but didn't like the icons - too much iPhone about it.

Super AOSP 2.8.4 The Best ROM on the Market
greetings,
sorry for this general question
but I am lost between a lot of gingerbread roms available for the SGS
what is the most stable gingerbread rom that supports Arabic & has all major features working ?
thanks a lot,
Ahmed
Simply honey 3.2
Juwe's ROM 4.2
Although it's merely a matter of personal preference, you'll find many people here try many a ROM but do always go back to one, and in the process become quite loyalist (not a criticism because I am the same) :3
Testing the Ginger Criskelo Rom v45 on GB 2.3.3 after testing Darky's ROM v10 RC5 and stock JVB with different Kernels
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978354
Advantages:
it is deodexed, zipaligned and rootet, was very simple to install via CWM3, flashing ROM from SD-Card even on a non-deodexed SGS I.
works perfect for me, is fast, smooth, has a nice look with glassy notification bar and dial-screen and seems to be very stable.
Disadvantages:
Has just 3 minor bugs (email.apk needs to be set back to default and powercontrol bar needs to be set on launcher and requires a restart to work properly...these bugs are solved)
3rd bug: when I choose the folder for favorite contacts (contacts marked with a star) on homescreen the application crashes.
Somebody who uses Ginger Criskelo v42 or v45 has an idea to solve this problem? link or solution will be useful!
I like to thank Criskelo for his great work and this beautiful ROM!
you might also wanna check on CMy7 or miui. Great interface, smooth as silk and AOSP!
No best only users choice and GB is Beta not full release .

Hi,
I flashed my SGS with Darky's Rom 10.1 but I'm unhappy with the Gingerbread-Theme.
Is it possible to install the Froyo Theme?
If I install the TW 4.5 Launcher, can I make a backup of the old one and restore it if I don't like the TW 4.5?
Is there any way to port Samsung camera application on JB rom? I know that these roms are missing samsung framework, and simply copying will not work, is there any other way? I tried JB+ camera app from the market, good features, but the video recording lag as hell. Can anyone recommend another camera app that will work with JB ROMs
Thx in advance.
Im using JB 4.2.1 C-RoM BeaN v2 and i find the stock 4.2 camera works very fast and smooth. I suggest you try it.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 C-RoM BeaN v2
Kernel: Mackay 0.230
Interactive governor
ROW I/O scheduler
Baseband: I9000BVJJPG
RemICS 4.2 rom can also be considered
I am currently using remics 4.2 , its comparatively feature rich, a nice browser, latest touchwiz goodies, and a nice CAMERA too. But i m also missing that amazing stock camera of samsung , itz performnce is simply amazing especially at dark. IS THERE ANYWAY TO PORT IT FROM STOCK GINGER BREAD??? DEVS PLZ HELP :crying:
I think it's impossible due to different camera app code layout. New layout showed up on ICS first, so if you want to have old, good GB camera I suggest you to flash stock firmware

Plus the stock camera relies on full Touchwiz frameworks to operate- which unofficial roms lack...
