Does anyone have a functional touchwiz calendar on miui?
i hate the miui one.. i looks so much confusing and the graphics looks ugly
the miui calendar is the only app with a bad ui but much options...
I tried to push the touchwizcalender apk to system/app but somehow i killed
the miui calender and after an calender recovery my calender disappeared
any solutions for this?
TouchWiz apps make use of the TW framework, which is part of the stock Samsung ROMs. If you want to use a TW app on a ROM that isn't based on the stock Samsung ROM, you will need the framework to be built into the ROM. MIUI is based on AOSP, and as such does not contain the TW framework, so unless some devs are able to port TW apps over with the framework, I'm afraid you can't use the TouchWiz calender on your MIUI ROM.

does anybody know which file from the captivate system dump contains the samsung widgets. i'm trying to find the widget that contains the daily briefing and all that stuff. I'm running 2.2 aosp rom. i also have touchwiz launcher and the aosp launcher but the samsung widgets dont show up with either one.
Is it possible to move the default widgets to an AOSP ROM?
After moving to CM7, I find that the my favorite News widget was the one included in the stock OS, and I was wondering if there was a way to move it. Simply pulling the APK from the deodexed ROM doesn't work. Is there another way?
TL;DR: I want me the stock News widget.
I decided to try a few custom roms and really like Icecoldsandwich so far.
But I miss the sms app and the combined dialer/contacts app from stock Sense 3.6.
The ones in Sense 4.0 (Nik's Project X) seem like a step back (dialer/contacts is 2 apps again, rather than 1).
Is it just a question of finding a rom with the apps I like, extracting the apk files, and sideloading them to Icecold?
What are the apk names for Sense sms and dialer/contacts apps?
Can I replace the stock apps in Icecold with the Sense ones?

Not possible
Sense apps rely on some other sense apps and framework in order to function
You cannot have some sense apps on an aosp based rom
BUT you can try 3rd party apps for that, like Go Contacts and Go SMS
What a shame. But I will just have to try out a lot of different roms then
Or try the Go apps or even go back to Handcent.
Try the cootek dialer+contacts app from playstore. Not as good as sense but that's what I use in CM7.

Hi there guys!
I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 with lollipop. Instead of touchwiz, iIhave the Google Now Launcher which gives the device a stock lollipop appearance. Now I wanted to know if if could get a stock lollipop look on my whole device like the one on nexus devices. The Google now launcher doesn't change my notification panel or my other apps.
So can anyone tell me how to get the default look on my whole device?

Google Now Launcher is just a launcher. It will only replace TouchWiz's launcher - not the entire UI. To get the looks of stock Lollipop, you'll need to install an AOSP based ROM that is available for your phone or install a theme (or stock firmware based ROM) that looks similar to the theme and UI of stock Lollipop.
I know making a rom is a lot of time. But my old dream is an aosp rom on my XZ, but my phone's bootloader is locked (Allowed: No) . So i cant flash aosp. But i seen a lot of mods what is creating "someting" aosp. (I hope you understand what i mean ) So if we put everything in a pack and port some aosp apps like settings, gallery, phone etc....
Is it possible? If it is someone can create it?
Thanks!
It's not easy as you think. ROM like that need to be themed (to look like AOSP) in framework and many other places. Porting apps is easiest thing. As now, i can only recommend you these mods:
AOSP themed SystemUI (available for XZ 5.1)
CyanogenMOD messaging app and
Google Dialer (i dunno that it'll work with XZ 5.1)
@ActorTheBest
The best we can do is replace some of the Sony apps with Google apps from Play Store and move some of the ported CM12.1 apps to system->app folder. I also changed some of the icons from AOSP. See attachment as I wanted the same thing.
Hope it helps. BTW, I have eXistenZ 3.1.0 installed on my XZ.
Is there specific Roms for the xperia that are also like? Or gpe?
