the animated bootscreen from the htc nexus, as seen in this video.
it is rotated to portrait and shown in fullscreen. this was requested in this thread.
download the bootscreen and apply as update.zip with recovery image.

i tried to make it that first the hero with the two nandroids appear, then the looping nexus screen. didn't work out as i couldn't align the pictures correctly, but i'll be working on that, maybe i can figure it out on friday (gonna have a hangover, tomorrow is the company christmas party ). i like the hero animation with the sound (only the two short android noises, not the htc noise) and the phone is still the hero. also goes great with the original splash screen. i'll let you know if i can make it in time for your 1.7 release, will be an exclusive first then drop me a pm if you have an eta yet, i won't tell anybody

1.7 is released and the bootscreen u made really gave a beauty enhancement. Been reading alot about the bootanimations and figured out that 2.0 does support the droid and nexus type of boot.img, just need to resize all the pngs in bootscreen.zip and change settings in the file in that zip and then finally add the bootanimation binary from nexus. Just didnt have the time to do it, gonna add that later for 1.8 release if people want
Is it possible for me to add this to a stock Sprint Hero? If so, can I choose to replace the Sprint animation w/ the Nexus Bootscreen.

guys.. any idea if it possible to run these bootanimations in Eclair AOSP? becuase AOSP roms dont use animated gif rather use 2 single png files which give a animation sort of feeling not original animation. cheers

yeah i have read what behnaam said. thing is that he is talking about 2.1 series not AOSP series. he meant that he will make his next 2.1 release such that it will support the bootanimation.zip file which contains 2 animation file and 1 plays after another like FLAN (nexus). he dint say that he will make AOSP like that.
so i want to know if it is possible to make AOSP to support playing animated gif file as bootanimation.

if you have a matching audio file i will be happy to include it, but there was no audio in the original dump of the nexus...
apparently, over at the vibrant dev forums, they've got some "JK2" roms that have window animations ive never seen before....really cool looking stuff
one of the devs over there says its part of the framework....anybody tried to unlock these animations or are they possibly just part of the JK2 rom specifically?

Yeah it's just a shutdown animation. I'm waiting as well for this to be figured out as a screen lock animation. I normally turn off all animations but that is one I really can't wait for.

Hey, do any off you guys know if it's possible to get the Gingerbread screen off animation for HTC Sense?
Cm7 has it and miui. It its a nexus s thing not a gingerbread thing. When the first leak of gingerbread came out they found a way to add it in, but I do not recal how. I am running miui, I can try to find the files and post them later but I would not know how you could apply.

Its also included in Oxygen Tom, if that helps. Its a pretty basic but lightning fast rom and its always quite fast with releases to keep it up to date with AOSP. Definitely recommend.

i saw the video on youtube for that, the animation only lasts a few seconds dosent it? dont we have a dump of a honeycomb device yet to rip it from?

Nah, the dump just has a bootanim with some "Andriod 3.0" crap from the recent Honeycomb conference.
I'm sure it wont be long before the real thing finds it's way to XDA though
The honeycomb boot animation reminds me of Smackdown Just Bring It on PS2. The game hat such grid animations in the back of the menu.
having some instructions on how to replace the file wouldn't harm anyone...
i have a tmobile logo at startup that i want to remove...cannot find it anywhere

1. Choose option "No battery, theme only",
2. press next till bootanimation section
3. select desirable bootanimation
4 .press next till finish
5. wait for flashable zip (no need to upload anything)
Do they fit the DHD's screen?
Last time I tried a bootanim from UOT a few weeks ago it was too small and off-centre.
I think the Honeycomb bootanimation would be good for fast boot?

Changing the boot animiation is easy.
Find a boot animation you like, download it, rename zip to bootanimation.zip and then use Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (in root mode) to replace the existing file in /data/local/
Back-up the file that's there 1st obviously, or do what I do and just rename it to bootanimation_orig.zip.
Changing the splash screen requires a different approach... but I already answered that for you here:

I had some time off and I finally cooked something I was thinking about since long time.
The CM7 Boot Animation is pretty neat. I liked it a lot, but I wanted to add something: TUX.
I took the original CM7 Boot Animation and added Tux surfing the cyan wave around Android.
