Has anyone been having a problem with their text messages. I use GOSMS Pro and haven't had any problems but my wife and kids use Handcent and keep getting Msg 2111 from 9230, saying The receipient you are sending to has chosen not to receive messages. They also get the same msg when trying to send through the stock msg app. I tried to call sprint, waited 20 minutes on line and when they finally pick up, they hang up. That's nothing new, Sprint support sucks ***. If anyone else has had this problem and has been lucky enough to talk to someone through Sprint support and can pass on any info, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
There are some settings online when you login to your sprint account that involve basically blacklisting numbers, maybe it has a setting to only allow certain numbers? I take it this is on all texts? What if you uninstall handcent?
~maybe I set it too high...
I'll take a look but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I thought it wasn't happening on my phone, just my wife and kids but I just tried to send a msg and got the same msg back, so it happens on GOSMS Pro, Handcent, and the stock msging app as well.

On an Sprint HTC TP2. Just talked to my wife. We've been trying to text back and forth all night and we're both getting the same message: the sender is 9230 and the message is "The Recipient you are sending to has chosen not receive messages. Msg 2011." She thought I was mad at her and blocked my texts...lol. I Googled the problem and it seems other sprint users are seeing the same thing.
My wife was mad at me also, ahe thought I blocked her number. It's back up and running for now, we never could get through to sprint, they kept hanging up on both of us after waiting on hold for ridiculous amounts of time, not too pleased about that, I usually atleast get to talk to someone ificall customer or tech support.

It sounds like it was a Sprint issue. My guess it had something to do with google voice. On the help thing, live chat is now way faster than phone. Unless you get the direct number for advanced tech.

I looked on the sprint website and couldn't find a link to live chat anywhere, I thought it used to be in the support section but I had no luck finding it. Thanks for your help. I guess it was just an intermittent thing, it only lasted for a few hours but sure pissed my wife off thinking I had blacklisted her txts.

sprint webchat is in "contact us". The secret number to advanced tech (they change this number frequently afaik) is 877-735-8405, I have another couple that may work as well = 866-639-9565, and 877-809-6696. The first one I just called, direct to a rep, no automated buttons or voice inputs
You may have to call back multiple times before you get someone competent. I worked for Sprint for many years and learned quickly there were some that could help you and some that wouldn't help you. If they're being an idiot just hang up and try again until you get someone cool.
Thanks duce, everytime my wife or I called last night, wait time was around 20 min and when someone answered they would hang up without saying anything at all. This happened about 10x in a row, not happy at all with their support lately. I usually don't have any problem with them, but last night was ridiculous.

So, I've been waiting for months and months, and really would love to use the Google Voice thing on my G1. Never used Grand Central.
The Google people seem way too slow and love to tease
Anyone can help? I'd appreciate very much..
TIA...
As of right now, I've not seen an option to invite folks. I got mine a few days ago via signing up on the Google Voice site. It'd been about a month or two since I had last signed up to test it. I've had numerous folks asking me for an invite, but unlike Gmail, I've not seen an invite feature. Guess you just have to be patient until Google picks you.
I'm a GC/GV beta tester, and one of the option's it shows in the control panel is Tell A Friend. I've never used it, and it's not very descript at all. I don't know if this feature will get you an immediate acct or just have you sign up to be notified whenever it does go out beta. I'll be glad to give it a try if want. Shoot me a private message msg here on XDA with your email address. It's worth a shot I guess.
where are you seeing that?
Been a GC/GV bet bunny since GC popped into existence. Never seen that option to "tell a friend". Maybe I don't really have any friends? Or maybe its new? where are you seeing that, under Settings?
I was one of the first to sign up and I got mine a couple weeks ago, it doesn't appear that I have any invites to share but here is the link from Google.

Yes I did... At least 2 different @gmail addresses... But 4-5 months is a bit long time and kind of frustrating... Esp. it could be very useful for my line of work (if the features they promise are true) plus would make my G1 phone more of what it should be...

I just got my invite on Thursday, applied back in March with a gmail address. I have been using PF Visual Voicemail and it's been great, but the Google service is clearly better for those us running most of our email/phone/messaging lives via Google. Hope you get your invite soon, it's definitely a winner!
Anyone know if a Google branded app will be released soon? The GV app is good, but I'd love to have another option as well.

A quick update:
So, this morning I finally received the official Google Voice invite from Google.
Now, imagine my absolute joy and relief, that after waiting for it since March (!) I click on the link in that email only to see

Thanks for visiting Google Voice. We're not yet open for users outside the US, but are planning to expand our service to additional countries in the future. "

You can probably also get his email by clicking on 'Send email to the developer'.
Actually, just checked, you don't even have to click on it. His email is right there on the page.
You know every app on the Market has the developer's email, right?

Just wanted to see if this got rectified? I recently did the reverse of the OP. Switched from the Nexus One up to the Nexus S. Premium isn't showing up on the NS.
nope. I just won't support the dev anymore. if one really wants to pay for this app, go thru the market. the dollar isn't worth the headache.
also waiting for response
i also buyed via Paypal cause i dont have a credit card (Market only accept Credit-card)
i changed rom and cannot activat premium features
will try to get money back from paypal (45days!)
hope he will response in next few days

If it were me, I would find alternative means of getting the software. You already paid for the license. If the dev don't wanna support his own product, either don't use it, or find another place to download it. There are many places to obtain android apps.
I don't like spreading this because I support the developers and truly appreciate the work they do. But I also don't like to see ppl cheated out of their money whether it was intentional or not. I'll tell you how to get that app from the market without paying. Just shoot me a pm.

I am another person who bought via PayPal, thinking it would save me $1 and put more $ in the developers pocket rather than the Android market taking it. I originally purchased it back in January 2011 and now cannot get my new device to show that it is the premium version without purchasing on the Android Market... Did anyone find a solution to this or get a reply from Koush?
First off, I apologize if I come off as "noobish". I joined this site about 10 minutes ago. Anyway, last week I left my Samsung Captivate unattended (like the drunken fool I am), someone guessed my pattern too many times and now I'm at the "too many pattern attempts" screen and of course I do not have a Google account. From my understanding, after readin some threads on here, one of the solutions is to use the ODIN program to flash the phone, is that correct? And also, is there any possible way, via ODIN or some other program, for me to view my text messages before I flash it and lose everything? I would very much like to know the contents of the texts I've been receiving all week. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this, and perhaps help me out.
The too many pattern attempts only locks the phone for a set time. Sounds to me like you "found" a phone that you want help with. Why not take it to at&t and have them return it or ask them for assistance if you are indeed the rightful owner.
I can assure you I'm the righful owner. I left my phone unattended at a party and my fantastic friends tried guessin my pattern too many times. I'm now stuck at a screen where you have to enter your Google account. Like a dumbass I didn't create a Google account when I first purchased the phone. So now I'm locked out of my phone for good. And I've already been to AT&T. We tried the hard reset, and just does not work and they won't give me a new phone.
**** flashed with Odin and create a new Google acc or call art and said that u lost the phone and paid those 125 but u still can keep the phone u have now and sell it truogh Craigslist or some place like that !

So just get on a computer and create a Google gmail account. It does not have to be created by your phone. Once you have created your account, you can then enter your gmail ID when the phone prompts for it.
But I agree. Something is fishy with this story.

So its going to verify whatever he puts in there to a "blank" file, it won't match The point of entering the Gmail account is a second means of verification, if there is no account registered to the phone, it won't work.
His best bet is to return the phone to its owner.....the dead give away that it is not his, is that he has not had it for a week...who can go a week without their Captivate?

I think you are straight up lying. dude, att isn't going to just say "sorry, can't help you" if its really your phone. plus, Google account creation is (almost) unsurpassable when you insert sim card for first time. please tell us how you used market without Google account because im pretty sure its more secure than that(especially for situations like the one you brought here).
if its truly your phone, go to att tomorrow, give them the last four of your social security no. and they will be more than happy to reset your phone.

It has been working for any Sprint user that sends an MMS to a Google Voice number since October. The Sprint user doesn't need to be using Google Voice for it to work.
Also, I'm getting MMS's from Virgin Mobile (which uses Sprint's network) and T-Mobile users as well but they haven't said anything official about it AFAIK. AT&T still doesn't work at all.

I got an mms from my brother last week and was shocked until I remembered he is on Sprint.
Why is this MMS thing so hard to do? I remember when Apple was going through this with the iPhone a few years back. Was very weird then as now.
Google can't figure out how to send a picture along with the other data?
I really hope they get this working. My phone has trouble recieving MMS messages from iPhone users (my whole family but me), and this would provide a great way to recieve the pictures.

No way am I paying $5 per month, that's BS !!!
I have 8 unwanted ATT apps on my phone right now !!! (and have to buy one/service to block a number)?
Locked boot loader, no CRs, no way to block individual numbers, low audio can only be fixed if rooted, and there's is other stuff that I forgot.
Not impressed by Android so far, (love the phone). Looks like I picked the wrong year to switch to android !!!
IOS 7 is JB, I hope I don't regret my decision to switch to android. :crying:
What's the big deal? $5 a month really going to impact the rest of your life so drastically? Would you rather be on a limited unlimited network with terrible services, no customer service, lies, etc... The ROM I use let's me 'block'/ignore calls and texts. Not sure if your has that option.

Did you even check message options? If you open your stock messenger, tap menu and settings, then tap more, there is a spam filter you can have off or on. If you turn it on you have to option to block specific numbers that send annoying text or spam. I mean it is massages that you say you want to block so messing with call blocking is pretty much pointless and you should have looked at message settings first.:good:

That 100% bullcrap.
I appreciate your help, but please don't say that about me.
I google, use search features on all sites, roam around in my own settings, BEFORE I ask questions on this board.
Please, please, please, do NOT put me in THAT category of (peeps who are too lazy to search), I am NOT one of them!
Especially since one of the regular senior members here suggested I had to pay att $5 per month for smart limits.
not only is this thread "needed", it should be made a "sticky"

I did a Google search for "blocking messages of the note 3" and the first five hits all had the same information posted on post 9.
So maybe Google or whatever search engine you used in your region blocks some stuff. Or your search terms where not clear enough.
I'm not trying to put you down or anything, it's just took me maybe 3 minutes tops to find the information on Google with those terms.

You are fantastic! Clearly way better than me, (and I'm ok with that).
We should close this site down (and just use Google) !!!
As a matter of fact, why have any forums at all.
You and I both know you can google anything, so why bother having these sites.
edit - guess how I found XDA Developers
