Gameloft Games On The Xoom! [Compatibility Testing] - Modern Combat 3 HD is out!

If you buy it do you get a APK to download? Can you explain the process of getting it to your Xoom that you used?

How is the game. looks a lot like Halo

thats pretty much what it is. Gameloft ports popular console games to mobile under different names so they dont get sued. They do make awesome games. This one has been around for a little while but it is amazing on the xoom! Everything is High-res HD just like it would be on an Ipad. Its your typical firstperson shooter but its still pretty fun.

Just Tried it and its complete Crap! Even in your uploaded Pic you can see the Menus on top are cut off.
Main Menu doesn't load, and top menu (Weapon selection, reload,etc) are cut off.
Not fully playable.
You got my hope up!

You can access Atrix's gameloft page on Xoom's stock broswer, Google Gameloft Atrix. You can also BUy and download them from you xoom, just need to input you Cell's number.
But its pointless since No Atrix game fully Work on a Xoom ATM.

I completely disagree. Yes the menus are cutoff. But they still work and the game controls WORK PERFECT. The game scales the graphics properly to hd. Yes its not perfect but it works and it works good. So what if some of the menu elements arent displaying properly, the game and gameplay are solid.
You just dont seem to understand how to use it. ALL of the weapon select/reload/pause/grenade work perfectly for me.

Pretty sure thats what I said, and again, it does work.

Considering I am well into Level 3 and enjoying the game more than I ever have on the variety of devices Ive had it on before, I would not call it crap.

I downloaded from this site with my xoom.
The menus are a little off but still usable. You can also customize your button layout in the in game settings and move all of the button elements anywhere you would like them on the screen. This way you can actually get the weapon select to show fully. I was still unable to use the map because it is too far cut off at the top of the screen, but it definitely works.
Also note that some of the button require that you select slightly below the actual button on the screen.

Out of curiosity, has anyone notified Gameloft of the issue with the cutoff screens on Xoom? I would like to get this but do not want to go through unnecessary tweaks to get it to work properly.
EDIT: I posted an email to their support for full tablet support without screen cutoff. I suggest you do the same if you want this to be Honeycomb optimized. Can't be that hard since the reports here claim the game works fine otherwise. Do your part and report it to the source!

There are quite a few other Gameloft games that work. I play the hell out of GT Racing academy on my XOOM. I just installed the D2G version and it worked perfectly.

i bought this game let summer for my incridible wasn't the greatest. I just logged back into the site on my Xoom and I can download for my Xoom. Hopefully my experience will be different.

Does it offer gyroscope controls on the xoom

Not as many as yourself mate but we have some of the same games, Modern Combat 2 -Black Pegasus rules but i cant get beyond the sniper on the roof level 3 i think it is.

I've gotten the game using....other methods....and it lags like hell. There's a good reaon why its not compatible

Nah it should run flawlessly on the vivid, after all this is still a powerful chipset and a very common one. It's because rock star tests their games on every device before they remove the market filter and they most likely are unaware of this devices existence

Yeah, I'm not sure if Rockstar listens to customer feedback from their tech support, but I was one of the people contacting Rockstar support in order to inform them of all of the phones with similar chipsets that were compatible with Max Payne.
The Vivid wasn't on their pre-release list of compatible phones for that game, but, when they finally did release it, it's listed as compatible and available for us on the market.
If you want Vice City (or other Rockstar games), I'd suggest reaching out to support and list other phones they list as compatible with MSM8660 chipsets. Who knows, it might make all the difference.

Xperia S has the same MSM8660 chip. and same bug occurs on it, once u get in a car, it crashes the phone.

we need to email rockstar guys.

It works on Xperia play (duh, single core with adreno 205) and it is compatible with HTC rezound (msm8660 and adreno 220) then why not our devices? ..... Vice city does not work on my EVO 3D as well, same hardware as HTC rezound and Xperia S.

i had a version of gta3 that ran perfectly on my vivid...that i obtained from other means as well. It would sometimes have issues getting back to the menu once the game started. I have since lost that version and cannot find one that runs correctly now.
haven't checked out and VCs yet....but gta3 was a battery KILLER

GTA3 runs perfectly without any issues on adreno 220 devices......

So, I bought it, played a little, and now? Disappointment! The graphics on it are worse than MC3, do any of you know how to improve those graphics? It's an awesome game, except by this HUGE Hiccup...

It's really smooth, but graphics sucks... Gameloft put Tegra 2 as a low end platform, so we get graphics like low end devices :angry:

It's running like mine , but don't you think it's not as good as it should be? Give a look at other (older like 9mmHD) Gameloft games, and their screenshots, it looks amazing! And our device can handle much better graphics quality than this, I mean look at my Real Racing 2 screenshot! Something is wrong there

How did you guys get this, i have a motorola xoom 3g, running ics, but as soon as i click on any one of my modern combats, it force closes, do you have any ideas?

The fps on mc3 is low until I overclock to 1.5ghz , the mc4 is better now? As the graph looks bad

Mine doesn't have this problem, neither the MC3 or the MC4, except the bad graphics I like the games

Gameloft hates Tegra lol
I played this game for some time (until level 13 or 15 online), now I stopped playing, I prefer other games

no to be honest I just buy the game days ago and tested on my xoom graphics are awful super low resolution I have a note 2 from sprint and buy the hml cable and output to the TV and the graphics are stunning almost that my friend come and ask me if i was playing PS3 because i used it with the sixasix app controller XD
so yes MC4 does not work in HD graphics on old deices
tested to on a nexus 7 of friend and the graphics are at max runs perfect

I don't know but i think you are right, here on galaxy SIII it looks like better than my MZ601, i don't know if this is why i have a 1280x800 10.1 vs 1280x720 4.8 display but things are better on Galaxy SIII. I know it's not android but MC4 have a better look at iPhone 5 than my iPhone 4s/iPod Touch 5g.

^Funny fact:
My Nexus 10 has a GPU as powerful as my S4 (maybe even faster, as proved by a video it can run and S4 can't), the CPU is really powerful too. S4 has better graphics than Nexus 10!!! Also happens with N.O.V.A 3!

Yes, we technically can run lots of games, but what are some games that are well-suited to the gear's tiny little screen? therealduckie's list isn't about what games play well - You aren't going to be playing Doom with a single finger, for example.

Doodle jump is really fun!

Adventure Tiiiiiiiime! Ski safari.

"Free Brick Buster" is a good breakout clone that fits the screen perfectly. It has simple one-finger controls that don't block the display. It can be played for just a few minutes, in a situation where pulling out your phone to play a bigger game might be inappropriate or inconvenient.

Try Copter 3D. It's what flappy bird should be, but this is in the first person perspective.

It lags for mee too so unistalled it I don't think its Optimised for watch the watch it way overpowered for the game so it's not a issue with watch being too slow.

Cut The Rope works very well for the Gear. I also agree Flappy Birds lags, but it's not too, too terrible to play.

I actually have a working pacman game that plays flawlessly, but it's not easy working the controls unfortunately (unless you hook it up through bluetooth to a ps3 controller). I use a Nintendo emulator called NES EMU and every game I've tried so far plays perfectly with it except for the controls obviously. A long time ago I came across a zip of every Nintendo game ever made, so I took all of the most popular games and put them into their own folder and that's what I wound up copying to the Gear (all together it's not even 80 megabytes lol). I'm sure someone else has done this too but I also played Super Mario World 64 with the Drastic emulator, and I was surprised by how smooth it ran. I know some captain obvious clown had his entire life ruined because the whole world didn't do exactly as he was expecting and only list things that work exactly the way he expects them to on the Gear, but I don't give a squirt because just being able to play Super Mario 64 on a damn watch is freakin awesome whether it's "perfect" in his little world or not.
