You trying to flash Amon Ra through ROM Manger?
Try to update RM or delete and download again.
I had an instance where Amon Ra recoveries was greyed out
in Rom manager
More info would be nice. If you're trying to flash via CWM then you may have the alternate recovery option greyed out if you don't give it root privileges, alternatively you can use the flash_image method via a terminal.
I tried via rom manager. It says armon ra recovery installed but if I boot in recovery clockworkmod appears

You need to flash Amon then use Quick Boot from Market to flash into recovery
Or, get the Amon img and flash it thru Terminal
I gave up on RM/CWMod

Clock work what happens when you boot to clockwork can you not access backup/restore .
RTFM
Troubleshooting:
Droid users: Stuck at the "M" logo? Flash an alternate recovery and flash back to ClockworkMod.
HTC Users: Flash recovery not working? Try fastbooting a recovery on.
Droid X/2/Pro Users: You must run the Bootstrap application first to use ROM Manager.
Samsung users: You must flash a Clockwork compatible kernel first (see XDA forums

Hi guys:
I have rooted my phone today using SuperOneClick root. Then I have installed ROM Manager, and installed Clockwork Recovery Mod 3.0.0.5. I have being reflashing Clockwork and recovery menu via ROM Manager because when I turn off my phone and turn it up (holding up power on and vol down button) and press to go to Recovery then appears the error image that is like an Android logo, cellphone and a yellow caution sign.
¿Can you guys help me? ¿What I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
That's the stock recovery. If you still have a stock rom, it will restore stock recovery unless you delete the following files:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
/system/recovery-from-boot.p

I don't understand.
I have installed to it CM7 last build. And is running without any problems, but I am scared that if I have some problem with the OS and I can't boot to recovery.
It has Clockwork Recovery Mod but I can access it unless I use ROM Manager to start it.
¿I need to delete those 2 files and It will be fixed?
Thanks!
That is definitely the stock recovery (Android with an exclamation in a triangle).
If you have CM7 installed, I've no idea how you got the stock recovery, but re-flashing another recovery should fix it. The two files I mentioned aren't included in CM7, so that's not the problem...

Agree. That's the stock recovery. Sometimes you need to apply the new recovery twice under rom manager. I did have similar experience. Install a custom recovery again. I beg it will be fine next time. Hope this help.
When I first rooted using a one click method my custom recovery would only stick for one boot. On the xda nexus one wiki there's instructions on how to install a recovery after one click root and get it to stick.
Hope this helps!

I tried flashing it through rom manager but when I went to boot recovery, it didn't show up. I deleted the 3.0.0.5 img. I tried flashing it like 5 times but to no avail.
If you are having flashing issues...try switching to the alternate recovery, bottom of page and then switching back....worked for me...

I think Koush has the older recoveries on his site, just download and flash from Terminal or ADB.
Here are four ways you could flash the recovery: http://romrepo.info/wiki/index.php?title=Flash_the_ClockworkMod_Recovery.
Just replace the file with what you have and any of them should work.
Follow andythegreenguy's post, except that if you have the newest ROM manager and you use Method 2 from the ROMRepo, the recoveries might be in the mirror.kanged.net folder instead of the koush folder. That did the trick for me.

I have been using RA recovery for the last couple days and now I want to go back to CWM. Every time I flash through the rom manager it says that it has flashed it but when I reboot into recovery it is still RA. Any advice on how to switch back?

I currently some how got the rooting onto my samsung capivate. It's fully rooted just without clockwork recovery mod. When ever i try to flash it on the device it says successful but when i reboot into recovery it just show me the same recovery as before it was even rooted.
So my question is when flashing a custom rom on the device do i have to use odin or can i use clockwork recovery directly?
Thank and much appreciated.
If you have recovery 2e you can simply install clockwork mod. If you have recovery 3e install a kernel that has clockwork mod built in using Odin. From then on you won't need Odin to flash a custom ROM. Simply use the install from zip option in clockwork.

Flash the update.zip twice. Since you don't have signature verification error, I an going to assume you are on 2.1. You have to flash the update.zip, then flash it again. Then you should see cwm.

+1 took reinstalling packages 2x while flashing the CWM update.zip back when I first did it
+ 10 when I first flashed I had to select reinstall package like 3 or 4 times.
