Is there anything that will let you launch the app drawer without going to the home screen? Or even just your favorite apps? Just wondering, I still get a lot of times where there is a 10+ sec pause going to the home screen.
There's an app called "Bar Control" which will let you put short cuts in the notification bar.
Well if its an app you use all the time just hold the home key and it shoukd pop up. Or you can use bar control, I didn't really like it but it can do what you want.
Thanks! I like the bar control
I wish you could customize what apps came up when you held down the home button instead of it just being the most recent ones. Or you could even have a 4 app dock that's customizable and have the other 4 be recent apps.
...and I don't know what I did to change it. It just have needed a reboot to come into effect (which I hadn't done for a day or two). Instead of locking the screen, it mirrors the action of the home button. Works like it's supposed to on long press and when the screen is off. The only change is when the screen is on. Anyone know how to change it back? It's also possible that the setting is in ADW settings. I can't seem to find it though.

Never mind. I guess the "change end button behavior" in spare parts really means "change lock button behavior." Sorry for wasting space on the forum haha.
so, I haven't rooted yet, and am trying to take screen shots of some open programs. I know you are supposed to either hold the power button and volume down together, but its impossible with my fat fingers to do that properly; I also saw that holding home and power is supposed to work, but that doesn't either.
Also, the quick memo program, which supposedly does that too, doesn't do it; when I invoke that, I just get a blank, yellow page to show up, not the open screen of the open program..
Am I missing something?
thanks!

I have big hands too. Try pushing the middle area between the Vol down and Power with one finger. Just a pretty quick push. Works for me your results may vary.
thanks man, it took a few tries but I got it to work! :good::good:

Apps for taking screenshots
Apps are available in Google Play Store, that allow to take screenshots of your phone's screen.
With root, Install Xposed framework- gravity box. Then enable screenshot option on power menu.

Try "Screenshot Ultimate" from "Ice Col Apps"
Screen Locker is an app that allows you to lock the screen. It locks the screen in a way that prevents someone from trying to press buttons and touch the screen to change what you want to show them. They can still use the power buttons and some devices the home button is not consumed, but they still shouldn't be able to exit the app you locked them to.
Once you activate the lock, which is done by swiping in from the activation window, you can then pass your phone around to all your friends to show them that funny picture, hilarious Facebook post, or incriminating text without them trying to delete it, look at other content, exit the app, and pretty much anything you don't want them doing.
Its very simple to use as well:
1. Configure your options and settings as well as unlock pattern
2. Adjust where you want the activation window to be
3. Leave the app
4. Tap the activation window till you feel a vibration then swipe into the center of your screen
5. Share your phone
6. Enter unlock pattern and profit!
I have a couple ideas for the future of this app. I will let you guys play with this one then I'll get your feedback and go from there.
One thing I was thinking is long pressing the activation window to "hide" it allowing you to touch whatever might be under it. There will be a notification allowing you to re-show the activation area again.
Please email me with any recommendations or issues.
If you leave a one star rating, explain why. I cannot improve anything without any constructive criticism! Thanks!
So im looking to make an app for myself, I want it to have an overlay type, so if I hit my home button it a little part like an overlay stays on screen but you can still open other apps.
Is there a way to do something like this? I have never done it and have no idea where to start :/
Almost like a widget but it can be used over any app.
