Just got this neat little thing today.. other then being the nicest screen protector I've used to date, the case is pretty "stylin"! it was a little more tricky to apply then I hoped.
The screen protector isn't sticky at all most of the time vs. Actual screen and/or other brands of screen protector...
The link below is for the light wood color which is equally pimp. Idk I love it so far.. might buy the otterbox too when I have some spare cash.

So it's basically a sticker with a screen protector? The link says it "Protects your HTC Evo Shift 4G from scratches, dents, and physical wear-and-tear" How can a sticker do that?
Glad you like it, not for me though.
I got the Black Carbon Fiber Skin when I first got my Shift. Don't regret it one bit, has saved my phone a bunch of times.
dang that looks sick!

Its a strange material.. hardly a sticker more like a highly flexible layer of plastic, and its definately strong enough to save your phone from light nicks and bumps.
the screen protector is the primary reason I love skinomi right now... can hardly even tell the thing is on there its so clear, and as I mentioned earlier it gives the screen a smooth texture with less thumb drag, no color distortion, less fingerprints, I don't care if you don't want to skin your phone but the screen protector is definately worth it... there's another thread on here somewhere that gives props to skinomi...and they've earned it in my opinion.
Ps: coolest part is it looks wooden!

I like otterbox as well, might buy one of those as for idk a camping trip?.... but since my phone is in my pocket most of the time, this is a good middle point of protection for me... once again ill say this is not just a sticker....I took a chance and made the purchase and don't regret spending one penny on it. And I'm a broke mf..

I had the invisible shield, put it on right as I unboxed the phone, it looked perfect. Starting peeling off about 2 months later, still has a nice fit on the screen but everything else is gone. Kinda mad I spent 30 bucks.
My friend got the ghost armor on his blackberry and i think its pretty good. I would recommend that, its a bit more pricey but well worth it.
Go to BoxWave.com
Look for the Clear Touch (anti-glare)
They make the screen look VERY black when off, yet allow you very clear access when on.....make sense?
Very protective....very hard.....custom fit.
I have been using since right before the TiLt.
This is NOT a flimsy screen protector.
And I have ZERO bubbles with this brand!
Thanks,
Bubba.
I have the invisble sheild full body kit...i dont use it if you need it PM me, 5 bucks

How the hell did you manage that? I am being way careful, and with a screen protector, I have a slight scratch on the screen... Aww good though.
I have some POS ebay $3 for 3 screen protector, which has a sticky side that loves dust. The outside is clear and has some "self healing" scratch removing stuff.
BTW I found that once the protective film is removed from the screen protector ( prior to applying) it collected fine particles of dust which caused bumps and little vacuoles. It has a high static attraction cover which Can be neutralized so the protector can be positioned and moved.
The way I did it was with windex. I sprayed and wiped/removed any clinging dust. Then shook off violently any windex, so only really small droplets were left. Placed the protector in position, which now slides with a firm push. Gently squeegeed off any windex with a towel at the edge of the screen, preventing any from going under it. The result is a bump free stuck on, reuseable dust protector.
I am using
8 gauge clear vinyl.
$2.99 a square yard from local JoAnn fabric. Works very nicely. For me has been better by far than the $20.99 invisishield crap bestbuy originally put on my phone. I do not have a cloudiness issue, and bubbles are easily worked out when first applying. 8 gauge is fairly thin, if you want something a little thicker you might go with the 10 or 12. 4 gauge was way to thin for my taste.
I've had my Hero since Day 1 and carry it in my pocket and there isn't a mark on the screen. I don't think you need a screen protector with this phone.

If I recall correctly, they'll replace it for free at one of their stores (probably in your local mall.) They told me they had a lifetime warranty so any time it peeled off they would replace it.
i got one of those cheap-o screen protectors from ebay. so far its working fine since i baby the hell out of the phone. That ghost armor is lookin really good i might just have to try it myself.
I put a invis-a-shield on my phone right off the bat and had it on for the first few months but in January it started pealing off then just vanished(fell out of pocket somewhere). The phone has gone 4 months sans screen protector and the screen looks brand new and is much slicker then with the protector on in terms of friction. The phone body is starting to show signs of wear, big chunk missing in the body near head phone jack from a 12' fall down the stairs and the end call button is stripped to just red.
Hi guys,
I've seen the DIY project which is a pretty decent looking alternative but I was wondering if anyone has seen an actual Matte Battery Door yet? It'd be cool to have one like the Epic 4G's which still said Google on the back. (I think the Google looks oddly classy )
My searches have come up kinda empty so thought I'd ask.
Mini rant.... WHY?! WHY???! Is the back cover so prone to scratches.. it been only a week and a half or so and already I've seen scratches developing, in fact another happened just today.. it's really the one and only thing I don't like about it.. not sure what they were thinking..
Well if anybody has seen alternatives please let me know!
Thanks!
There is the Invisible shield Dry which is a matte back protector for it. It looks pretty sleek.

you can get the invisibleshield dry from any of the sprint stores-- it's all they carry.
if you get the invisibleshield from ZAGG, they send the "wet" version, which is the cover everyone's used to.
the dry version is matte, and thinner, and doesn't use spray/sponge/liquid. it's not as "tacky" or sticky as the wet version, and you can still clearly see the google/samsung logo.
just be real sure to follow the instructions, squeegee from the center out, and give it a couple of days to fully cure. i saw a bunch of micro bubbles and what look like flaws after applications, and it looked like the dry shield didn't fully seal around the tiny dots on the cover, but after a couple of days it was perfectly sealed in. don't squeegee too hard, especially around the curves. it'll stick, and give it a day or two.
pretty happy with it, and it comes with the regular clear/tacky/sticky front shield, too, which is also applied dry. i found the squeegee to be a bit too stiff, and it's easy to dent and stretch the shield when squeegeeing it out.
ZAGG says to keep the device off, cuz the heat or something will affect curing. i just left mine on after application, and everything is perfect. there's orange peel, but it's minimal. no problems with touch sensitivity, and if anything i think it's better because fingerprints and oil don't show up.
i wonder if it's even worth shielding the front, though. i have an old blackberry that had nothing on it, and the screen i think is plastic, and i treated it like crap. no scratches.
but yeah, just go to a sprint store. they have em. best buy around here only sells the front shield. i prefer the dry matte back because it's thinner, and still does a good job.
fyi: ZAGG's guarantee and return policy are top notch. registering on their site is simple, and they'll ship out a replacement pretty quickly, and you just mail back your old shield as proof. they don't care what condition it's in. before i just ripped off an old shield and slapped it on a piece of paper.

So the Nexus S still doesn't have any third party back covers or battery doors? I can't stand the shiny plastic back. All I see on ebay are oem battery doors that are the same thing. Don't want to use a sticker/shield or dip.

Correct.
The white version of the Nexus S actually has a very nice textured back on it. I wanted the white color to begin with but after seeing (and feeling) the difference between the backplate on the black version versus the white version, I much prefer the white one. The black one has no grip to it and, like the OP said, it scratches way too easily.
Yeah I thought about the zagg body shield but they unfortunately only had the screen. I decided to grab the wet one instead and I've never had better luck applying a screen protector.. heh the "wetness" really makes it easy to get the bubbles out and it cures awesome.
As for the battery cover.. it's already got a few scratches, but on top of that in the lower left corner it doesn't seem to snap in very securely, even in general use when tapping on the lower left part of the phone you can feel the battery door.. "click" a little bit as if its not latched properly, it makes a audible click sound as well.
I resolved this issue by putting a very thin strip of scotch tape on the inside of the door along the edge which produces just enough pressure to keep the clicking from happening and it feels more secure. (No you can't see it )
SO I'll probably just buy a new battery door eventually and use a body shield.. hopefully the new one will latch a bit more securely as well. It's not a big big deal, and the DIY fix by me is definitely just me nitpicking the tiny click feeling but still.. I think Samsung makes good products most of the time but they really should step up the build quality a little bit.
Thanks for the suggestions though guys
Actually I think I'm going to try the plasti dip on the existing cover to.. I could see that helping the latch as well because it would be just the tiniest bit thicker it would seem.

Same here. I just can't stand bulky cases. This is the only thing I'd consider putting on mine so I'm interested to know if it looks cheap and how it feels.
I'm curious if these skins, along with their screen protector, offer any actual protection if the phone is dropped..

The edges are where the damage is most likely and it appears from the photos that they are not well covered. Not sure I am going to keep it. I also have had lots of issues with screen protectors peeling off because I keep the phone in my pants pockets. Looks like that could very likely happen with all those seams.
Yesterday one of the pointy corner pieces started to come off so I heated it up with the hair dryer and re-applied it. So far so good. I also keep the phone in my pocket.
The skin does prevent fingerprints but I don't love the feel of it. I wish this phone had a soft touch back then it would be almost perfect.

The edges seem sharp to the touch. Not enough to cut but I am not sure I love it. I noticed the screen protector gets marked up with the knock knock function.
I had to cut a couple of the very pointy ends off because they kept popping up. No problems since. The carbon skin is a bit rough and not that pleasant to touch but it gives a good grip and no finger prints. I'm going to try the Incipio Feather black soft touch cover.

I just bought this case the other day and I love it. It protects the phone well enough while still being thin and easy to slip in/out of my pocket. I don't use a screen protector so I can't attest to that aspect.

Happy to say i found a red case that's similar to this style. unfortunately I have to remove my bodyguardz clear skin from the phone for it to fit.
I don't think I'm ready do that. Do any of you guys with this case have a skin on your phone? How's the fitment?
To the OP
I got this case today. It's the best feeling case I've used to date on any phone.
I don't use protectors but I think this will play nice with them. It doesn't come way over the bezel like other cases.
I love this case and its design. So sturdy and nice feeling.

I've had my BSE screen protector for about 2 months. On the positive side the cut is very precise and if you're experience with installing wet apply protectors it's quite easy.
The material itself is a bit grippy and definitely not as smooth as dry apply protectors. Initially the self healing properties of the skin were reasonable. However after 2 months every small indentation from pressure being in a pocket remains permanent. My screen protector is now super ugly to the point friends laugh at it.
I wondered if this was normal or just unlucky that I got a defective batch. I contacted BSE and they told me it's just normal wear and tear. I was definitely a bit surprised that this is normal for 2 months of use. I've never had this with any other protector I've used.
The other factor that made me want to try this brand was there 5 star review on their site. Out of 6 reviews every reviewer gave it 5 stars. I recently tried to post my honest review on their site and low and behold my review, less than perfect, was not published. Now I see why the rating is what it is. Deceptive marketing.
In the end the company offered me a replacement out of 'goodwill' if I paid shipping. They then sent me a bill for $3 which doesn't sound like a lot but their shipping cost is way less since it's just a standard letter.
Overall, I would not buy another BSE product since they develop permanent marks after 3 months.
Will post a picture when I have a chance.
here's a picture of the bestskinsever after 2 months.
Jesus Christ, that is ugly.
How much did you pay for the screen protector?
I've had some issues with glass screen protectors but I'm now using a "cheap" alternative I found on Amazon that's identical to the £40 glass screen protector I initially had that I messed up when installing. I only paid £11 for a pack which includes a film protector for the back; however all glass screen protectors have SOME sensitivity issues and I've had it with this one too, but it's not too bad.
However I don't use my edge screen in the extreme corners. (I am also using a case which affects this).
Just an idea as it's relatively inexpensive.

I generally carry my phone in my pocket but almost always there is nothing else kept in the same pocket.
Had my BSE front and back protectors on for 3 months and still look brand new. Bought them for my S7 Edge after having a BSE protector on my Galaxy S5 for 2 years and it still looked mint after all that time.
Had mine for at least 3+ months, looks nothing like this, I don't know how you managed that. Certainly the best normal screen protector I've ever used. Only issue is the case cut works better with some cases than others, but that's no fault of theirs.

I've used many brands of wet-apply protectors. All have been used the same way. None have ever looked like this. I was just surprised that BSE described it as normal wear and tear so I suppose this is what they expect after a couple months.
I haven't used a liquid apply screen protector in years. When I used them, they were new tech for phones, were sticky, and often had an orange peel look to them. And they got deep impressions in then from other objects in your pocket.
I loved them at first, especially as a total body skin. I eventually switched to the plastic PET protectors because they felt smoother and slicker, but attracted fingerprints. After that it's been nothing but tempered glass screen protectors.
Now that I'm using the S7E, I've gone back to the liquid application screen protectors. After research, I settled on the Yootech from Amazon.com for $8. I put one on my wife's phone first about three weeks ago and have been very impressed with the fit, feel, and clarity. She keeps her phone in a pocket or purse and I haven't seen any marks on the screen. So last night I put the same protector on my phone, and am again very impressed.
It isn't as slick as glass, but nowhere near as sticky as the old Zagg and similar liquid install protectors. My finger glide over it very easily and smoothly, and the orange peel effect is nearly non existent, unless you look at just the right angle in the direct light. And it doesn't attract fingerprints. I wouldn't say it's oleophobic, the prints just don't show up as much.
I say all that to say, my experience with these type of screen protectors is very limited, especially in newer brands, but if BSE isn't satisfactory, you may try the Yootech. I just ordered the BSE body protection set, so I'll be curious to see how it holds up.

No, no, no. Can't recommend spigen screen protector at all. Bought it one time and my corners piled off next day. Several months later I bought it again, thought that maybe they fixed something but i was wrong. Bought spigen second time yesterday, before it i was using best skin ever. So today i saw same ****ty piled off corners and ordered best skin ever again.
I don't understand how they are selling those screen protectors if from 4 times i applied them all times i got the same result. It sticks very nicely but next day corners starts piling off.
So in my opinion best skin ever is best choice for s7 edge.
i've been using an armorsuit wet apply one. it isn't glass but it much better that the BSE I had. Looks a lot smoother in comparison.
