What do you mean? I guess it is not signal, right?
I have some friends who are using the captivate from T-mobile. Everything is ok. However, they have one issue that they can not use 3G brand. Because Captivate of AT&T use different brand to T-mobile

If no signal or unknown baseband is found, just flash to other radio
it wont break the phone unless you have done sth awesome
UPDATE: I am upgrading this radio on top of France Orange 2.1.1
I don't own a ATT Atrix so I am not sure whether it works on ATT Atrix or not

I believe other radios have been used on the AT&T atrix before, you should be good to use this. If you end up w/o signal just flash SBF and you'll be back to normal.

I just flashed yesterday, gonna see how it works (Bell Canada)
The point is to share...
however in China only 2100 band works, so I assuming it works better for Europeans instead of Americans
Let's see...
For a second there I had hope that it would be the same version as the stock Bell radio. (1.77, I had to look it up)
I am guessing that since China has some differences in their mobile networks compared to NA, it might be interesting to see if it improves things over here.
Cheers!
Currently, I am using 4.1.83 ATT version. I failed to upgrade this radio from basebans version N01.77.15P via RSD 5.0

That's because of the ram downloaders this sbf uses. It will not work on an AT&T Atrix.
I can make a compatible sbf if some people want to test it.

to be specific, it flashes, but the phone boots up without signal and "unknown" baseband.

from what i can see,
your definition of "benefits" must be very limited. not everyone needs hsupa, i'd live without it if it improves stability.
you have no idea about what ymmv means. with the vast possibilities/combinations of different carriers/terrains/vendors/gen of devices, why would you even ask about the "benefits"? chances are someone would benefit from it but just not you.

what exactly do you think this baseband is gonna do to an at&t sku?
you'd most likely go from "loss signal and too much heat" to no signal at all.
i suppose you can just turn on flight mode if you want it so bad.

Unfortunately att has a policy for unlocking their phones. If you give them a call they can give you the details. Other than that though you're gonna have to pay.

Att should unlock it, since they are not the exclusive carrier, that's what I was told when I called about the Pantech crossover, its exclusive and can't be until December.

Just flash a stock rom and wipe your data. That's all!
Try giving a good title. Writing urgent wont make it. You have to give a clue of your prob so that people here could easily know if they could help or not.
Hope that helps. Just sharing what I learned from posting on XDA.

Unlocking phone for European trip on Slim Bean 4.1.2 ROM

Hello,
I gave my girlfriend my phone running Slim Bean 4.1.2 ROM on my captivate for her trip throughout Europe. I assumed it was unlocked and would work with any GSM carrier in Europe if she bought a SIM card and popped it in. Well, I was wrong and it didn't work and now I'm in a pickle. Can someone please give me an easy solution to unlock the phone!!!!!!! She has to be able to figure it out with me explaining it to her. I was thinking a zip file she could flash in CWM, but anything easy would be most definitely great.
Sincerely, SP
GalaxSim Unlock app by Spocky from the Play Store. The ability to do the unlock isn't free but should do the job on the Rom she has on her phone now.
The other unlock app by helroz, u would have to flash back to Stock first then unlock...i think.

[Q] 4.2.2 on T-Mobile?

I've just picked up the t-mobile version of this phone tonight, and it's on 4.1 right now. Everything I've read said there was an update for 4.2.2 , but the phone system says it's up to date. I'd actually prefer 4.1 for now because of bluetooth issues i think, but I'm just wondering if the t-mobile version will have to wait to be updated, making it much longer than the international versions? I didn't plan on rooting for a few weeks, but if there's already a 4.3 rom out there, i may have to do that a little quicker.
Yeah we don't know how long it will be to get the update it doesn't exist yet,but you can flash any firmware on it using the flashtool, just read up alto, for me it's been so diff than HTC like you don't flash it in recovery and you don't have to be rooted first, couple weird things

wait, so I'm confused, with the t-mobile xperia z, the bootloader can't be unlocked? if that is the case, then how can root even be possible?
Also, do the roms for the international version work on the t-mobile version (Such as parinoid android and cyanogenmod)
If that is the case, then what does the locked bootloader stop?
So I guess my question is, do roms designed for the international xperia z work on the t-mobile version. Like, do we get official cyanogenmod support?
I'm curious, because this might be my next phone (Debating between this and the nexus 4)
I'm currently using the htc vivid
Would any of these update methods erase the stuff that came with the phone? (Not that I want all of the apps, but some of them, I like)...

So I'm downloading the flashtool right now, but it's going to take a while longer. By flashing the 4.2.2 stock rom (which one is that btw?), will I get the ability to have a mobile hotspot again? That's the only thing I'm looking to get at the moment. Also, will I have to flash new modems or kernels or anything else? Is there a really easy youtube video that shows how to do everything from start to finish on adding a stock rom?

Since you seem to have the t-mobile version and are in the US, do you know if you flash a 6602 stock rom, does US T-mobile LTE still work? I've read so many different answers and they are ALL over the place on this board, so I'm not sure what way to go. The only US labeled rom I found is for a 6602, but some people have stated you need 6603 for LTE, others say both work.
