I'm new to HTC Touch HD and need help

Hello,
I'm new to HTC Touch HD and using original HTC Firmware... I'm new and can someone help me recommended firmware the ROM and I would like latest Windows Mobile 6.5 possible?

not want to Offend you,please Develop a good habit,before post thread,search the forum for impossbile answers with keyword,read the Tutorial in the forum
First :go toTri-color screen to Ensure your touch hd is unlocked,if not you must unlock first
Second:if you want to use wm6.5,you must make your spl update to 1.56
Third:download the rom ,then use tools to flash the phone

Asking people to give you an opinion on the best ROMs is against forum rules. Not to be a stickler, but as it is peoples opinions, there are likely to be many different views as to which ROM is best. The best thing is to read this thread to be sure you have set up your phone correctly. You have 2 choices, either going the USPL or the HSPL route. You will see the pros and cons of each route in the thread.
I would also suggest reading the ROM threads in this forum where you will get a sense of how well the ROM is working ie any major bugs (or not) and then try a few of them yourself and see which one suits your needs best.

i still do not understand why opinionated posts are forbidden but anyway. until this thread gets closed, here is my opinion:
check out miri's rom because it has been very stable for a long time and a day after a new build is available you will get an updated rom.
just make sure that you also flash the latest radio rom.
prior to flashing make sure that you install hspl on your device.
for everything you need (hspl, radio, wm6.5 rom) there is a link in my signature.

HTC Hero keyboard on Donut 1.6 ?

Hi,
I have searched the forum for the HTC Hero keyboard, and I found a couple of links but after installing, i realised they were talking about the HTC keyboard and not the Hero version , Basically i have had hero on my G1 before and the keyboard was just awesome !! I want to get it on my current AOSP 1.6 . Can anyone please help me with that ?

Thanks dude.......the link contained the same file i installed already, but I found a post in their which solved my problem.
All I had to do was to uncheck the Android keyboard under settings. So now Im seeing the lovely HTC Keyboard

No, it will need to be modifyed with the correct drivers and configurations; it must be developed specially, i think we could rip out a rom from the HTC Merge and it will be easyer to begin

The Adroid ROM for Touch Pro2 will not work, but you can try this one:

Hi, i was ale to boot yesterday but i found a problem with the LCD screen, it is not recognized and is blank, i think maybe we can work it out using the correct command line arguments in the startup.txt HaRET file

The screen is blank, but i know it boots because it turns off the screen after a minute and responds to the "send" buttom and turns on, also it created a data.img and FSCK0000.REC file
There's a lot of work to do but we are on the right way !!!

You can download XDAndroid 2.1. I use it,and its pretty good.You dont need to delete WM because you are emulating the Android so,if you reset the phone,you`ll be back on WM.Now,the problem is,I dont know what is the best radio for battery life,I made a thread about that,so if you want,follow that and wait for answers.Bye.

[Q] HTC One running ViperOne ROM v1.1.0 cannot read chinese character

Hey everyone, I have recently flashed the new ViperOne ROM (awesome ROM btw!) onto my HTC One (international) and there is an issue about the device not being able to display some Chinese Characters. It may not be because of the ROM (or maybe certain settings I changed and didn't realize?) but I wanna fix this problem.
Also because being new to android (was using iphone4 previously) root, flashing ROMs and all, I really hope I could get some help here as it is important that my phone can display chinese characters...those characters that couldn't be displayed was replaced with boxes and it's really annoying...
I would appreciate any possible solution presented! Thanks everyone!
