After i got crazy trying to figure out how to change that background finally i found the solution!
Basically you need to modify this xml inside Mms.apk: res/layout/compose_message_activity.xml
just search for "#ffadc0ce" (light blue) and change to whatever color you like!
That said i guess you already know how to decompile apk, edit xml, recompile it. If it's not the case i can give you the xml modded file already compiled with white background color. If you don't like white just let me know!
its it a theme your using at your post #2 ?? cuz i like !

Does anyone know how I would change the colours of the text in black below? It is the only thing that I can't find. I think It might be in services.jar somewhere but changing that is out of my depth.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sometimes I changed color for date and clock.
For this I had to decompile "classes.dex" file which you cand
find if you open "services.jar" with WinRar or 7zip!
After changing colours you have to compile back, open "services.jar"
again and put the new "classes.dex" there.
But I think some colours for notifications are at
framework-res.apk/res/layout/status_bar.xml,not at "services.jar".
Maybe look at here:

I am interested in this as well. I have searched and searched code and Google for where that precise line is and coming up empty. The links provided althougb useful and already used do not address the question.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
It's an .xml file in DownloadProvider.apk/res/layout, I do believe.

I decompile them with apktool and then use any ol' text editor.
Great lesson, thanks

You can change the color of the date in a .xml-file.
I'm building up a tutorial where to find to corresponding entries in the .xml-files (see my signature). Any hints to new places are welcome
Does anyone know why the check is on top on the text and not next to it

Changing progress_horizontal would not do that. Looks like a layout change somewhere in the theme you flashed. Someone with more experience may be able to tell you the exact .xml causing the problem. Posting the theme you flashed may help also.

Hello All!
This is "Placid HD Icon theme" from dfskevinohyeah but I have added a few more icons and fixed the names on a few icons to make it Miui V4 compatible. This is a great icon pack and as I said 90% of the credit goes to dfskevinohyeah.
This is the original

The font in the top image is called "Light Suave Redone" on the Miui online Theme store.

It came with the custom roms I was using at the time. Not sure if they worked correctly but it was one of these two.

Here you go bud! I did not make it and not sure where it came from.
Hi, a couple questions...
1. How does this compare to the original? (Is this more up-to-date, etc.)
2. When applying this in the theme editor, what will be changed if applying "framework" and "others"? So far, I only applied "Icons"
Thanks!
Could you post the MTZ? i cant find that theme when i search for it... I found the light suave but it didnt contain the same font.
Sorry for the wait!

1. I have added about 20+ more icons to the original.
2. the framework and others shouldn't change anything. I only kept them there because for some reason when I tried to apply the theme with out them on Miui V4 it would try to convert the file.
sorry for the wait!
Sorry..

This is incredible!
So, it looks like common > src/main > res > drawable-xxxhdpi-v4 contains the Yellow, Green, and Pink background files respectively. If we wanted to make a barebones theme, would we just replace those three files and package with gradle? What about things like the dialer keys, etc, where do those resources live?
I'm super-new to theming and app development in general, but I think my skills as a designer would really benefit the community, I'd love to start doing themes for you guys!
Thank you so much for this! I have the info all there but how do you make the apks that actually theme the apps? like come.lge.theme.template.common.apk?
Edit, I did find this: https://plus.google.com/+PiereRalph/posts/9zqVrHrCWrS
Just do that for each app I want to theme? This is going to be fun haha

but can you pleas tell what to edit to change the colors and phonts? im not very good at java.
Is there a guide on how to use the files in the template? This seems more complicated than just changing a few colours or substituting images.
The readme.md doesn't say much...
I am not a programmer.
what do i edit here to change the colors? and how do i install it on my phone?
This literally helped every question I ever had however once I edit an apk file do they need to keep the name com.lge.theme.template.common.apk?

This response may never get to you but if it does use apktool to decompile it then in assets/overlays/ you will find the apks of each individual app. Use apktool to decompile those and then go from there. I just decompiled the stock 'black' theme. Once finished theming replace the new modded apk where the overlay apks are. Then use apktool to repackage. It may need to be signed when completed however, I haven't quite gotten there yet.
Hi guys, I have a question regarding com.lge.theme.template.common.apk, this apk refers to everything in the framework-res.apk is true?
Thanks for the template.
