Hi,
I just bought this phone and i'm without ROOT option.
i updated the software version to 2.3.3 that was published by HTC
i'm having problem with hebrew (Right To Left) and wanted to know what can i do?
can i use HEBFIX without ROOT?
What i need to do to fix it?
Regards,
Sharon
if the option isnt in the device itselve, you need to contact htc about that, or get ur device s-off which is only possible atm by an xtc clip...
than root it, and than use the hebrew fix

Hello,
Please, I did root Incredible S, but I need to go back (unroot). I need back guarantee. Is this possible?
Thank you very much for your answers.
Just do an official update from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033922
i only suggest that you do not do not flash HTC_WWE_2.30.405.1
(that one can not yet and maybe never be rooted)
also next time just try using the search button and this question had been answered before, but enjoy
Ouuu, thank you very much I was looking for, but I was confused, so I was completely out.
Hello, How do I install the shipped rom, if I am from the Czech Republic?
or it does not matter what install the rom?
and how do I install it, just run only one. exe?
thank you so much
Well done, but I still have the S-OFF. Does it matter when the claim or not? to complain.
No way to unroot if permanent s-off?
May I ask you about some details? Which RUU did you applied and so on?
I unlocked bootloader with xtc clip, rooted device my and am running the latest ARHD now. Everything works fine except when I try to unroot (flash the stock gingerbread). It seems to be just impossible. It doesn't matter if I try to run ruu on my Vista och use goldcard method I always get either "error [130]: model ID error" or "model id error uppdate fail"
I've used two sd-cards: Kingston 2mb that worked perfect on my old Legend and original Sandisk 8mb that was shipped with my Incredible S. I followed all possible tutorials step by step but without effect. I always get the same error.
I live in Sweden and I bought my device from retailer. I'm not really sure what's the valid RUU version for our region so I've used:
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.12.405.7_Radio_20.2804.30.085AU_3805.04.03.22_M_release_187295_signed
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.30.405.1_Radio_20.2808.30.085AU_3805.06.03.03_M_release_199308_signed (especially this due to the same program and radio version)
but even optus and RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_KT_KR_2.32.1010.1_Radio_20. 2810.30.085AU_3805.06.03.16_M_release_199684_signe d.
Unfortunately it's always the same error after reboot into bootloader. Has anybody of you (that used xtc clip but not only) faced the same problem? Is there any way to bypass it? I will be very very grateful for any answer.

If you are S-OFF with a XTC-Clips, you can't get S-ON, because it's a "hardware" S-OFF:

Thanks a lot for reply but well...It's not what I asked I was asking about unrooting (just pure taking away this little f... pirate and possibility to come back to stock rom) I'm totally aware of permanent character of my unlocked bootloader.
Anyway I solved problem with help of two threads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070348&page=7 and this about canadian dudes' problem with their PG32120 devices and bell stock. As it turned out I accidently change my Modelid during s-offing and wrote it as PG321200, which i didn't know until i succesfully installed ENG s-off and rebooted bootloader todays afternoon. I used xtc clip again (I had to re-create goldcard - hboot 0.99x200 (bell) though) and reverted quite easily back to my original PG3213000. After that I installed RUU without any single issue. Just ENG s-off disappeared, but I can live without that
Can you not downgrade the HBOOT then run said RUU with a gold card. Or you could extract the ROM.zip and use that in HBOOT mode.
Believe me I tried several times and it didn't work as long as I had modelid PG321200. Once I changed model id with xtc clip problem disappeared

Is your phone branded or unbranded??
Do you know which Rom came with it??
I can send you detailed instructions to unroot and S-On your device but first you need to tell which region your phone belongs and if its branded with some carrier or unbranded???

It worked fine for me and so did for a few others but I heard recently that there are some changes in AlphaRevX and the bootloader needs to be downgraded now.
I S-off my phone long ago when AlphaRevX method was just introduced so may be that's why my bootloader was overwritten by the Rom easily.
Try following this guide:

By the way my guide is meant to be used when your USB is not working

PS. I dont own an Incredible S anymore so cant test it myself sorry
Hi there,
I tried yesterday to gain S-OFF on my Incredible S, then I downloaded AlpharevX for Windows.
I enabled debugging USB and disabled fast boot.
It recognized my phone, but when it was acquiring root <method 2>, after few seconds (about 5-6), the message "Failed to get root! " appeared.
I restarted my phone but nothing changed.
Anyone have an idea about my problem or met the same message ?
Thanks.

What version of Android do you have installed? What is the Software build number shown under Settings -> About Phone -> Software?
If you have Android 2.3.3 installed and your build number is 2.30.xxx, then HTC has fixed all known temp root exploits on this ROM which has rendered AlphaRevX unless at this point in time.
Hi,
Thank you for your answer.
My Android Version is 2.3.3 and build number 2.30.405.1
So, the only issue is to wait the new version of Alpharevx ? There is no other way ?

Afraid not - unless you can get access to an XTC clip, which is a hardware method of gaining S-OFF.

6) Next come 7740/HTC Firmware Update, if u apply tht too, u again endup with SPL 5.X, so u have to Stop after Mango Update and Then you can follow the below thread to flash Custom or Branded roms.
ok look man i did that update and my phone cant restore and get bootloader 4.xx
i had the same problem and did a lot of searching.
you need to do the goldcard method. and make a y cable. seems difficult but is quite simple.
read through this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371073
i used a pny 4gb black flash drive from bestbuy instead of a micro sd and card reader
man if i go to a htc shop and maintance here can they do it for me? cz i dont know how to do it but im scared cz im living in lebanon and here the htc is not very known and used
I root my phone in order to downgrade my HTC One back to Android 4.1.2 Sense 5. I found the perfect ROM which was Guru_Reset_M7_1.26.502.15 from htc1guru. So I installed it but after it booting I couldn't use the touch screen anymore for some reason! I could use the touch screen when I'm in TWRP recovery but not on the ROM itself so I know it's not a hardware issue.
If this helps at all, my phone is running:
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
S-ON
H-BOOT 1.56.0000
ROOTED (I know because the notifications tell me that it's there, unfortunately I can't access it due to the touch screen problem in the way)
If there's any more information needed just tell me
I REALLY NEED HELP SOMEBODY'S HELP!
I have searched countless forums but most of the time I have no idea what half of them they are talking about. Is it a kernel thing? An S-OFF thing? What could it be?? (I'm still new to this rooting thing)

Read the instructions at the top of the page....
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/
So I would need to re-lock the bootloader and upload the Adnroid 4.1.2 OTA (or is it the current?) onto my phone and it should work?
Is this correct?
Would I really need an OTG cable for this or can I use CMD prompts to do so? ...
And is there anything else I would need to do?
Sorry in advance if I sound like I'm over-thinking it I don't want to screw up my phone
It sounds you loaded a bad touchscreen driver onto your phone with that RUU. TWRP works because it has its own driver. It's possible you've got a later model phone that isn't compatible with the firmware in the RUU.
Why do you want to roll it back so far?

Honestly, I don't like the look of the update/change within the phone. There's nothing great about it except the improved emojis.
A stupid reason? Probably.... but if there's no way to go back without having these big ass problems in the way, then I'll just go back to the current official stock firmware for my phone and learn to live with it
Hello
A friend buy an HTC one M8 sprint version and want to use it in France. I have already unlock and root the device, so the next step it's to S-off the phone.
That's the problem, i want to use sunshine.apk but when i have this error ; "sunshine can not be used on your device as it is. you need to flash a stock rom, or a nearer stock rom".
But i use a stock rom... just was rooted... i have test witch titanium backup and this is ok, titanium reclaim the root credential .
And sunshine.apk not reclaim the root credential, juste said the phone is not compatible.
What's the problem ?
(ps sorry for my poor english, i'm a french guy)
Regards
Try the ruu and then sunshine
