[Q] Does incredible S support tv-out? - HTC Incredible S

Does incredible S support tv-out with the cable for ADR6300, just like droid incredible does?
Any one have tried this cable?
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know it doesn't support TV-OUT over USB, but it does support DLNA streaming

TV out, Miracast or anything like it?

It's driving me nuts. The only thing that stops the the Nexus 7 being nothing more than a toy or glorified ebook for me is the fact I cannot find any form of big screen streaming for it. My 2 year old phone has MHL abilities which is okay but someone must know if there are any plans for the Nexus 7? It seems to be ridiculous to have such a powerful device and not be able to use it on a bigger screen.
I've searched back 10 pages on this subject and found nothing so welcome any fresh perspectives on it.

+1 to BubbleUPnP...
Though screen mirroring is not possible in BubbleUPnP, you can throw any media from it to your TV or other
DLNA enabled devices...
Luckily, my TV has WiFi dongle and Wi-Fi direct feature...
so, once my device is connected to the TV via WiFi-direct, launch BubbleUPnP and select the TV as renderer, I can
throw any media to the TV...
I'm also hoping and wishing for the screen mirroring...
Hi I will look at BubbleUPnP, I've been using Skifta for the time being which does DNLA quite well.
I use my PS3 as a receiver but it doesn't support many file formats.
It's a real shame the Nexus doesn't at least support MHL.

MHL Videos with Subtitles[SOLVED]

Well. S4 is quite powerfull for our device and well. Its kinda useless unless you do something that requires that firepower. Well Sony has put a great H/W mhl chip and it can interpolate the screen to FullHD if you have proper cable and tv. Watching Hd movies is a pleasure but only sometimes. I know English and i dont need subtitles. But when i wana watch a film with my family. And its full HD. I cant. S/W decoding lacs and it shows subtitles. H/W is perfect and smooth but Sony didnt make subtitles to be shown over H/W decoding on the big screen. Have anyone found a way to show subtitles ?
So the solution is to download VLC for Android and enable Hardware acceleration in options. It plays 1080p uncomressed videos perfectly and supports subtitles over the MHL cable

And I believe it's got nothing to do with Sony, it's a limitation of the technology, because Dice player offers an expliciely stated experimental feature for subtite output via hdmi. I'd have to check if its for Samsung devices only though, I believe I remember the option saying that.
Side question: most fullhd tvs feature a usb port nowadays anyway, why not use that and play your stuff directly on the tv if the technology doesnt seem to be really there...?
Re: MHL Videos
I agree. Or you could download screen standby in play store. Try if it could reduce lag when using SW rendering

Dude thats imposible( i havent found a way)
Nope, it's not the same: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Relationship_with_MHL
Different connector, different wireing, different (altered) protocol. Nope, not the same.
Well it's not possible on your phone but you have a PC. There's plenty of tools to be found in the allmighty internet allowing you to easily overlay the subtitles onto your existing video. They will be a part of the "images" then though. Depending on the firepower at your disposal, such an encode takes somwhere between 10-30 minutes per movie for a typical hollywood blockbuster.

Yep. Well i asked a person who edits videos and he said that it cant be hardcoded. Butt. thanks for the info. Although I really want sony to implement subtitles over MHL. And i mean there is no difference if i say HDMI or MHL. MHL is a convertor and it decodes colors different way. But it has aboslutly the same posibilities.

HTC One & PS3

Has anyone been able to connect to ps3? I was trying to get a couple songs off the ps3 and it wouldn't show up as storage device like it does on pc. Anyone else notice this?

Sup Kao, I'm here trolling LOL
My PS3 knowledge is weak, but I don't think it functions as a DLNA server for connecting to. I think it can only connect to other devices acting as DLNA servers.

PS3 is not a media server, such is Windows, but it is able to stream from devices that are. It doesn't serve files but can stream media files from DLNA compliant devices / servers.

In order for your ps3 to read your files they need to be in specific folders. You need a ps3 folder in the root of the USB device with music, video and photo folders inside of it. And your music inside the music folder. Also the USB device needs to be formatted fat32

You would need this at least since the PS3 doesn't have an IR receiver. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/5732
I have one on the PS3 in the living room for my Harmony and briefly tried to it it up in the TV app but then quickly gave up.

You can actually use any brand TV that has control over HDMI as long as your PS3 is a Slim or newer.
Does anyone know of an app the would allow your phone to act as a Bluetooth controller for the PS3? This might let us control the media functions of the PS3 through the TV app. Just curious.

[Q] Connect phone to TV

Hey. I was wondering if there was any option to connect our phone (optimus 4x) to TV, in my case the Samsung Smart Tv Es8000 ([samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UE40ES8000UXXU) .
If possible, what should I get ? (cables and that sort of stuff) . I wanted to share the screen with the Tv, for video streaming and gaming on a bigger screen. Any ideas?
Sure u can.. i use this cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-USB-M...-HTC-Sensation-G14-EVO-3D-flyer-/280766335892
And it shares the image with the tv ? Sorry if noob question ahah

HTC One Screen Mirroring (Miracast)

Hi friends;
I have LG Smart TV 2013 model.
TV has miracast function .
I want to buy HTC One.
Has HTC One Screen mirroring function like Samsung Galaxy S4?
Galaxy S4 connect to tv wirelessly without using any adapter/dongle.(e.g. Netgear)
I want connect HTC One's screen to my LG TV wirelessly.
Up
According to this video, yes the function does work.
the built-in gallery app offers limited support for mirroring photos and videos; I am using skifta which does a better job imo, not only that but you can play content from another dlna source

You mention about DLNA.
With DLNA i only watch videos , pictures on my tv wirelessly.
I have HTC HD2 and already i can use DLNA
I want to see HTC One's screen on TV without any addional device(eg; Netgear, HTC Media link)
This is screen mirroring or miracast
For Example: In this video you can see miracast function LG optimus G between LG LA smart TV
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts6kP-qFgAo
then there's only mhl or dedicated miracast device via wi-fi

I've read somewhere that miracast it's not working on custom roms WITH sense for HTC One (I've tried ARHD with no success). This means that miracast might work with GPE roms. As I said I've tried ARHD with LG and Sony TVs, no good, The TVs see the HTC One but when they're about to connect it fails. I can use DLNA though, but it's not what I really need.
