I just started having alignment issues with my keyboard no matter which keyboard i use. It seems to affect the u, h and b keys. No matter where I place my finger it selects the letter to the right or left never the the those letters. Is there a screen alignment utility pre-loaded on the phone or on the market?
thanks

Is there a way to deactivate poping up of the touch keyboard? Everytime when I am in an input field the touch keyboard pops up. But if I really want to enter something I want to use the QWERTY hardware keyboard. So is there a way to deactivate that the touch keyboard always pops up?
3 new threads out of 5 total posts... some would look down upon that. Since a simple search by me for your problem did not yield any direct answers, here's your freebie. Welcome to XDA!
When you go to a text box in landscape mode and the onscreen keyboard pops up, tap the space bar on the hardware keyboard. That will tell the phone not to pop up the onscreen keyboard again until you tap the icon for it.
No, I mean not when I have my hardware keyboard folded out. I mean when it is folded that the touchscreen keyboard doesnt show up.

OK, let's try this again... so is this your situation?
You are using the phone in portrait mode with the hardware keyboard closed. When you click into a text box, the onscreen keyboard pops us. But you do not want the keyboard to pop up. You want to be able to click into text fields with the phone closed, but not have the onscreen keyboard pop up.
Did I summarize that correctly? If so, I'm working on the answer, give me a little bit.
--Edit--
I just tried the following steps:
Slide the phone open
Open PIE and go to Google
Tap into the text box; the onscreen keyboard did not come up
Tap the icon for the onscreen keyboard; it came up
Tap away from the text box; keyboard went away
Tap into the text box; keyboard came back
Tap Space on hardware keyboard; onscreen went away
Tap away from the text box
Slide the phone closed
Tap into the text box; onscreen keyboard did not come back
Follow my steps just to see if that is your solution. If not, it could quite possibly be ROM dependent.
Your summary is correct.
Here is what happens at my Kaiser:
When I am on google the onscreen keyboard is there. Everything else works fine but I dont like that the onscreen keyboard comes everytime I am in a textbox.
I am using the ROM from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403214
Try the steps I listed above. Also, if you tap a second time in the text box, the keyboard will close, but pop back up if you go to another box.
The problem is that if I open PIE and got to google the onscreen keyboard will pop up without doing anything and I want to get rid of this "feature".
Hi,
Has anyone experienced this issue? Got a MDA C4 with manila installed. Along the right side of the screen (from top right corner to bottom right hand corner) i can see a faint shadow. After some testing it seems to be the previous menu underneath the current menu.
Example i'm on the home screen, goto messages and send a text using the qwerty keyboard. Back to the home screen, i can see a very faint image of the qwerty keyboard under the Programs hotkey.
When the PIN lock comes on the bottom right is "MENU", i can see a faint "programs" letters icon underneath it.
It happens more or less on every single screen i goto. Is there a fix or is my MDA faulty?
thanks.
I have noticed this also. Sometimes when I use the touchflo across the bottom say scrolling to into "albums" or "weather" then come out and go back to home, the background becomes white instead of the "Manila" Black. The scroll bar along the base of the screen disappears.
I'm not up on exactly how cab files work or sit on top of the base rom, but I presume there is a slight issue. I have found the only way to get it back to the "manila" theme is to soft reset it.
Only way round this is to flash it with a HTC rom, which I will do when I can get a copy of the shipped T-mo rom (to put back on in case of a warranty issue).
So I was in the browser tonight playing around with the ability to shift the cursor to any point by touching and holding the screen in any area that accepted text input.
When you do this you will notice a cursor appear above your figure which can be positioned. Cool right. My first thought was that if the cursor appeared above my finger how could I position on the last visible area of the screen. I dragged my finger down to the bottom of the screen and then onto the buttons and to my surprise the cursor continued to move. In fact it tracked perfectly no matter I i moved my fingers across the buttons.
In short the touch screen extends all the way to the bottom of the buttons!
It's cool that they don't separate the touch regions for this purpose... does it work in other parts of the OS too?
Hmmm I'm not sure
A easy way to see it to see this in action is to head into one note and click the text area. Press and hold and drag your finger down over the buttons whilst the purple cursor is on screen.
it is also active over the HTC logo at the top, I'd imagine the whole glass face is active
Have any of you tried the GB keyboard on the vogue? I've been wrestling with it for a while but haven't had much success.

I quickly tried it yesterday, and the keyboard was all "mushed" together at the bottom, didn't really have any time to try figure out whats going on with it
i got it to load on my vogue it worked but it took up 3/4 of the screen your going to have to wait till the source drops to get one that scales to 240x320
Wierd, all I could get to come up is the squished down version of it too. The kb works on the wildfire which has the same resolution as we do.
This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering if there is any way to have 4 rows of letters on a android keyboard rather than the current 3 rows of letters. I find that I often mistype words because the keys are too small. I would prefer to have 4 rows of letters which would mean less letters per row but wider keys. Does anyone know if a keyboard like this exist?

You can try a compact keyboard. I'm not sure if the HTC IME keyboard has it. But I do have Ultra Keyboard which has the "swiping feature" and the compact keyboard. PM me if your interested.
I got the keyboard loaded up and working on my vogue and it does take up a lot of screen real estate. That is not such a bad thing in my book, it's a bit easier for me to type on in portrait mode than the stock froyo keyboard. Doing the sequence of resolution changes was a pain in the @ss on this tiny screen.
Hi boys n gals. I have a weird one and can not figure it out.
I recently noticed that whenever I use s pen and press on a text field inside chrome it will not bring up on screen kb. It will pop if I point to address bar or any other text field within system but not anything in chrome in webpages or Google search bar on Google page. Even here on title or text box, when I bring the pen near screen it shows the blue draw icon that I am sure it didn't before and that's it, it does nothing. Sometimes the blue draw icon wont show, just the small dot . On screen kb comes on fine if I press these fields with finger but not with s pen. I'm lost, I tried the usual restart tablet clear caches but no bueno. Anyone have any pointers ?
Thank you
