Selling brand new Otterbox Defender - Droid Incredible Accessories

I just opened it today but I much prefer the commuter I have. If anyone is interested in buying make me a good offer and just email me at [email protected].
I have the original package etc and everything with the defender. Also have the package it came in the mail today too.

update on this. i got another one coming in tomorrow...if someone wants to buy that i'll sell it and won't open it either. just kinda need to know soon

Does it come with a holster?
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk

all defender cases come with a holster, i suppose this would be the case with morph3k. I would also like to see if there's any more interest in this because i also have a defender

Is the holster a separate attachment?

yes, the holster is a separate attachment. There are 4 pieces: two snap on halves made of a hard plastic with a built in screen and camera protector, one silicone soft case to cover the hard case, and a hip holster that can double as a stand.

Awesome case, i love mine

so I was the lucky buyer of this case, and Im very pleased with it! still trying to figure that little kick stand thngy on the back but overall, not too shabby! received it like 3 days after payment

Question - otterbox commuter or speck case?

Want to know if anyone has tried both and which one they picked?
I need to get a case but can't find a local store to test the speck case. My main concern is the size and if I will be able to easily get it out if my jeans pocket?

I originally bought the commuter, the day I got my phone(launch day) but after 2 days of use I got so fed up with it that I pulled it off and went with no case for about a week before I picked up the Speck, which has been on ever since.
The Speck is FAR thinner than the Commuter... however, it is still very sturdy and feels like it is protecting my vivid.
The Commuter was simply too bulky and I found the cover over the charging port to be difficult to open. in addition it was hard to put on, which makes popping the battery out a problem(something you will have to do if you buy backup batteries Or do much with custom roms).
Thanks for the info I will look for a speck case then!

Otterbox all the way.
Just bought the speck case for my white HTC vivid and by far the best case for the money. Love the case so much and trust me when i say it. I have over 5 cases and if you are looking for a thinner case go with the Tpu style.

I use an otterbox defender. I work in a warehouse environment and have to have a good rugged case. Also like having a beltclip instead of carrying it in my pocket. Would love to see a few different options that offer the same or similar protection though so I can change the look of my phone from time to time and not sacrifice durability.

I have tried these 3: otterbox commuter (grey/blk), speck and incipio (SILICRYLIC). After 2 weeks of try out, I went with otterbox for the reason of protection. I just feel the quality of otterbox provides a lil more protection that the other 2.
At first, I found putting the case on was a hazzle but now it doesn't bother me anymore. I kinda master the skill and able to put on in 5 sec. hehe
As for style or design, I like the speck case.

Best rugged case for note 2

Looking for opinions on most protective case. Defender seems like the best but the screen protector....and hearing about dust getting in between it and the screen is a little disconcerning. I used a seidio active case on my thunderbolt and loved it, dropped on concrete several times and faired very well. But after recently breaking few months ago and seidio not wanting to replace it like they used to...kind of left a bad taste in my mouth and I dont know if I want to go back to them. That's what she said. Please let me know your opinion. Thanks!
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Although I don't have the note2. I have an s3 and I have the otter box defender. I couldn't get the oil slick look to go away so I just took the built in screen protector out. It just pops right out. I have my full screen protector on there anyway to its still fully protected.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Ya that's what im thinking. Just thinking... should I buy it then immediately break the case by ripping out the built in protector. It just feels weird to break something so expensive on purpose lol. Then, does the adhesive that was holding it on cause an issue or removing the protector cause the case rigidinity to be compromised?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
If you can wait 3-4 weeks the uag http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/products/black-note-ii-case
But if you need it now then go for the otter defender or commuter.
Also, if removing screen protector from defender is there still benefit(s) to using that case versus an otterbox commuter? Being that there is an included screen protector versus built in already.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Rigidity shouldn't be compromised, and from what I read people use hair dryer to heat up the edge of the screen for a glue to soften, thus doing a clean removal of the screen. Glue supposed to roll off easily when its hot.. But you have to keep in mind, Otterbox gives you 1yr warranty if something happens to the case. If something breaks or gets damaged and you need to replace it, they will ask your original case back (I called them up to verify it) and even if you going to glue the screen back - there is a chance they will see it and might use it against you. I personally didn't want to take my chance, so I'm returning my Defender back.
Ya I was worried about breaking/enhancing this case for this reason. What did you end up going with?

Yes I have been watching this closely. Wasnt sure about how tough this case was. Looked more about design from what I could see, but I could be very wrong. I actually voted so they would make that case lol. But....not sure whats up with the holes on the back.

I have two cases for my Note 2: a Seidio Active case, and, as of this morning, an Otterbox Defender. Both have their pros and cons. The Seidio is more comfortable in the hand, and quite a bit slimmer, but the soft rubber inner case peels away from the phone too easily and all sorts of nasty scratchy stuff can get underneath it. It also has a handy little kickstand. The Defender is bloody huge, and for me at least, not as comfortable to hold. But it really does feel bombproof. The inbuilt screen protector isn't wonderful, but it works ok. Just needs an oleophobic coating.
As for which is best, I guess it depends how much you think you're going to throw your phone around

Throw? Never, unless onto the bed across the room. Its more of, late night out drinking and drop it from like 5 feet high on to concrete... that kind of scenario. Siedio for tbolt held up well for that did break the case eventually but phone still doesnt have a scratch. But yes, thank you for mentioning comfort, because if it never slips out of your hand... you never drop it. Looking for something grippy if possible, but that is second on my list to overall protection of course.

Casemate tough case just came out today, just like the Aegis they changed the design so I will have to see, but they have previously (for me) been superior to other rugged style cases

They are both grippy. The Defender is just a bit too big to hold comfortably. I guess that's the joy of better protection. Ironically, the Defender is possibly more likely to be dropped, not because it slips from your hand, but because it's likely to snag when you try to take it out of your pocket.
I'm going to stick to the Defender for now, although I will remove the screen protector. I use Liquid Armour on the screen and this pretty much negates the need for a plastic cover on the screen.

Whag was your reasoning for choosing the defender over the commuter? I hear it doesnt snag on pockets and has a regular screen protector. I ask because this case is my backup for the time being

I had a commuter on my iphone, and it was dreadful. It didn't fit well, and really didn't feel like it would provide any degree of protection at all. And protection was rather important with all that glass! Binned it after a few days and ended up with a Taktik case (kickstarter thing). But I digress.
Apart from my iphone experience, I would say the Seidio case is better than the Commuter. It will give as much protection, and look and fit better.

Finding a holster for Otterbox Commuter?

I have been searching ebay for a holster that will fit the Commuter (one than can be put both on screen and back) and while there is none of them making a claim like that, I was wondering if maybe I could try a few cheapo ones that come with other cases and get lucky or if maybe others would try their cheapo one and get lucky. We could all report back if one of them worked or not and maybe eventually we would find a decent holster.
Both my Otterbox cases are still travelling via super slow international mail so I don't yet have an idea of what thickness would be required. So can owners of the Commuter report what thickness of the Note 2 with Commuter on are we talking about?
If anyone already has one not working with the Commuter, can you also give info which one it is? Mr Google told me Seidio holsters don't fit, that is as far as I got till now.
+1. I would be curious also. I had a Defender and hated it , picked up a commuter instead. Much better for my needs. I always wondered why Otter box didnt make a holster for the commuter. I don't always holster my phone but the option would be nice.

What do you think about this one? Not completely cheapo but the look of it seems similar to Commuter to me... http://www.ebay.com/itm/WHITE-BLACK...003714?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item416f966dc2

Apparently the Seidio Active holster fits the Commuter. These guys offered the Commuter and this holster as a package at one time.

Looking for a clip type also. Got a leather one from amazon that said it fit the commuter but it was to tight on the phone.

Some people say Seidio Active holster works ok with it, and that one can be purchased directly from Seidio website. Also maybe try this one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39690360&postcount=77
Has anyone ever verified whether the Seidio active holster "HLSSGT2ASA" actually fits the commuter?
This works with RedPepper Waterproof case, so should work with Commuter no problem.

case recommendations please (protection needed)

I am looking for something similar to an otterbox defender, but not an otterbox. Don't care for their cases, but as an officer, I really do need protection.
Thanks.
Get a UAG case. Its protective and better looking than an Otterbox

Maybe the Seidio Convert case is what you'd be looking for? It's kind of expensive, but looks like it provides a ton on protection.
Edit: Looks like this would work if your duty belt was 1 1/2" or smaller.

I would love to get the UAG, but I need screen protection and from what I see, they do not offer a case like the defender.
It comes with a screen protector.... but also the front lip of the case extends maybe a 1/4 of an inch past the screen to protect from falls, if that's what you mean
I want something with a hard plastic cover for the screen, just like the defender.
I don't have time to look through the patents that they have (76 issues, 70 more pending), but if I recall, having a screen protector built into the case is one of them

depending on which region youre from, with the money you save from buying a UAG instead of an otterbox, you can afford to add a tempered glass screen protector as well, which offers better protection. this is the route i went, still waiting for my clearvue glass screen protector though.

[Q] Cases you are using

I am curious to what cases people are using and recommend. I am currently uaing otterbox case I bought when I got my phone and the corners are starting to peel back a bit, so I feel like I need a new case. In my area they don't have much for good protection cases that aren't to expensive.
I'm using the poetic atmosphere case. It has a little lip that lifts the screen off a table when face down, decent grip, and full back coverage. All while being really slim. I had a problem with my first one coming apart, but poetic sent me a brand new case that was "improved". And I don't think they were lying, the new case holds tight to the phone and is staying together nicely. Plus, they are cheap on Amazon.

I've got the Cimo Grip back in frosted clear, and my wife has the amCase with bumper(because it is pink ) I like the Cimo and have heard good things about the Poetics, I will say though that the amCase one doesn't have the power cut out so you cannot use the IR blaster. Altough it is easy to cut out with an exacto knife or the like.

poetic atmosphere during the weekends and an otterbox commuter or defender during the work week if im out on jobs with my employees.
Just some cheap case for 3.99 from ebay, works well enough that screen does not touch when facing down and as well as the camera. IR blaster works and volumes buttons are easy to press.
