So other than changing the colour scheme around a little. Do we know what actual changes there are in Gingerbread for the SGT? (And I mean actual changes, not just subjective ones)
Edit: Found a good list of the generic 2.3 changes here - if SIP support works on the SGT then that would be a big deal for me. Be nice to know what SGT-specific changes (if any) there have been.
In terms of actual features specific to the tab... I've found one:

As far as I know, this wasn't here before - now you can actually control playback of the stock Samsung Music player from the notification drawer!
I'm hoping for a way to recalibrate the accelerometers/gyro. Mine is badly out of whack.

I actually have this already on my Froyo GT (stock Japanese ROM)...
Samsung is really doing a good job getting this update out
you can do this unter "einstellungen/anzeige/horizontale kalibrierung"
in english it should be smth like "settings/display/horizontal calibration"

More than 2M (QVGA) or 4M (VGA) free space on main memory
4Mb of main memory, for a keyboard...yikes

Now, read this once more...
Your device is QVGA, so it requires 2MB!
BTW, it's really nice keyboard.

Touchpal is only available in English. In their forum they say they're working on other languages, without saying which or when.
My personal favourite for the moment is PCMkeyboard, it's relatively easy to convert it to any language and other preferences and skins but its prediction and correction capabilities are not as smart as HTC's or Touchpal T9

Does anyone know if this specific keypad is available somewhere??
try it
I don't know if it's hima-friendly or not. Haven't tried it on mine yet.
I do know the PocketCM Keyboard is awesome on my old himalaya.
Probably need the Default IM selector program too, to force loading it if it doesn't start after soft-resets.
Read an interesting article about a new input software for touchscreen devices.

On the homepage and in the article there are videos to see how it works. If this method works flawlessly it will definitely improve the writing speed a lot. Looks very promising from my point of view. I subscribted the newsletter to get a notice when this will be available (soon as the developers said).
I subscripted myself to test the beta! So i'm curieus to the result.
Subscripted also
Subscripte also. The app looks verry promising. Can not wait to use it.
signed up as well. looks like an interesting concept, especially on the diamond.

wow looks awesome...
looks really interesting, if it really works that well that would be a revolution.
and people would finally stop whining about not being able to type easily on their touch'es
not really a revolution... Just stumbled on something like this yesterday cus i really wanted that iphone feature
http://www.mobiletextinput.com/Product/SlideIT/SlideIT.php
p.s. I just tried the demo, its Qvga. It does work tho and in my opinion pretty nice.

The symbols page is too small. Other than that - not too bad.
Unfortunately we'll probably never get to use it due to their business model of now downloading of it, it's just baked into the carrier ROM's. Kind of dumb in my opinion, but maybe someone here can make a cab file from it.

Hello,
Here are a few new renders Ive done for you guys.
This one is based on the Touch HD + the Zune HD, It has the snapdragon processor (1.3), 4gb onboard memory with MicroSD expansion (up to 32gb i believe?) g-sensor, HD FM radio, GPS, plus the usual items found on today's phones, and boasts a WVGA screen and 5mp Camera. Runs either Android Or WM6.5 (not dual booting, ^.^) and not seen in the render but has two external speakers (on the side) for better music and speakerphone quality.
Anyway, enough talk, heres the photos!

No, if you add one good feature, you have to take out another good feature. At least that's what it seems like they do.

I wish HTC would release some phones with nice graphics on, like your wings - swirls - etc.
One thing to remember is all phones now have to have a home and a back key

From the look of the webpage, it looks like this is commercial software. Can you clarify where you acquired these apks and what their licensing terms are?

You might want to remove the download then. Unless you are authorized by the developer to distribute or the app is publicly downloadable from the webpage, it's probably considered 'warez'.
Don't know if this is the beta or not then but two things I didn't like about it were that with prediction it would cover some of the text field where I was typing and look bad and the other thing was there was no way to retract it from the screen

It's really ugly and only MIUI systems has this problem. I don't know why but the officials just ignore fans' complains and keep this 2mm area. Here's a image which I grab from the Internet. For real life using it's more serious than the image shows. It's just really awkward. Till now I know the Chinese official MIUI system has this problem. And MIUI EU fixed this problem since it's made by fans. What about International edition? And is there a way to fix it except from changing system dpi since it will make the font really small?

Yeah I Know EU works but some features are different from the officials, and it has other updates other than the status bar, so I might not like it.....

Yah, then its your choice, btw EU make their ROM based on Stock Dev, remove sthg and improve sthg.
There's a way in MIUI forum which is said to fix it by changing some system parameter but I tried and didn't work for me....
I just couldn't tolerant this useless area. It wasted me much time and even drives mad
Set the dpi to 365. I played around with the # and found 365 makes the 2mm disappear and sits flush with the notch.
This should help:
